I'd have said that the 'Americans are not stupid' questions were far more simple and straightforward than the ones asked here. 'How many sides does a triangle have' as opposed to 'Name a make of British Car' (To which the answer is "There is none" Making the question a trick one) is far more concerning when the person doesn't know the answer.
