  • oh my God that was hilarious! I about died laughing!

  • I am a cleaning lady... and I've seen pubic hair!

  • R.I.P. Boys....you will be missed by generations to come

  • are these guys loaded? because they should be lol!

  • I used to sit and drink with these guys: Norwood Hotel, late 70s. Any other Wood regulars around?

  • @CanadianBroad2008 now thats gayer then the vid

  • I seen then back in 94 in Moncton..... fuckin awesome show.... this was the shit I grew up on back in the 70's......between them and Ronnie Proffet it's a wonder I was ever allowed to go anywhere with my uncle..... imagine a 5 year old saying some of their jokes ha ha and I went to a religous school!!!

  • I had the pleasure of seeing Gary & Blair in a club in Toronto - and many, many years of belly laughs, thanks to these guys. God bless ya, guys, and thanks for all the years!

    -Marc

  • @CanadianISP Me too! Lots, lol in fact, my mate and I followed them around the Yonge St clubs... One time Burton Cummings, who was totally loaded, joined them onstage and sang a few dirty melodies...I caught them when they headlined a NORMAL smoke-in at Nathan Phillips Square...awesome guys :)

  • @TheBlueRose2008

Wasnt Burt 'Frankie Fontaine-The King of Genital Rock' who sang a song that went...

"I got no objections to a French Kiss

    under a moonlit Paris sky

I got no objections to makin memories

Even tho you're suckin some other guy"..

  • @toobularbells

YES, Frankie Fontaine!! Great tunes--we have that--OR!!!

"I fell in love with a lovely Jewish girl

OOOO, her folks found out I was never circumcised

But When My baby smiles and says hello

The skin is gonna be the first to go

The skin, the skin , is the first to gooooo...

No sense keepin it any longer..."

    Hahahahah XD

  • From Scotland I wish all the very best to the memory of Gary and Blair. And to those who can't remember them F - U - C- K- Y -A!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What I love about this song, along with the genius lyrics, isthe quality of the parody. The background vocals are perfect. You can almost see the pair of bouffant-laden country gals in sequined skirts up there behind Hank going "awoo" for all they're worth.

  • oh my god happy and sad at the same time ive been lookin for this for twenty years and now i find Blair died as well so sad well only one last thing to say FUCKYA

  • @stolencar100 both gone, but the naughty produce of those bad boys will live on forever...damn sad, they BOTH died so friggin young.(well, they did party a lot ;-/)

  • MacLean and MacLean should have merged with the Trailer Park Boys for the best of canadian dirty humor. Would have been great don't ya think?

  • @tokinPRIDHAM It would be a funny space-time paradox

  • @tokinPRIDHAM - Yes indeed ... Blair & Gary along with Ricky, Julian and Bubbles! :) ... with Bubbles on the "aWhooos" :)

These fine lads were truly "Brothers In Arms" :) ... with all due respect to Mark Knopfler

  • @tokinPRIDHAM That is so weird, I was thinking about that not so long ago...can you imagine a show with M and M, plus Ricky Julian and Bubs?? Decent!

I wonder if they influenced Mike Clattenburg regarding TPBs. Maybe we Canadians r just born with a dirty sense of humour. Wayne and Shuster were no saints either, if you see their old stuff...

  • I seen these guys live in Toronto while drinking insurmountable pints of beer.

  • Glad I thought of lookn them up on here. My bro and I used to park on the dead streets on school nights and puff the night away listening to them. I had a couple old recorded tapes of my mom and dads. Some jerk stole them at a party but luckily they're on CD. They have the Creator rollin around up there laughin hys ass off.

  • Saw these guys back in the 80s...fucking hilarious

  • Pubes.

  • I went to see them in Bells Corners in 96 at a bar called (at the time)City Slickers,We show up and the show was sold out, well after half hour a cool doorman finally let us in.It made me feel like a kid again, listening to it quietly in my room and laughing so hard,Ill always remember that show. They'll be missed by me

  • Truly, the best comedy act i ever seen. I got the chance to see them at least

3 times. They were so funny u hated to go to the bathroom ,incase u missed

something!! You dont see that in todays comedians anymre

  • I remember seeing them in Ottawa at a bar. When they left the stage for intermission, they walked past my table to go their dressing room. Blair, the bigger brother looked down at me, grinned, and said "FUCKOFF"!!!

  • @bmanmurray Gary was the bigger brother and the most likely to have done that.

  • Got 2 of the albums on vinyl & play them for my 20 ish kids to this day! Long live a Canadian comedy greatness (sorry...can't spell institution right now! Too pissed!) Having seen these two more than once @ the Fraser Arms in Van. B.C. I know for a fact they played coast to coast (don't know if they played the third coast...anyone?) Long live theboys!

  • Too many fun times around a campfire thanks to these guys. Don Macleod

  • Snuk my buddy Ben in underage to Mickey Rats in Red Deer. And seen them many times since. My mom threrw out my Fudkya hat, whcih still pisses me off. Fun times, singing their tunes around a campfire.

  • 0 people have no pubic hair

  • Gary and I were in the same home room at St. Michaels High in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia in 1960-61 . We were good friends. At that time I didn't even know he was a musician of any sort. I moved to Toronto in 1962, and never saw him again until he and Blair were appearing in Brampton around 1980, where I was living at the time. we had a nice reunion that evening. Gary was a great guy. I was so shocked when I heard he passed away, and Blair had predeceased him.

  • @barrygioportmorien1 Blair did not predecease Gary.

  • @barrygioportmorien1

Someone informed me that it was Gary who passed away first, I must have heard about Blair's passing somehow before I knew Gary had passed on. So sad, they were a couple of nice guys. Something I remember was one of my school books that the school board supplied had a cartoon drawn in it referring to George Custer, when I found out he was Gary's brother, I asked Gary to get Blair to draw me a picture, he did, it was a drawing of Kool Kat, in a zoot Suit, wish I still had it

  • Saw them in Calgary many years ago. Too many great jokes and skits to remember them all but the one I`ll never forget was them saying they loved to watch woman pee their name in the snow. Especially if their name is Alice. They love to watch them dot the i. Too funny.

  • MacLean and MacLean were such a part of the teen years in the seventies as smoking weed and jean jackets and skipping school. At least in my neck of the woods. In my opinion, all of it goes to shaping me as the person I am today. Yeah, I am a repsonsible adult etc. But learned how an when to laugh due to such high times.Thank You to MacLean and Maclean for their comic genius.Unforgettable!!

  • Saw them in London, downstairs at The Albany Regents Park. 2 nights running.

Nicest blokes ever to tell you to f--- off. Bless 'em.

  • Thank you for the years of pure laughs and honest humor..Love always..Thomas

  • I'm proud to say I got to see these good canadian kids play at the old lakeland pub. Some 17 years ago. They took forever to come out and start, because the Leafs game went into overtime. A memory I'll never forget. R.I.P boys.

  • The 1970's was the era of Comedy Records. Maclean and Maclean, Nestor Pistor, Gene Tracy, Cheech and Chong. I can go on. I got to know Gary Maclean....gentle soul. He was diagnosed with cancer, and a huge social event was held in his honor. It sold out. Gary Maclean appeared on stage with his buddy Burt. Smoking, and having no regrets. xxooFooblestheclown.

  • haha i sang this at my summer camp last year. i got some funny looks at the end

  • LOL. I heard this song about 20 years ago. I near wet my pants. I don't even think I had pubic hairs back then. Ah, the good ol' days.

  • i must have been 12 at the time & finding a cassette. a bunch of friends, my brother & i non stop laughing our asses off while listening to it. good times

  • how dom i find my favorites list on you tube, someone please help

  • God Bless Blair And Gary

  • I can relate to a song like this, because I have more pubic hair than most men!

These two guys were great musicians as well as terrific entertainers. The one

about Star Trek was hilarious! R.I.P. MacLean and MacLean and may God love

you and take you in his arms.

  • The ultimate bar band. RIP!

  • this song is the cats ass

  • @6glenn9 LMAO .. The Old Moon on Gottingen ... I remember going there and also down on Kempt Rd ... priceless.

  • have all the tapes hey i said tapes.

see them live in saskatoon back in 97 heard later that that was on of the last live shows they did. 3 buddies and i sat next to the stage sang all the songs and got really pissed drunk. they had so much fun with us that we all got to party with them after the show playing pool and drinking nto the night.

    good times.

  • Okay.

I managed a record store in the mid-80's, and a guy came in to order (as an import) the Hard-n-Heavy album by Anvil, on cassette. They must have been on the same label as MacCleans, because the guy went out to his rig with his Anvil cassette, brings it back in about 10 minutes later, and sure enough, the cassette was printed as Anvil, but the recording was of "Takin' the O out of the Country Show." Much to our customer's delight, it got played at the record store for the next few months.

  • There is just nobody that compares to our MacClean and MacClean. Rock on.

  • Saw them live in Halfax back in the day: great show!

    They deserve a revival!!!

  • A lot of things happened back in the day, man. That was one crazy day

  • yay!

  • saw them live at "wild willies" in chilliwack BC.. was a fkn party!!

  • i seen them live in surrey bc canada

  • My uncle lent me the 'Taking the o out of country' album years ago. You guys that saw them live are truly lucky. I just followed mitts61's link to Blair's art. A great loss to the world on so many levels.

  • so happy i got to see them in Moncton a few times. These guys were way ahead of their time

  • I didn't know that Blair died. MacLean & MacLean were the best! I met them at the Krone Gasthof in Lahr, Germany, back in '85. Blair drew a picture of a guy (that looked just like him) on a beermat for me that said "This is what you'll look like when you grow up". I drew a picture that said "This is what you'll look like IF you grow up". I was 12 at the time. We had a good laugh and they autographed their album Locked Up For Laughs for my dad. Wish I still had the album and beermat. RIP, Guys.

  • Blair was an incredible artist. His works hang all over the world. One amazing thing he did was grain art. You can see a few of them here...(remove spaces)...

    ucanbuyart . net / artistproducts / bmaclean / 0 / 6 /

  • Very talented people, far ahead of their time. Today with cable channels, they'd be household names around the world. The characters, Rev. Billy Vangelist, country singer Stretch Marks, and the songs, Red Cells in My Urine, I Had a Wet Dream...and Speak Impediment Rock (ARSEHOLE, is that round enough for ya?) Seen them twice at the Spruce Villa in Whitby, and my face ached after each set. Best comedians by far ever, we in Canada should honour them officially. RIP guys, thanks for the laughs!

  • maclean and maclean will NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. R.I.P gary

  • Fuck man ! All I said was I saw them live one time in a pub ! Was Years ago ! Was at the County Line in Sydney,Nova Scotia !

  • yah, was thinking the same thing?

  • There dead. Did you dig em up?

  • aw yassssssss

av no heard maclean nd maclean in fuckin ages its shit hot

  • Put it into your mouth Mrs. Murphy, it only weighs a quater of a pound. It´s got hair all around it like a turkey, and it spits when you rub it up and down.

  • Can't understand why there's such hostility between people in the midst of such a holsom, family song like this. lol

These guys were really popular with military people; when I was in the Forces I saw them three times. They were funny; the last time i saw them though they weren't so much. Hard to believe that both of them are dead now.

  • lawl funny as hell

  • How is it a parody of the Johnny Cash version when that was released in 1996 and this was released in the 1970s?

  • I saw them at the Pandora Hotel in Transcona (Winnipeg).... many nights with the boys, a few beers, and howling to these guys.

  • These guys were classic. I remember on one of their albums they said when shit becomes valuable the poor will be born without assholes. RIP guys

  • They were very popular with servicepeople when I was in the Canadian Army. I saw them twice while I was in at CFB Shilo, Manitoba. It seemd the entire base was crammed into the Juniour Ranks Club to see them.. Funny as hell! It's sad they're both gone.

  • As others have posted, I was so very saddened that YouTube was where I had to find out about the passing of Blair :(

Order of Canada??? Hell, these lads should be Knighted and made Saints!!!

This was 'rap' before anyone else even knew WTF that was ,,, or meant! YOU try memorizing these lyrics, let alone trying to perform them with "a few" under the belt!!! LOL!

The only bright spot in all of this is that we now know that heaven will finally have some proper Maritime Music!!! R.I.P. guys!

  • not a mention of their deaths in eastern canada.great comediac duo.truly will be missed.

  • Seriously, what the hell? I only found out on youtube. They shoulda been given the order of Canada (big mac, large fries, large coke). But seriously, a tribute should be held for these guys.

  • Not true. Go to globe and mail website and search both names. Great tributes there. Check out Blair's art. Both led multi-talented lives.

  • I LOVED these fucking guys. I saw them in the late 80's at Ryerson campus and also in the early 90's in Halifax...not to mention they were comedy heroes of mine well before that. The world is truly a darker place without this comedic brother duo. RIP forever, my friends.

  • Best bar band ever! I was never so drunk, nor laughing so much, ever. We saw them every chance we got. And went through a lot of draft beer in the process.

The Toronto Public Library has their Greatest Hits, but they won't circulate it as it is out of print and considered a "National Treasure", or words to that effect. So true!

  • OOOHHH MAN! this is the first i've heard of there deaths..DAAAAMMN! I to grew up to there comedic genius, very sorry to hear it, and thnx guys for everything

  • funny song real funny.

  • god rest em both...I was bought up on this music xxx

  • @tomp64 good, fucking noobs suck ballsauce :/

  • @ownedurfase like your mom?

  • Takin' the O out of Country.

Not sure what year, but a brilliantly funny album.

Dolly Parton's Tits, Diary of a Jealous Boyfried, Dog Vom etc.

Sad to hear about Blair, RIP.

  • RIP Blair. Eff you see kay why ayyyyyyyyyyyy!

  • A sad day. I saw them several times at various venues over the years in Western Canada. Almost a version of Cheech and Chong they were hilarious.
