  • That Fiji water she's using contains fluoride. Tisk tisk.

  • Hey Rose! Awesome idea but what about soaking and germinating in plastic bags? And water from plastic bottles. Isn't that a lot of waste and you'd be getting xenoestrogens from the plastic. Especially if you are soaking and acid out of the nut. It just seems wasteful and slightly dangerous? What do you think? Thanks so sharing your gift :)

  • Just found out how to make almonds even better for you simply by soaking them in bottled water overnight. Amazing what you learn!!

  • i watch her videos cuz she's f**kin cute when she talks. cute voice too. that's all i watch these for. yay for almonds

  • Over the course of the soaking, drain and rinse the nuts or seeds two (2) or three (3). Each time you do this, make sure you rinse them until the water drains clear. This is especially important with nuts and seeds that soak for longer amounts of time.

  • Use raw, preferably organic, nuts and seeds. Make enough for three days only. Use a glass or stainless steel bowl or jar (plastics may contain toxins). Rinse your nuts or seeds (purified or distilled water is generally preferred). Place your nuts and seeds in in the bowl or jar and then cover it with something breathable, like a towel or pantyhose. Let them soak according to the following schedule (all times approximate).

  • You can't get raw almonds anymore, unless they are from Spain or you "know someone."

  • I just got some raw almonds from Whole Foods yesterday that were from the US. I would keep looking around until you find them. It's a shame that they are heating treating at so many companies now.

  • Yeah, but with the mandatory pasteurization laws in California now, even if they say raw, they might not be. I bought some at a store, but I don't think they are actually raw even though it says "raw" on the package, they are probably not due to the pasteurization law. It doesn't really even matter too much to me since they are so much more expensive, but I'd make sure to ask how about heating process.

  • @WellnessWithRose Still tho, soaking should remove the enzyme inhibitors, even from pastuerized almonds, like with other 'dead' nuts like walnuts. It is next to impossible to crack a walnut without partially breaking(and therefore killing) the nut but soaking still removes the enzyme inhibitors.

  • Stevia... pronounced stev-ia, not steve-ia is 30-45 times sweeter than sugar in it's leaf form, and 300 sweeter when it is concentrated.

But I'm sure it comes in other potencies.

  • Very informative! Adding the cinnamon is a great suggestion.

  • so do you drain the nuts after the 8_ hours then eat? or carry the bag aorund with the water still in?

  • It's amazing. I have noticed an immediate difference in taking the skin off the nuts.

  • Who knew??? can't wait to try it!!

  • That's something I would have never thought of!!! This is such a great idea for snacks! I even give them to my kids! It's our alternative to chips and cookies!!!

  • OMG! I didn't know this! Great tips, Rose. Thanks for helping me keep my health on track!

Oh and PS- that article on your WellnessWithRose website about sweetners changed my world!
