  • I have some very rare and unique footage of this exact same thing in my 75 gallon tank set-up! They are absolutely breeding, as you mention. For those who claim they will not do so under water where you can see it happen, and must be in a sand burrow... check my videos, and rethink that theory again. Very cool footage you have! Glad to finally see someone else capture this event too! Subbed you, feel free to do the same if interested, and be sure to check my videos, as I have plenty to see!

  • Do you have salt in that water ?

  • I thought only humans mated in a face to face position.

  • @madax92sx no they all died unfortunately

  • GROW UP ITS CALLED LIFE TRIZAN123

  • my crabs did that and my female now has eggs

  • @Natashow did you get any luck hatching them? i just bought a male and female and im hoping they will mate.

  • xxxalmixxx they are mating if he was eating her his what ever that thing is called would not be under her

  • yuck!!!! u dont have 2 tell wich is in wich position!!!!! yuck!!! yuck!!! and double yuck!!

  • Good tank set up !!!

  • did she release the eggs or eat them?

  • I had sand in mine but they didnt dig they just run

  • hey JERK

  • xxxAlmixxx look your stupid iv had my for three months and still alive so shut up !!! sorry but ya

    did she ever laid them?

  • Lol you're retarded. The female is probably dead and the male is eating her. Fiddler crabs don't last very long in fresh water, and if they were to breed, they'd hang out for two weeks in a SAND burrow that the male made. You wouldn't be able to just watch them have sex.

  • @xxxAlmixxx i thought the male died?

  • know what's weird? in my class we keep fiddler crabs. and my groups crabs had male on top, female on bottom, belly side up, stayed there for one day and both died that way. :|

  • I made like a beach for my tank.. half land half water.. also it has to be brackish water, they cant live in freshwater... Check out my video, Plus those are red clawed crabs not fiddler crabs in the video.

  • those are fiddlers the first one just looks like a red, if you notice the giant claw on the last one in the vid, and rediwyaw the gravel is fine. im posting a few vid response if my crabitat

  • you should swap the Gravel with some fine white sand, they love that. They need somewhere to dig.

  • These crabs need sand so they can dig deep not gravel but it a good video all the same

  • i wanna set up a fiddler crab tank do u have to have a little bit of water or can u have alot. plsssssssssss respond

  • i have one in my 30 gallon community tank and he loves it. he can climb on my plants and my tank is full of water. make sure that you have an air pump to oxygenate the water so he can breath otherwise he needs acess to air. as for the sand, it is not necesarry, i have small gravel and he burries himself under my large rocks. ive had him quite some time, jus becareful b/c they will climb out of the tank

  • ya i have a 55 gallon full of water and my fildler carb is fine

  • its best to have both water and land available for the crab =D

  • me too. mine live in a critter keeper

  • fiddler crabs need sand, not gravel, they need to dig.

  • where do you get advice about how to set a tank for fiddler crabs?

  • is it possible to raise the eggs in captivity?

  • I don't know, we never had any luck with it.
