  • ooooo

  • Thanks for teaching me that I've been wanting to learn it for a while. Oh also does anyway know what SG he has?

  • @CameronS654321 it's a Gibson SG Special. Its a great guitar. I have got it and it's awesome ;)

  • @Geralt133

Me too. 400€ (600$) cheaper but all the same. Jost not adorned the same way.

  • @CameronS654321 SG means solid guitar if thats any help?

  • Middle finger the G string

  • @MontegoJoker14 hahahah

  • Awesome! I learnt it today! Thank you so much... ^_^

  • whath que es lo que dice no se ingles

  • is that a reissue of the 50's SG ?

  • @kennytheamazing que dices?

  • @juniferjoni pregunta: es esa una sg de los 50' s?

obviamente le vas a tener que responder en ingles.. ya que no entiende español

  • You can hear it & learn it better if he just played it up to speed once, both licks together without interuptus humongus, just do it.

  • Will you Just post playing the song in time?

  • i dont no why he always uses the same guitar if he has a lot of them behind him, anyway he is like we say in argentina : un groso (something like very succesful)

  • i know maaan. people addicted to distortion. i hate that too

  • i got lost

  • :D my last names Goode!

  • @Justbngoode so ?

  • @RrVvEeNn just sharing info -_-

  • Hey buddy .....you make very simple ......... thank you so much

  • Comment removed

  • too much gain!

  • awsome thanks alot dude! your a great teacher

  • i got that guitar

  • this is because he recorded all videos in one day :-)

  • i know its a problem especially cos im the shyest out of my friends the stuff i come out with makes them nearly throw sometimes

  • Relax kid. everyone goes through the same stage too. Its all part of growing from a child into an adult. The in between stage is confusing for everyone, not just you. Theres nothing wrong with you.

  • he's a great teacher.....nd if he starts to make full video lesson nd create his own channel i bet it will be one of the highest subscribed!

  • you should also put the tablature of what you are playing, so the people can learn to read music and use tablature to play without being sit at their computer!!

  • Can you chill the fuck out? he's trying to help you learn to play. its for begginers. so shut your trap stupid bitch.

  • Relax.. You're on the internet..

  • well, he got a point. when you going to learn a song, dont just learn the intro, thats just sad.

  • its good pratice for fingering

  • yuck

  • you have a dirty mind lol.

  • We know what fingers are, you don't need to point at your finger every time ...

  • he thinks we are 4 year olds and dont know what fingers are what

  • dude!!! my lil sisters 4 and she knows what fingers are! maybe like, 1-2 yr olds

  • well, he is the expert

  • Nah, many people can dó what he does, I can take out songs just listen to them, simple, and the reason I'm here is becuase I just watchin' videos with Chuck and this guys comes up, though he was goin' to do a cover or somethin'

  • The riff should be played clean. I'm so sick of guys addicted to distortion pedals.

  • True that man

  • @tomthefunky yeah i agree i like distortion but only where it's needed (Y)

  • @tomthefunky fuck clean, distort it up!!

  • @tomthefunky The joy of playing guitar is learning a song, then adding your own flavour to it. The song might have originally have been played 'clean', who cares? It sounds even better with distortion....

  • @WeeSteekyAja: My comment has 52 thumbs up. I'm obviously not alone in my opinion. You misunderstand my point. Of course you can add distortion if you want. You can add an actor reciting Lincoln's Gettysburgh Address for all I care. The question is SHOULD you add distortion to this song. In my opinion, the only effect you need for Chuck songs is an overdriven tube amp. That's it.

I like to play Chuck songs like Chuck. If I want to sound like Tony Iommi doing Chuck, I'll study Tony Iommi.

  • @WeeSteekyAja Nope, it originally had some disrtortion but not high gain or super overdrive shit.

  • @dubbly1 - I suppose it's just a matter of taste!

I play it with my band. I use a lot of distortion on it, but in the context of of the sound of my band, it sounds amazing and always gets a good reaction.

Any time I play a song, I try to add my own flavour to it.

Check out my bands videos... The band is called 'Happy Shrapnel'... The songs are Come together, Sunshine of Your Love, and Fortunate Son....

  • @tomthefunky the riff has a small amount of overdrive. besides. he plays how he wants.

  • @tomthefunky nope a rlly rlll ligth gain like 0.1 an try picking behind instead of middel and yes he used to much distortion. only in the song it is used a litte it just give that boost

  • @tomthefunky

Whilst this guy is using far too much distortion, I disagree that it should be played clean - Chuck Played it with a mild overdrive

  • @tomthefunky Agreed. The original Chuck Berry version has a little bit of distortion, but not like fucking high gain overdrive etc.

  • @tomthefunky - I agree with that. The distortion sound came about because it works better with the acoustics of outdoor concerts.

  • @tomthefunky actually I think it should be played with vox us blues amp with 15% distortion

  • 3:27

  • y do you have ducktape on your arm?

  • its a tatoo

    hahaha

  • oh lol

  • hahahahaha

it is a little strange though

  • It would be awesome if expert village would also link us to some tabs that match these videos

  • hey royyyy

  • expert village rocks!

  • Jajajja......Amazin you are good!!!

    This man is Amazing

  • great lesson really easy

  • Back to the future :P

  • is this a not too easy begginer song or what?? i'm trying to teach my little brother who just got his guitar for christmas . he wants to learn it by request

  • This (version) has got to be to hard for beginners I'd say,but there's gotta be a hundred different one's ..Fretkillr's my favorite, don't know if he covers this song or not. Excellent choice!,this song is the God-father of rock-n-roll songs.Practice and patience,lil'bro..Ear AND fingers, don't quit

  • use ur ear... this song is easy...

  • i just started to use my ear and now its become pretty easy to figure out stuff but dude if your a begginer or a somewhat decent player it wouldnt be so easy. i love figuring things out by ear though rather than tab because with tab it takes so much longer to learn something simple rather than just figuring it out

  • That how all the guitar gods did it, one worn out LP at a time..

  • What do you mean "this version" if you use your ear and figure it out this is pretty much exactly how chuck plays the intro part on the studio version

  • I meant this video, out of all the two million versions on you-tube, does the best job of breaking it down, for me. The tube rocks, wish it was here forty years ago, I'd still suck at guitar ; )

  • i know what you mean. websites like youtube and vanderbilly made me alot more knowledgeable and better at playing guitar. If you wanna check out a good lesson of johnny b goode check out "machardcase" 's lesson. Its pretty much exactly like the original. The only thing that he doesnt teach is the little fills in the chorus but those are pretty easy to figure out. See ya man

  • Thanks for the "inputs" ; ) I'll check 'em out..Chuck Berry doesn't get enough recognition ,,except from Keith Richards ; } .Have you heard Johnny Winter do it, his was the first version I heard on the radio..- Smokin' !

  • Ha, good ol keef! I'll check out johnny winter's version, havent heard it

  • damn i was wondering when it would sound like the actual version, i think im gonna have a wait a little bit longer to play this

  • thx for this lesson great job the way you explain it aswell good to see different ways of playing this so ppl can mix it up :)

  • lol i wanted to learn this after seeing back to the future

  • dude my fingers are bleeding from tring to playit fast

  • i know i think iv played the opening rif at least 200 times and i still dont have it right augh!!!!

  • ahhhhhh like ringing a bell go go go jonny go!!!!!!!

  • At one point he said 9-8-7 but he played 9-8-6

  • You're right, he did

  • Rock & Roll!!!

  • reminds me of back to the future!!

  • s my favorit movie ever

  • OMG you rock

  • great tutorial

  • WOW! I've always loved this song and now I'm playing it! Sounds cool, cheers Joe!

  • Isn't this song played i B?

  • nope. A major, it only said "B" in back to the future, because of Michael J. Fox's voice pitch.

  • actually it's played in B flat originally, and Michael J Fox did NOT sing nor play it BTTF..

  • yeah he did!!!!

  • no, Michael J. Fox clearly says in the bonus material that he didn't play nor sing it. I i believe MJF more than urban myths and fan fiction, sorry.

  • i heard him say he learned it note for note and that blond dude taught him!!!!!

  • He says something like "the music was already prerecorded and i had to learn to play it note by note". Mark Campbell did the actual playing in the movie. Do a google on Mark Campbell and BTTF.

  • AWESOME im not the only one wanting to know how to play this song just because it was on BTTF lol

    i love this song though

  • i love this tutoreul its the best on youtube
