I just researched a comment made by a Vatican priest who is in charge of their private astronomy conservatory. Pope John Paul signed an official document stating that Evolution is no longer a theory but a fact. I wonder where is his authority to authorize something adversely opposing to the scripture. I went on the web to verify it. I applaud you John Macarthur, we are living in the age of major deceptions. See Bart Erhman, who the moslems are using to discredit the Bible. Crazy out there
@prairiemark You're Crazy....BTY what was Mary's sermons like? How many disciples did she have? When did she die on the Cross for my sins? What miracles did she perform? Who did she Baptize? When did she "raise from the dead" (she hasn't yet - she will at the Rapture)? Mary found "favor" with the Father, just as Noah did. Genesis 6:8. You are Blaspheming the Holy Spirit, which leads people to Christ, NOT Mary. You've just committed the "unforgivable sin". Matthew 12:31
@JesusHoldMyHand1 You are not the one who determines whos sins can be forgiven or not forgiven. My sins are covered by the Blood of Christ...he is my savior and advocate before the Father. Catholics do not worship Mary. Mary is not the Savior....but she brought the Savior into the world as a willing vessel. She is highly favored by God.
@prairiemark Great!!!! That means you never thank Jude for favors granted, bow before any statues, long to kiss the ring of your pagan pope. Do you partake of the "Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary", pagan mass, apparitions of Mary.......and since you denounce all these disgusting, pagan, unbiblical adventures, PRAISE THE LORD.
@prairiemark Do you realize that Islam is saying that Mary is part of the Trinty, and their endtime prophecy says that Mary will come before Isa, their Christ, which is revelation's false prophet. There is a real threat for christians who are worshipping Mary, that they can easily fall prey to endtime deceptions. Mary was a chosen vessel of God, but she was there at Pentacost to receive the Holy Spirit. Christ is the only one born without sin. We all needed a savior, including Mary.
No saint ever heard a prayer from anybody? Rev. 5:8 - the prayers of the saints (on heaven and earth) are presented to God by the angels and saints in heaven. This shows that the saints intercede on our behalf before God, and it also demonstrates that our prayers on earth are united with their prayers in heaven. (The “24 elders” are said to refer to the people of God – perhaps the 12 tribes and 12 apostles - and the “four living creatures” are said to refer to the angels.)
This is very, very sad. This pope devoted his whole life to honoring a dead woman, believing that in doing so, would endear himself to her, giving him an "in" into heaven. How very, very sad.
"Check out my YouTube channel/playlists and websites for present-truth materials, Three Angels' Messages and God's last-mercy warning to His people in these last days.
Papacy = Antichrist / Little Horn / Beast from the Sea
Roman Catholicism = Whore of Babylon

Ellen G. White, 1827-1915 = End-time Prophet Sent of God
7th-day Sabbath = Seal of God

The pope does not mean that hell is your life now without God. He means that it exists, but can we speak of its location? What we can say is that it is a total loneliness and denial of Christs gift of salvation. And it is not, as the pope says, our duty to tell who is there. As Christians we may hope that nobody is.
"Mary has nothing to do with the salvation of anybody"? Well, I belive that our Lord Jesus who is God and the saviour was born by her so eventually she must have something to do with his incarnation. He chosed to be dependent of her Yes. Mary cooperated with God because she gave birth to his son. Did he force her?
It is not true that you rarely see Christ in catholic churches. Search at "catholic chuch altar" google images and in every single picture Christ is at the center behind the altar.
@maximjaruta Catholicism is not Christian, but a Satanic pretender wearing Christianity as a mask. Here on You Tube, you can see this explained in "Know Your Enemy: The Fuel Project," parts 26-28. (And by "enemy," they do not mean other people, but Satan. And it is Satan who is pulling the puppet strings of the Catholic church.
@tamething1 It is of course absurd that satan would find his most urgent mission in proclaming the risen Christ as God and that we should turn away from evil. The Church have changed the ancient superstitious meaning of those symbols you are talking about. It is a way to transform the pagan landscape to now turn to the trinitarian God. That a symbol of the sun should be banned for the rest of human existanse just because people used it for wrong worship in the past is quite superstitious to
@tamething1 If you believe that, then you will have to believe that the apostolic fathers who learned from the original apostles were not christians. Wherever the bishop shall appear, there let the multitude also be; by the bishop, or by one to whom he has entrusted it. Wherever the bishop shall appear, there let the multitude also be; even as, wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church." Ignatius of Antioch, Epistle to the Smyrneans, 8:2 (c. A.D. 110).
@StAugustine79 I was a Baptist for a number of decades......I studied at a Bible college. They minimize church history and the church fathers. Most of them dont even know who St ignatius of Antioch is.....I was told not to read so much church history when I went to a Protestant Fundamentalist church.
1 Timothy 2:5 For there is 1 God & 1 MEDIATOR btween God & men the man Christ JESUS
Acts 4:12 Neithr is there salvation n ANY other for theres NONE other NAME under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved.
Luke 11:27,28 And it came to pass as he(Jesus)spake these things a certain woman.. lifted up her voice & said to him(Jesus) "Blessed is the womb that bare thee & the paps which thou hast sucked. BUT he(Jesus) said, Yea rather, blessed are they that HEAR the WORD of GOD & KEEP IT.
the bible also says in Jesus' word "I am the way the truth and the life, no man can come to the father except through me" so why both going through a dead Mary/saints with your prayers when Jesus says CLEARLY that he is the only way?
Ok I wanna clear something up..ive been reading the comments and they all say that mary is blessed.. she may be blessed as you say but why do you catholic people pray to her? doesnt the bible say that everyone is with sin and that christ was the only one that did not sin? and it also says the wages of sin is death so why would you pray to a dead person..im not a scholar or anything but im curious.
@pharmfarm59538 your best bet is to put ALL your FAITH and TRUST in CHRIST, and Him ALONE! He is the way, the truth, and the life.....and, there is NO OTHER! May God open your eyes and heart. His Grace is enough!
@pharmfarm59538 I suggest you do some research on the matter. I'm serious. I am not against you. I am, like Mr. MacArthur, warning you and anyone involved with the RCC or this 'new" Reformation of the Church. It is all apostacy! Be warned!
@pharmfarm59538 John MacArthur, and not just him, but many are recognizing a new movement going on in the Church today....it is called the Ecunemical (Emergent Church) movement. It involves alot of protestant denominations that, like the Roman Church, are moving away from sound biblical doctrine and embracing worldly philosophies. Jesus warned us in the last days many would fall away from the faith. That there would be a great apostacy to take place. It is happening...and happening now!
@pharmfarm59538 I was raised in the Roman Church, and I did my home work when I left. John MacArthur gives a very honest and truthful assessment of the Roman Church. He is on the money. Roman Catholicism is NOT the Christianity of our Lord and Saviour Christ Jesus. They have moved far away from the truth of scripture and have adopted the Pope's decisions on matters of truth and doctrine: the vain philosophies and doctrines of men!
@pharmfarm59538 And what "balanced biew of Catholic teaching" are you talking about?? Everything John MacArthur is talking about is true. Catholics belong to a "cult" and are very proud of it. People who live in sin always have an explanation, excuses and add a lot of "but"s to their statements. Jesus Christ is GOD, NOT Mary. Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church, NOT Peter or the Pope. Jesus Christ forgives sin, NOT MARY, NOT A CATHOLIC priest or "father". Cult worship.
@FreedomFighterReturn --The additions were questions added later on, but the baptismal formula is the very words of Christ used from the begining; Great book though; Im also reading his new tome on the Holy Bible titled "Verbum Domini". I invite you to read that as well.
@iSATANRIKUZUSU Again, come up out of her! When Christ comes back he will destroy her and those who remain within her. And, use the time you are still there to preach the truth and pray that it doesn't fall on deaf ears. Please, for your souls sake and the sake of other souls. Find a new church and when you do make sure it is not part of the Ecunemical (Emergent) Church movement. Calvary Chapels are sound church's. We are saved by grace through faith in Christ ALONE!
@iSATANRIKUZUSU If you are a bible believing Christian and born again and filled with the Holy Spirit, then you need to come up out of the Catholic church. I am not trying to be cruel. Come up out of her! And, when you do, try and bring as many other Catholics with you as you can. Please take heed. Mr. MacArthur is not preaching folly. He speaks the truth! The Reformers recognized this truth many years ago! Why do you think they seperated themselves from her?
@iSATANRIKUZUSU There are none so blind as those who REFUSE to see; none so deaf as those who REFUSE to hear! Your prayer is futile. Jesus is LORD and there is no other! Roman Catholicism is of the DEVIL. Come up out of her or perish!
it was Mary who was interceding at the Wedding Feast at Cana...She tells Jesus they have no wine, Jesus says, Woman, my time has not yet come, Mary then turns to the wine stewards and says, do as He says, Mary was interceding, and She is still interceding today, for all of us, we Catholics pray for all, for we are all sinners, there is only one way to the Father, and its through Jesus Christ, the Holy Mother of God does and will continue to pray for all to Her Son or Lord Jesus Christ.
@lightzZz10 Are you NOT LISTENING TO JOHN McCARTHUR? Have you not heard a word he said? How foolish you are. There are none so blind as those who refuse to see; and, none so DEAF as those who refuse to hear!!!! Mary intercedes for NO ONE!!!!!! Roman Catholicism is a CULT; a dangerous cult that is leading millions of people straight to HELL!
@proverbs1824 the Whore of Babylon is (Britain, America and our decadent West) and the Scarlet Beast she rides is (International Communism) satan controls both and tries very hard to conceal their true indentities. why do you think satan wants to lead the Catholic Church, because its the One True Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, i don't see satan running around American Baptist/Pentecostal/Methodist/Mormon Churches wanting to run them, as well as TV Ministries. He knows RCC is the Holy Seat.
@lightzZz10 What your preaching to me is Armstrongism. Reread your scripture. The Roman Church is a self governing state and it sits on seven hills. The scripture is referring to the Catholic church and those who embrace her (the harlots), such as those involved in the Ecunemical movement (Emerging Church) which is the undoing of the Reformation.
@lightzZz10 So the fact that the RCC is blatantly run by satan means that it must be the "Holy Seat"? The Holy Seat is currently in the heavens you fool! P.S.- the mormon church (like papism) is a child of satan and most Baptist/Protestant churches are also swept with unbelief and heresy. Satan, through his servants, wishes to influence and degrade all of Christendom. How much easier it would be for him if all of Christendom was in the hands of one man (the Roman pope).
@WorshipInTruth doesn't mean we Catholics stop being Catholics, and we Catholics are very well aware of whats going on in the RCC, the fact satan wants that title should answer all your questions about the Catholic Church, save your time trying to label us with that pagan/idol crap you bible beaters love to do, we're still praying for you though...your fool i'm not, yet i will die for Jesus Christ, what say you?...
@lightzZz10 My channel was created specifically to offend the child of hell such as yourself. I only hope that you watch the videos, read Holy Scripture (AV 1611 for English speakers) and that through the grace of God your spirit is convicted of its error and you become a born against believer in Iesus Christ, putting your faith solely on the firm ground of Messiah's work at Calvary and not in the lies of this world.
WHAT!! He says there are no images of Christ in Catholic churches!!(around 7 minutes) Ummm...it is the protestants who took the crucifixes out of their Churches!!
@sonofmary1 ya, they are all glorifications of Lucifer. See, Jesus has nothing to do with a 'nimbus'. A 'nimbus' glorifies the sun. Not the son. The Sun is Lucifer. [Isaiah 14:12] [2 Corinthians 11:14] A nimbus is what a halo is, and also the broom Harry Potter rides in his movies. It's all very hush hush.
If Mary is your life and your hope you are in a seriously dark place.
Christ is the way and the life, Christ is the blessed Hope. Mary is simply the handmaiden of God, who was blessed in that she was chosen of God to be the vessel for the God to manifest Himself in the flesh.
The RCC has elevated Mary to a position she was never given. The RCC has placed her and the pope in the position of God.
Mary is most blessed but she is not our life, nor our hope. Nor is she queen
@HouseHaunter484 cite? I just go by glorification. Mary is a nobody in the grand scheme, by why the halos over her head? why the crowns? why the 'Mary of the Grove' displays at RC churches? halos mean divinity or sainthood right? It's a farce because the RC church is 100% pagan and their real female deity (inner religion, not goyim) is Semiramis/Diana. Mary is a cover for that.
Gee - I wonder why Luke simply screams that the Ark of the Covenant prefigures Mary in his Gospel. I wonder who that "woman" is in Genesis who has total "emnity" with satan, and who will crush the head of the serpent. Again, I wonder who that "woman" is who is "Queen of Heaven in Revelation (gosh, right after a discussion of the Ark of the Covenant).
.
Gee, I wonder why "queen mothers" (Solomon, David) have such prominence.
@Dystopiologist She was his mother. She gets respect, but that's it. Morals do not change. Why does the RC church change Moses 10 Commandments? Why do they promote such vapid idolatry? YOU have one redeemer, and it's not Mary.
And of course Catholics don't "worship" Mary or consider her the Redeemer. But she played an important part in God's plan. Catholics follow the Bible more closely here.
@Dystopiologist Your Pope makes albums of devotional music for Mary. You are in the Whore of Babylon friend. Catholicism is Universalism is NWO. The Pope and your 'faith' are pagan, and have nothing to do with my Saviour. Rev 17-18. Why are their so many images of Mary with stigmata wounds in Latin America? She's Semiramis from Babylon. She's in the NY harbor. She's on the US Capitol. She rides the Beast.
Interesting how I can refute every point you make, but it goes straight over your head without comment. It's clear by your responses that no amount of Scripture or research will change your mind.
I would suggest that if you venture into this kind of territory (polemics), whereby you condemn people and trash their Faith, you might want to be sure that you know what you're talking about - especially when this immediately gets pointed out as you post your comments.
.
That's a sign that you have something to learn. Go with it and learn something, rather than being obstinant.
@Dystopiologist now it's 'hate' with you? I've sought truth and nothing else. What I found and continue to seek is Yeshua and His teachings. This chat is done. Your Universalist Pope and you can have a nice day.
@sonofmary1 Who is the remnant of Mary’s seed? If this is Mary tit says she will come to earth flee to the wilderness and be persecuted by satan. Mary she will receive two wings and fly into the wilderness to hide from satan for 3 years; satan is then to make war with Mary and cause her to be carried away; then the earth helps Mary, Is that what you believe?
What you are saying, if so, is that Mary will reappear in the end times and lead her child (or someone) through 3 years of trouble.
@sonofmary1 Women often represent religious systems in Rev. Jezebel and false teaching, Great harlot and false religions, the Bride with the Church. Israel is also represented as a woman in Isaiah 54, Jeremiah 3, Ezek 16 and Hosea 2.
Structurally, (Gen 37) the twelve stars are the sons of Israel, the 12 tribes of Israel. The woman is representative of Israel. This prophecy only makes sense if the woman is Israel and not Mary. Unless Mary is to physically return to earth and lead Israel.
What we can say for sure is that the child that the woman gives birth to is Jesus. Why can't we see that the woman who gives birth to Jesus is Mary.This war between the serpent and the woman, depicted in rev, goes back to Gen 3,where God says to the serpent "I will put enmity between you and the woman,between her seed and your seed." Her seed is the Church, the New Israel.This was done at the cross,where Jesus says to the beloved disciple,"Behold, your mother."
@sonofmary1 Because the woman flees to the wilderness to hide for 3 years. Is Mary here to flee? Is there any indication she will come back here or flee? Who, in scripture, flees into the wilderness? Who is supernaturally protected from the AC and Satan? The one who flees is Israel. Forcing Mary to be the woman in this case simply does not fit. Like it or not the church (yours or mine) is not the new Israel. Daniel 9, Ezekiel 37-38 and Romans 9 show clearly Israel is still Israel.
@sonofmary1 If Gen is about Mary then she had multiple children and a painful delivery as is stated as the curse to the woman. “To the woman He said: “I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; in pain you shall bring forth children; ....”
I know the RCC teaches the woman is Mary but unless she comes back to earth and flees into the wilderness for over 3 years (oddly just like Israel does) then woman in Rev is Israel. Mary does not flee to the wilderness so it cannot be her
Although I disagree, I respect your interpretation. I would ask that you respect the interpretation of the Catholic Church, something that John Mac seems unable to do. I used to be evangelical(I still am), but then I found the truth in the Catholic Church. But even as a protestant, who believed in Sola Fide, I still respected Catholicism, as the only place in the entire canon where the words faith and alone appear next to one another, the words Not By, come before.
@sonofmary1 I can respect you as an individual and, since we are in America, I respect your right to believe anything you so deem worthy.
But unfortunately the teachings and doctrines of the Catholic church are not within the scope of the teachings of Christ or the apostles so the catholic church must fall into the grouping of Gal 1:6-8 and others and be avoided.
So, while i used to believe in Sola Fide, I respected those who did not, as the Catholic Church had her favorite verses, and I had my favorite verses. My problem was this: Who am I to interpret scripture all by myself? I can read the Bible in Greek and Hebrew, as i attended protestant seminary, and yet the biggest thing I learned was how little i actually knew. The Bible was written over 1500 yrs, in 3 different languages, reflecting customs that in many ways are foreign to us.
@sonofmary1 You don't interpret the Bible by yourself. Remember the Holy Spirit is here to guide and teach you. The more I understand the more I realize I do not know.
So in all that study and your familiarity with Greek and Hebrew you do not see the impossibility in having Mary as the woman in Rev 12? You don't see a problem with her not being here to flee or to be in the wilderness?
You have abandoned the logic and scriptural support for Rev 12 for the unsupported words of a man
I am nothing. My faith is nothing. My intellect is nothing. I am a sinner. If my faith alone saves me, I am in deep trouble. It is by grace and grace alone. Yet if we do not COOPERATE with grace, we blaspheme. Who am I to interpret scripture all by myself? Peter says point blank we are not to do this. Paul says point blank the Church is our foundation. Then my eyes started to open. I saw deep humility and Charity in the Church.
@sonofmary1 You can say by grace and grace alone but that is not the RCC teaching. That is not the teaching of the system you are in. The RCC teaching is grace + works. Your statement has you condemned by the Pope. Christ is the foundation not the Church.
I saw the Church as a continuation, a glorious adventure, and the Apostles laying the foundation of the Church Christ, Holy Spirit guiding her.I read some of the Church Fathers, and my jaw hit the floor.These men were Catholics.St Ignatius of Antioch,I beg you to read him, studied under John, as the NT was still being written.Did he practice Sola Scriptura?How could he?His is the first written source of the word Catholic.He came from the same place that coined the term Christian.
I once believed that Catholics were trying to be their own savior. We would accuse them of trying to be "little Christs." Ummm....That is what the word "Christian" means. Did Jesus have a high view of celibacy? Well, I don't know any respected Church teaching Jesus was married. No, he was celibate. And celibate for a reason, because he was already married..to the Church. I then got it. Our priests literally imitate Christ. Just as Jesus commanded them to do.
@sonofmary1 So priests are little Christ because they are mostly celibate?
The true standard in the bible would scream in disagreement, they have made themselves obstacles to the truth of Christ by teaching not Christ's truth but the catholic doctrine. For spiritual matters who are we to call Father? RCC calls the pope Holy Father, yet God says all men are liars and are sinners.
Who does the Bible say is the only one who is good?
No. The Church does teach grace and grace alone. The church does not teach FAITH ALONE. This is from the catechism: "No one can merit the initial grace which is at the origin of conversion.
The woman of rev 12:
1.Gives birth to Jesus
2.And the rest of her offspring are those that keep the commandments of God and bear witness to the testimony of Jesus.The last time i checked the State of Israel does not bear witness to the testimony of Jesus.
@sonofmary1 The fleeing of Israel into the wilderness is end the period of tribulation that Christ uses to bring Israel back to Him. Israel flees, not the church, into the wilderness and at the very end as the AC is about to destroy the remnant of God's chosen people (1/3 of Israel) the cornered Israel calls on the Messiah (the one who comes in the name of the LORD) at that point Christ will come and they (Israel) will see the one whom they have pierced and know He is God. It is Israel!
Romans 9-16 shows that the Church has not replaced Israel. The church is not spiritual Israel. In the end all will believe in Christ but the promises of God to Israel as not conditional (some are some are not). If the church had replaced Israel there would be no real need in the prophecy of Daniel 9, nor for many other scriptures. The teaching of replacement theology is heresy, Romans 9-16 spells that out quite clearly.
1) Why do you use a version of the 10 Commandments only 400 years old?
.
2) Why do you use a Bible with 6 Books missing?
.
You don't know what I'm talking about, do you? What I'm saying is that the so-called "reformers" CHANGED doctrine. Johnny Mac is simply wrong - I'm convinced knowingly so.
You discuss Romanism/Catholicism likes it's Christianity. It's not.
That 'religion' worships a man in a Dagon fish hat, a man called Mithraic "Papa", and called "Pontificus Maximus" as Rome's leader.
Exodus 20:1-17 (KJV1611) Commandment 3 - "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.". The RCC omits this one.
"No graven image"? I wonder why God instructed the Israelites to make figures of animals and place them on the Ark of the Covenant.
.
I also wonder why God told the Israelites to look at the image of a bronze serpent held up by Moses (which was a type for Christ) - and all who did so would be healed by God.
.
Sounds like you've missing the point of what idolatry is.
@Dystopiologist Dead 'saints' are idols, the Ark of the Covenant is clearly no such thing, it's furniture. Clearly, no one is instructed to idolize it.
The serpent was an evil symbol and has an untrustworthy reputation in the flesh. This was a symbol for the people of the death of sin.
All symbols/instruments of salvation in the Torah were bronze or bronze covered.
See, Yeshua was made in a likeness of sin, but this was only a likeness of evil. Not an idol.
Oh, and thanks for bringing the 10 Commandments up - it was the Reformers that changed this only 400 years ago! Why did they do that?? The Catholic rendering is unchanged in 2000 years.
.
Of course Luther didn't hesitate to simply throw books of the Bible out too...
Mary is Babylonian Semiramis to the inner sanctums. She's a good person, but not divine one iota. Pope JPII mainly expanded paganism and had all the powers-that-be in concordance. So to speak.
@makahru Very true, and it goes back to heresies that popped up in Rome around the time of Paul, gnostic heresies that were heavily based on the Babylonian mystery religion. What does it say on the Great Whore's forehead in Revelation?
same letters in satanic are in vatican except for the s & v which i bleve stand for V-ile S-nake. It is the seat of satan and modern day babylon. "COME OUT" is the last cry of Jesus Christ, out ONLY mediator and savior. Mary is dead in the grave and the dead know nothing. Satanic deception of the entire world. PREACH Pastor Macarthur!
Since MacArthur knows that Mary nor any other Saint heard intercessory prayers.. I invite him, and all protestants who believe like him, to read Lk 7:1-10 and witness the power of intercessory prayer; how it is biblical, how it is canonical, and how it is truth.
I am astounded to think that MacArthur doesn't believe in intercessory prayer when millions of Catholics upon millions more Orthodox have prayed for him, pray for him now, and will continue to pray for him long after he's gone.
Jesus says to pray for our enemies. I honestly question if MacArthur has ever done that.
I'm sure that MacArthur prays for pope to repent and convert to Christ! Can you find one verse in the New Testament that describes prayer to for or to the people who are dead?
We have all read it.....& understood it correctly.
It is you who should read it again. Pay particular attention to the words of Jesus - "I have not found so great "FAITH".
It's a mystery why you have interpreted the account to have anything to do with "intercession" when it's clearly an account that demonstrates great "faith" in Jesus
The Centurion's mention of commanding his subordinates was in recognition of Jesus' great authority
His use of a messenger was a demonstration of his humility
Expressing that he was not worthy of Jesus' presence. The correlation would be with the fact of us not being worthy to stand before God the Father. Thus, the scripture teaches that Jesus is our "advocate" who pleads on our behalf before the Father. Jesus is the counselor who intercedes between man & the Judge
All Protestants invite you to come out of that system of oppressive concealment of the truth. It is from having thrown that off that the Protestant tradition of "knowing" was born
Whom do you think you are in this story? Are you an outside observer looking in? Or are you the centurion asking with humility those who have favor to intercede on your behalf?
It always strikes me odd, and it did growing up Lutheran, how Protestants view the stories in the Bible and how in almost every circumstance they miss cast themselves in the story
The centurion did not seek out Jesus only; he sought out those who knew him to help him first. That must be understood.
It always strikes me odd, and it did growing up Catholic, how Catholics/Orthodox "believers" view the "accounts" in the Bible as mere "stories" and how in almost every circumstance they cast themselves as the inquisitive, anti Semitic, boy's lover..."good guys"!
I also have yet to find a Protestant who can tell me what faith is and means; so far no Protestant has been able to qualify that term for me.
They claim the Catholic (I'm not Catholic - I'm Orthodox) church is just doctrine and dogma, yet sadly most Protestants do not know that faith is a mutually loving relationship with God.
And relationships are not built in a day; they grow over entire life times. Notice the word, grow. Protestants do not know how to tend their fields
{I have yet to find a Protestant who can tell me what faith is & means}
There are many who say they believe & that may be true but to varying degrees, or with varying perspectives of God's existence
What God is looking for is a faith equivalent to the way in which one believes in the existence of his own right hand. Many say "I believe in my right hand". Then when something is tossed to them, they fail to even try to catch it... asking "with what could I have caught it"? How real is your hand?
{relationships are not built in a day; they grow over entire life times}
Nowhere even close to an entire day, much less an entire lifetime, do Catholics use to baptize a child. Yet, even though the child is not even aware of the word "sin", much less that it's innate to his character, he nevertheless, is purged of his "sinner" status
Strange how Catholics can understand the civil law determination of the legal age of accountability. But not when it's regarding sin. A 5 yr. old would seemingly be held accountable for his actions, within a Catholic court of law.... unless he was baptized of course!
{Protestants do not know how to tend their fields}
The plains states of America have fed the world.
Unlike occultic Haiti, the ground of the plains states did not become completely barren...but have remained productive
cont... because Protestants do not struggle in the acquisition of the Holy Spirit; through prayer, fasting and vigil. Protestants have forsaken the tradition of the Church, replaced it with the idolatry of the Bible and the notion that you mentally / intellectually think you love Jesus and then you immediately receive the Holy Spirit.
Is this how your marriage works? Or any relationship with your friends or family?
{Protestants do not struggle in the acquisition of the Holy Spirit}
Nor did Jesus say it would be a struggle. He said "believe in me". Then he said, "after I have gone, I will send the Comforter"
Have you not noticed that the majority of the world struggles greatly with coming to the belief in God. That's where the struggle is at. Afterward, one struggles with the innate, human, sinful nature & with an unbelieving world
With merely a wet forehead & without faith, it would be a struggle
{Protestants have forsaken tradition of the Church}
Jesus did not forsake tradition...only cuz he never adopted it to begin with. He was indeed referred to as "Rabi", having taught the others even from age 12. Yet, he & the other Rabi ended up not being in accordance with each other. He was obviously a major non traditionalist
He had plenty to say about tradition...none of it favorable to traditionalists
Still, tradition itself is morally neutral. Wrong is if right is forsaken for tradition
Actually Jesus does speak favorably of tradition. The Greek clearly shows this. It is the protestant version, when trying to push their agenda of tradition being bad, that the NIV (along with others) mistranslates the Greek to teach when it is good, but to tradition when it is bad.
Sorry but you're reading the adulterated Word of God.
You're defending the Catholic/Orthodox position and speaking of idolatry??? ha ha ha ha ha
Sorry, but that one was impossible to not laugh at
Nobody does it better than Catholic/Orthodox. Even right down to a literal idolatry with statues. Nowhere within Protestantism do you find such superstitions... truly believing there's power within a scapular or a necklace medal with a saints image. A symbol of one's faith is one thing. But if you don't wear it...danger
Anyway I need to get back to morning prayer to my false idols, kissing my pagan icons, burning some satanic incense, and topping it all off with demonic meditation.
{Is this how your marriage works? Or any relationship with your friends or family?}
Like I said before, "Puppy Love" is full of feelings. After that, to love someone is a decision made to do whatever is in that person's best interest
{Why should it be different then with God?}
Exactly! But have you noticed that there are many who easily compromise truth, attributing little value to it. While others passionately pursue it, that it may be recognized
At first, it may be difficult, requiring a conscious adherence to it, although there may be a degree of reluctance to overcome. But eventually, a taste is developed for what used to be somewhat unpalatable... even becoming desirably delicious. Then it has become a decision made in the past that is presently executed as if by second nature
The issue is clear, and also the answer to why Jesus says He did not find so much faith in all of Israel. Faith is to love your neighbor as yourself, meaning to literally love humanity as God; to know that they, like yourself, was made in the Image of God.
There is no way to love God if you do not love humanity; and Jesus Christ gives us the tools to love humanity.
If you say you have faith, yet hate your neighbor, you deceive yourself. That is Orthodoxy.
Not surprising, considering what I've read of your comments up to this point, you have it backwards
"There is no way to love God if you do not love humanity"
It's the other way around... there's no way to love humanity, if you do not love God. Why do you think the 1st commandment is what it is? Think about it... that's where everything begins
You seem to think that you one comes before the other, loving God or loving humanity.
But truly I tell you, it is a circle. We can not love God unless we love humanity, and we can not love humanity unless we adhere to the teachings and traditions of Jesus Christ.
It is a deception for you to say you love God, yet turn to your neighbor and hate him, for you would be hating the Image of God, thus you hate God.
no what i said was you fill in the blank. it's not from MacArthur. it's from scripture but you sit lemming like eating up whatever he says and missing the obvious. well Jesus was right to Have Peter feed His Cheep. Without grace the brain shuts down and the pied piper of abuse takes over.
I can't imagine how they can equate the ark of the covenant to mary it contained 3 items: the tablets with the commandments( the law which Christ fulfilled) the jar of manna (the bread of life) and the rod of Aaron that budded (the resurrection) every thing points to Christ.
Christ himself said he was the 'Bread of Life' and Mary herself contained the 'Bread of Life' with Jesus in her womb. The Ark Contained the Revelation of the Law, and Mary carried the Fullness of the Law in Christ Jeus, Christ was the seed that budded the root of Aaron and Mary carried the 'seed' of Aaron in the Son of David, Jesus the Christ.
They're called metaphors. It's really not that difficult for the mind to understand but can be a challenge for the hardness of heart to overcome.
My heart is not hardened I just don't esteem Mary as one to pray to or holy and neither did Jesus: Mark 3:33 & Mt. 12:48. For there is One God & One Mediator between God & men the man Christ Jesus 1st Tim 2:5. The Ark Moses prepared & the items within are longer in use they were types & shadows of things to come fulfilled in Jesus. All generations are to consider her blessed & that's it.
Of course your heart is hardened, and as is mine. Are we not in our heavenly homeland?
The Ark and it's contents represent a covenental bond between God and His People. Convenants never end, as they are familial in nature. As a man and wife are never unmarried once convenantial married, and as a father is always parent to his children, so are you and I brother and sister in Christ.
Covenants never end; to do so would be to sunder what God has made one.
pat i used to believe fervently what u believe just as a zealous muslim believes Jesus is merely a prophet. But by His Spirit i am able to see the Truth in His word. No where in the NT after the gospels are people praying to mary etc Christ is the focus of all the new testament (and Old) not mary.
Sifted through chapter and verse with the intention of screen out unwelcome dogma only stymies Devine Revelation. the ancient Church called Mary "ark of the covenant" Why? Just before John sees the "Woman" of Genesis 3 the ark is described. In case no one notices there is a constant paralleling of references drawn between the New and Old Testament. Just as the Ark contained the written word so to Mary contained the Word made flesh. Just as the ark was taken up so to was Mary Assumed
Well, I used to be a Catholic as well. I went to Catholic School and I was even an Altar Boy for years. We in fact did pray to Mary herself and to various "Saints". Many, many Catholics I know do the same. Very unbiblical and anti biblical at that. I used to consider myself a true Catholic. It is a false faith. Why do people get offended by what John MacArthur is teaching based on scripture? Why? Cause the truth hurts. A true believer will go by scripture and not be bound by a false faith.
The Pope is exactly like the Apostles and the fact and truth that he stands in line with them is testimony to this:
All of the Apostles abandoned Christ at the Crucifixion, and all of the Apostles were thoroughly bad men before and remained corrupt after they encountered Christ.
Thanks Pastor John for tenaciously holding to the truth even in the face of strong opposition. Maybe some Catholics will be saved through these truths. That is my prayer.
Shut Up. you stupid protestants will try to do anything to bash Catholics. you need to face it in, Luke 1:28 " and the angel came unto her, and said HAIL. why would mary not be an very important figure in heaven. when God himself told the angel to come unto mary and address with " HAIL", if she wasn't a higher position then a angel why did the angel say HAIL, your only suppose to Hail God, but why did God hail mary through the messenger/ angel, explain that.....
Crazy out there

prairiemark 3 months ago
@prairiemark You're Crazy....BTY what was Mary's sermons like? How many disciples did she have? When did she die on the Cross for my sins? What miracles did she perform? Who did she Baptize? When did she "raise from the dead" (she hasn't yet - she will at the Rapture)? Mary found "favor" with the Father, just as Noah did. Genesis 6:8. You are Blaspheming the Holy Spirit, which leads people to Christ, NOT Mary. You've just committed the "unforgivable sin". Matthew 12:31
JesusHoldMyHand1 3 months ago
@JesusHoldMyHand1 You are not the one who determines whos sins can be forgiven or not forgiven. My sins are covered by the Blood of Christ...he is my savior and advocate before the Father.

Matt. 17:3; Mark 9:4; Luke 9:30 - Jesus converses with "deceased" Moses and Elijah. They are more alive than the saints on earth.
Matt. 22:32; Mark 12:27; Luke 20:38 - God is the God of the living not the dead. The living on earth and in heaven are one family.
StAugustine79 3 months ago
No saint ever heard a prayer from anybody? Rev. 5:8 - the prayers of the saints (on heaven and earth) are presented to God by the angels and saints in heaven. This shows that the saints intercede on our behalf before God, and it also demonstrates that our prayers on earth are united with their prayers in heaven. (The “24 elders” are said to refer to the people of God – perhaps the 12 tribes and 12 apostles - and the “four living creatures” are said to refer to the angels.)
StAugustine79 3 months ago
@StAugustine79 Rev. 5:8 is not talking about saints in heaven. There is no indication that prayers are "united". You are misinterpreting the Bible.

The pope does not mean that hell is your life now without God. He means that it exists, but can we speak of its location? What we can say is that it is a total loneliness and denial of Christs gift of salvation. And it is not, as the pope says, our duty to tell who is there. As Christians we may hope that nobody is.
maximjaruta 10 months ago
"Mary has nothing to do with the salvation of anybody"? Well, I belive that our Lord Jesus who is God and the saviour was born by her so eventually she must have something to do with his incarnation. He chosed to be dependent of her Yes. Mary cooperated with God because she gave birth to his son. Did he force her?
It is not true that you rarely see Christ in catholic churches. Search at "catholic chuch altar" google images and in every single picture Christ is at the center behind the altar.
maximjaruta 10 months ago
@maximjaruta Catholicism is not Christian, but a Satanic pretender wearing Christianity as a mask. Here on You Tube, you can see this explained in "Know Your Enemy: The Fuel Project," parts 26-28. (And by "enemy," they do not mean other people, but Satan. And it is Satan who is pulling the puppet strings of the Catholic church.
tamething1 8 months ago
@tamething1 It is of course absurd that satan would find his most urgent mission in proclaming the risen Christ as God and that we should turn away from evil. The Church have changed the ancient superstitious meaning of those symbols you are talking about. It is a way to transform the pagan landscape to now turn to the trinitarian God. That a symbol of the sun should be banned for the rest of human existanse just because people used it for wrong worship in the past is quite superstitious to
maximjaruta 8 months ago
@tamething1 If you believe that, then you will have to believe that the apostolic fathers who learned from the original apostles were not christians. Wherever the bishop shall appear, there let the multitude also be; by the bishop, or by one to whom he has entrusted it. Wherever the bishop shall appear, there let the multitude also be; even as, wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church." Ignatius of Antioch, Epistle to the Smyrneans, 8:2 (c. A.D. 110).

@pharmfarm59538 I suggest you do some research on the matter. I'm serious. I am not against you. I am, like Mr. MacArthur, warning you and anyone involved with the RCC or this 'new" Reformation of the Church. It is all apostacy! Be warned!
proverbs1824 1 year ago
@pharmfarm59538 John MacArthur, and not just him, but many are recognizing a new movement going on in the Church today....it is called the Ecunemical (Emergent Church) movement. It involves alot of protestant denominations that, like the Roman Church, are moving away from sound biblical doctrine and embracing worldly philosophies. Jesus warned us in the last days many would fall away from the faith. That there would be a great apostacy to take place. It is happening...and happening now!
proverbs1824 1 year ago
@pharmfarm59538 I was raised in the Roman Church, and I did my home work when I left. John MacArthur gives a very honest and truthful assessment of the Roman Church. He is on the money. Roman Catholicism is NOT the Christianity of our Lord and Saviour Christ Jesus. They have moved far away from the truth of scripture and have adopted the Pope's decisions on matters of truth and doctrine: the vain philosophies and doctrines of men!
proverbs1824 1 year ago
@pharmfarm59538 And what "balanced biew of Catholic teaching" are you talking about?? Everything John MacArthur is talking about is true. Catholics belong to a "cult" and are very proud of it. People who live in sin always have an explanation, excuses and add a lot of "but"s to their statements. Jesus Christ is GOD, NOT Mary. Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church, NOT Peter or the Pope. Jesus Christ forgives sin, NOT MARY, NOT A CATHOLIC priest or "father". Cult worship.

He knows RCC is the Holy Seat.
lightzZz10 1 year ago
@lightzZz10 What your preaching to me is Armstrongism. Reread your scripture. The Roman Church is a self governing state and it sits on seven hills. The scripture is referring to the Catholic church and those who embrace her (the harlots), such as those involved in the Ecunemical movement (Emerging Church) which is the undoing of the Reformation.

@proverbs1824 ...please explain to me what the "abomination of desolation" means to you folks at the Calvary Churches?...book of Daniel btw.
lightzZz10 1 year ago
@lightzZz10 So the fact that the RCC is blatantly run by satan means that it must be the "Holy Seat"? The Holy Seat is currently in the heavens you fool! P.S.- the mormon church (like papism) is a child of satan and most Baptist/Protestant churches are also swept with unbelief and heresy. Satan, through his servants, wishes to influence and degrade all of Christendom. How much easier it would be for him if all of Christendom was in the hands of one man (the Roman pope).

Revelation Ch.12
sonofmary1 1 year ago
@sonofmary1 Who is the remnant of Mary’s seed? If this is Mary tit says she will come to earth flee to the wilderness and be persecuted by satan. Mary she will receive two wings and fly into the wilderness to hide from satan for 3 years; satan is then to make war with Mary and cause her to be carried away; then the earth helps Mary, Is that what you believe?
What you are saying, if so, is that Mary will reappear in the end times and lead her child (or someone) through 3 years of trouble.
chords7 1 year ago
@sonofmary1 Women often represent religious systems in Rev. Jezebel and false teaching, Great harlot and false religions, the Bride with the Church. Israel is also represented as a woman in Isaiah 54, Jeremiah 3, Ezek 16 and Hosea 2.
Structurally, (Gen 37) the twelve stars are the sons of Israel, the 12 tribes of Israel. The woman is representative of Israel. This prophecy only makes sense if the woman is Israel and not Mary. Unless Mary is to physically return to earth and lead Israel.
chords7 1 year ago
@chords7
What we can say for sure is that the child that the woman gives birth to is Jesus. Why can't we see that the woman who gives birth to Jesus is Mary.This war between the serpent and the woman, depicted in rev, goes back to Gen 3,where God says to the serpent "I will put enmity between you and the woman,between her seed and your seed." Her seed is the Church, the New Israel.This was done at the cross,where Jesus says to the beloved disciple,"Behold, your mother."
sonofmary1 1 year ago
@sonofmary1 Because the woman flees to the wilderness to hide for 3 years. Is Mary here to flee? Is there any indication she will come back here or flee? Who, in scripture, flees into the wilderness? Who is supernaturally protected from the AC and Satan? The one who flees is Israel. Forcing Mary to be the woman in this case simply does not fit.

@chords7
Although I disagree, I respect your interpretation. I would ask that you respect the interpretation of the Catholic Church, something that John Mac seems unable to do. I used to be evangelical(I still am), but then I found the truth in the Catholic Church. But even as a protestant, who believed in Sola Fide, I still respected Catholicism, as the only place in the entire canon where the words faith and alone appear next to one another, the words Not By, come before.
sonofmary1 1 year ago
@sonofmary1 I can respect you as an individual and, since we are in America, I respect your right to believe anything you so deem worthy.
But unfortunately the teachings and doctrines of the Catholic church are not within the scope of the teachings of Christ or the apostles so the catholic church must fall into the grouping of Gal 1:6-8 and others and be avoided.
chords7 1 year ago
@chords7
The Bible was written over 1500 yrs, in 3 different languages, reflecting customs that in many ways are foreign to us.
sonofmary1 1 year ago

I saw deep humility and Charity in the Church.
sonofmary1 1 year ago
@sonofmary1 You can say by grace and grace alone but that is not the RCC teaching. That is not the teaching of the system you are in. The RCC teaching is grace + works. Your statement has you condemned by the Pope. Christ is the foundation not the Church.

You may not know this but the RCCs foundation is really on forged documents.

Just as Jesus commanded them to do.
sonofmary1 1 year ago

The pope is not the Holy Father, that is God.

You don't know what I'm talking about, do you? What I'm saying is that the so-called "reformers" CHANGED doctrine. Johnny Mac is simply wrong - I'm convinced knowingly so.
There's a lot you don't know about Christianity.

@Dystopiologist You presume I'm Protestant/SDA.
The RCC omits this one.
makahru 1 year ago
@makahru
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist Dead 'saints' are idols, the Ark of the Covenant is clearly no such thing, it's furniture. Clearly, no one is instructed to idolize it.
The serpent was an evil symbol and has an untrustworthy reputation in the flesh. This was a symbol for the people of the death of sin.
All symbols/instruments of salvation in the Torah were bronze or bronze covered.
See, Yeshua was made in a likeness of sin, but this was only a likeness of evil. Not an idol.

Since MacArthur knows that Mary nor any other Saint heard intercessory prayers.. I invite him, and all protestants who believe like him, to read Lk 7:1-10 and witness the power of intercessory prayer; how it is biblical, how it is canonical, and how it is truth.
DopoNotte 2 years ago
Needless to mention that we are even called to pray on behalf of others and that the Bible teaches that the more pray, the better.
Intercession ftw.
BlackCappa 2 years ago
I am astounded to think that MacArthur doesn't believe in intercessory prayer when millions of Catholics upon millions more Orthodox have prayed for him, pray for him now, and will continue to pray for him long after he's gone.
Jesus says to pray for our enemies. I honestly question if MacArthur has ever done that.

BlackCappa 2 years ago
We have all read it.....& understood it correctly.
It is you who should read it again. Pay particular attention to the words of Jesus - "I have not found so great "FAITH".
It's a mystery why you have interpreted the account to have anything to do with "intercession" when it's clearly an account that demonstrates great "faith" in Jesus
The Centurion's mention of commanding his subordinates was in recognition of Jesus' great authority
His use of a messenger was a demonstration of his humility
Chuichupachichi 2 years ago

DopoNotte 2 years ago
{I have yet to find a Protestant who can tell me what faith is & means}
Chuichupachichi 2 years ago
{relationships are not built in a day; they grow over entire life times}
Nowhere even close to an entire day, much less an entire lifetime, do Catholics use to baptize a child. Yet, even though the child is not even aware of the word "sin", much less that it's innate to his character, he nevertheless, is purged of his "sinner" status
Chuichupachichi 2 years ago
Strange how Catholics can understand the civil law determination of the legal age of accountability. But not when it's regarding sin. A 5 yr. old would seemingly be held accountable for his actions, within a Catholic court of law.... unless he was baptized of course!

cont... because Protestants do not struggle in the acquisition of the Holy Spirit; through prayer, fasting and vigil. Protestants have forsaken the tradition of the Church, replaced it with the idolatry of the Bible and the notion that you mentally / intellectually think you love Jesus and then you immediately receive the Holy Spirit.
Is this how your marriage works? Or any relationship with your friends or family?
No. Why should it be different then with God?
DopoNotte 2 years ago
{Protestants do not struggle in the acquisition of the Holy Spirit}
Chuichupachichi 2 years ago
@Chuichupachichi
Nor did Jesus say it would be a struggle.
He who perseveres until the end will be saved. He who has not left father or mother, or sister or brother, is not worthy of me.
Come out from your native land, and from your family, and from the house of your father.
And many of His disciples left Him because they were disturbed with this saying.
These are all individual quotes showing the struggle.
DopoNotte 2 years ago
{Protestants have forsaken tradition of the Church}
Chuichupachichi 2 years ago
@Chuichupachichi

Like I said before, "Puppy Love" is full of feelings. After that, to love someone is a decision made to do whatever is in that person's best interest
{Why should it be different then with God?}
Exactly! But have you noticed that there are many who easily compromise truth, attributing little value to it. While others passionately pursue it, that it may be recognized
Chuichupachichi 2 years ago
At first, it may be difficult, requiring a conscious adherence to it, although there may be a degree of reluctance to overcome. But eventually, a taste is developed for what used to be somewhat unpalatable... even becoming desirably delicious. Then it has become a decision made in the past that is presently executed as if by second nature
Chuichupachichi 2 years ago
@Chuichupachichi
DopoNotte 2 years ago
@DopoNotte,
Not surprising, considering what I've read of your comments up to this point, you have it backwards
"There is no way to love God if you do not love humanity"
It's the other way around... there's no way to love humanity, if you do not love God. Why do you think the 1st commandment is what it is? Think about it... that's where everything begins
Chuichupachichi 2 years ago
@Chuichupachichi

I can't imagine how they can equate the ark of the covenant to mary it contained 3 items: the tablets with the commandments( the law which Christ fulfilled) the jar of manna (the bread of life) and the rod of Aaron that budded (the resurrection) every thing points to Christ.
lisagabel 2 years ago
