Is there a reason why European trucks are all cab over rather than conventional ( engine in front ) ? Cab over trucks are less aerodynamic. Thanks for any replys

@tractorfixr Yeah, there's a reason. We have rules that tell us that the lenght is calculated from the front of the truck to the back of the trailer. To get the most cargo space, we have cab over trucks. Sorry about my english, I'm Swedish.

its the v8. the damn v8 balanced helps every straining part all around it. Add a classic long nose pete cab riding low and wow. I would call that the best. I did spot an old mack superliner rumored to have rare v8 recently..and I would even call that better than a scania. Long wheel base large bunk and riding low.that truck is a silent legend where i live, not many even realize it. I love the scania vids, keep em coming.

Perhaps its the Air Dryers that leak preventing the air system to build up, or is it the diff gaskets that constantly leak? What about the compressors falling off and siezing the engine? or maybe the cab mountings that constantly wear? Then theres the cheap plastic window runners that break causing the glass to fall inside the door! And as far as Opti-cruise goes it must be the worst SAMT out there!

Put a Scania badge on any shit and people like you will love it! Simpletons!

It is not an R580, it's an old model lads.the tacho is key-locked, and it lacks a wide angle mirror on the driver's hand side. Preety fine truck though.I drive one myself.

With 580bhp at hand...manual trans is more feasible as an option..unless you fit it with Allison heavy duty auto trans which can cost you a bomb..Manual is better...But maybe you are talking about semi-auto trans?

Most european truck makers now offer an automatic option,usually a 12 speed. NOT allison as these tend to only be 6 speed, not enough for a heavy highway truck. nothing wrong with them- MAN's TGA and the Iveco stralis are both pleasant trucks to drive. who the hell wants to fight with a crash box in this day and age?
