The reason the barrel appears to be bent is because the mechanism and barrel itself is pointed downward, so when you shoulder the sub machine gun, the recoil is forced down towards you firing grip, to better keep control of muzzle climb and horizontal force. The same concept was applied to the MAS38 sub machine gun... Look it up.

@Ozone995 Yep, you're right. Too bad the mechanism doesn't actually reduce the felt recoil that much. According to a Finnish gun-magazine Rekyyli it's pretty much like firing any other small SMG and therefore difficult to control on full-auto. The performance offered by this gun really doesn't justify the complicated mechanism. That fact added to the poor marketing and financing issues explains why it wasn't accepted to service even in Finland.

@armymanjames1 I've used it too. The way barrel is aligned (7 degree angle), effectively reduces recoil. It's very good designwise, reliability is a bit bummer.
