I once read a book that discussed the horrible television value of BET, they suggested that the network just change its slogan to:

I know BET could've done better, but was not the small tributes from Keri Hilson, Jamie Foxx, Ne-Yo, and Beyonce at least decent taking in to account that the awardss had to cut most of it's original content to pay homage to the King. I think you shouldn't be so bad on BET, we know they lack on some things that could really make it a blessing but we gotta do better in letting them know what we want to watch and see instead of putting our foot down their throats.

I think the badness of Bad Entertainment TV has more to do with the state of entertainment:

(more pimps and gangstas in hip hop, reality TV) than who owns the station. You add cheapness and what the ghetto segment of AAs wanna see and you get the current state of BET.

The problem is I truly think they don't care. My teenage sister and her friends don't even watch BET anymore. So if the fact that viewership has gone down doesn't say something to them, I am not sure what will. Even some people like DL Hughley who has hosted the BET Awards has come out and said that they don't like what BET has done over the years.......People are telling them, the question is are they listening?
