  • Good tip. I call them "blockers" but either way its the same deal.

  • I have been doing this shield thing for years, & also when I'am in my car - but thanks for the tip for others!

  • OMFG i jus heard the part of using a car as a "shield" smooth so when HE gets sideswiped next to you he can stay on top of you and your bike!

  • @Bkrayzaythetrollolol You shouldn't listen to me. Who's forcing you? Why are you so upset?

  • @halfthrottle honestly just trying to point out a bad tip i may have been a bit harsh but i HAD a buddy who figured he should shield himself with a vehicle untill his head popped like a balloon when it was wedged between his bike and the oil pan of the car he was using as a shield just an all around bad tip. I don't want any riders to suffer the same fate.

  • @Bkrayzaythetrollolol The car I was using as a shield in this video was a safe distance in front of me. Sorry to hear about your friend, riding anywhere that puts you in danger of being smashed between 2 cars is a bad idea. Use the cars as shields, but keep a safe distance.

  • @halfthrottle ty for the correction on that i just saw issues with ppl taking it wrong and putting cars on their left in intersections or on right (how my buddy died). Keep posting good vids and i'll keep commenting XD here you have redeemed yourself in my eyes i'm removing the original post because of my new-found respect for you . education is key and where someone gives bad or in this case a tip that needs more details it's us riders who have to help correct this! Thnx for being patient!

  • @Bkrayzaythetrollolol Well I also like to use cars when going through intersections here. Or turning left off a main road in town. People just need to always be aware of potential threats around them, and always be thinking of way to avoid them.

    Thanks for chilling out. :)

  • @halfthrottle nps it was u being patient tht changed my attitude ! ride safe so we can get more great vids and so i can troll (a bit nicer and only when it's called for)

  • @halfthrottle Now thats a great tip. ill be writing that one in my mental bank fo sho

    Thanks!

  • WHO THE F IS BEHIND THIS LECTURING OF THE GENERAL POPULACE?!

  • @paullubliner idk but he's probably a real bastard.

  • Love your vids dude...big shout out from Ireland. I cam myself only starting to Vlog now. Stay safe man.

  • @wondaboy12345 I would love to ride Ireland someday. I had a layover in an airport there once really wish I could have stayed a while.

  • Awesome tip for defensive driving/riding...

  • i do this for roundabouts

  • I like halfthrottle pro tips.

  • car shielding system lgreat vid

  • stupid ass video

  • Fantastic... one of the best motorcycle tips I've ever seen and you explain it so well. This tip can be applied in any country. "USING CARS AS SHIELDS" love it!! Well done Ryan.

  • Good tip! Never would have thought of it. Well done.

  • Great tip. and not just for bikers, same tip works if you are driving on a car with low visibility.

  • Cagers are good for something after all LOL!

  • These are the voyages of the motovlogger Halfthrottle......

    Vulcan isit?

  • @svengalie Volcán, but people still live long and prosper there.

  • Never thought of this one :-)

  • When riding a motorcycle the most important thing you have to protect you is your brain. However, it doesn't work very well as a crumple zone. It's much better to use it to come up with techniques like the one in this video.

    As a general algorithm:

    - constantly evaluate the (traffic) situation

    - try to foresee what might go wrong

    - find a way to limit your exposure if the worst should happen

    Stay alive!! :)

  • Yep, good tip. Does not apply just to Panama certainly. I live in the Desert Southwest USA and follow the same guidance. Besides, even if they pass, they will stack up behind another and another slow moving vehicle anyway. So enjoy the ride and as commercial as it sounds "Drive defensively"

  • Great & important subject!

  • Very good advice.

  • Great advice once again! I do alot of that type of riding myself. Gotta stay defensive!

  • Another thing everyone should know,Is its not normal driving in this country,Its more like "Traffic Circus"here,Ive seen more wrecks, and more wrecked vehicles driving down the road in this country, than anywhere else. Its not anything new, seeing new wrecked cars with clear plastic taped down the side,so rain cant come in thru the torn off door of a crashed up car,Im NOT kidding, just ask HalfThrottle If you dont believe me. PEACE "SkeeFoo"

  • @skeefoopanama This is the absolute truth. Although the general quality of vehicle has improved over the years, there are still lots of cars/trucks around that should be in the scrapyard. Add in the fact that lots of car maintenance is done with whatever parts are available and it gets scary quickly. Stay safe.

  • slow and steady...lots of room is my philosophy

  • nice ;)
