  • The Violinaires have always been top on my list...I still have this vinyl album and always listen to this song...thanks for posting!!

  • I grew up on this song. I always love this group.

  • I wish bobby jones would feature a show just the great quartet singers

  • classic where have all the good black male singers gone ?oh how i wish they would come back again.. ....

  • classic where have all the good black male siners gone? oh I wish they would come back ....

  • @1goldbaby

    Yep!

  • @1goldbaby i would love to get a group together but can't get anyone to be dedicated enough to stay together.

  • @Deaylo

I understand your pain. I've experienced that. Even pro groups have a difficult time staying together. God bless your efforts though.

  • SANG GUYS!!!!!

  • @westendliommmmmmns

    Gotta do it!

  • On one visit to Louisville there was a gospel program where Jimmy Ellis (the boxer) and his gospel group, the Riverviews, had a battle for the cup against the Religious Five. The Five got the cup, but The Riverviews really were the best!! The Five were also very good, but not better than the Riverviews. I've not heard one female artist, whether she be Shirley Caeser, Yolanda Addams, or Kim Burrell, out sing Jimmy Ellis' wife. That woman was awesome!! I have fond memories of gospel in Louisville

  • My father had this exact album when I was a little girl. I loved the beats in the music. It's amazing how all the words of the songs make sense now that my understanding has matured. Praise God, I can not wait until He comes back some day. Truly, my heart is crying in anticipation of that great day! May the love of the Lord permeate throughout the world!

  • I grieved when certain groups broke up or a member left. My number two grief was when Paul left the Gospel Keynotes. The group lost it's harmony and Willie went berserk (rest his soul). Charles leaving the Gospelaires (another disappointment) to join the Keynotes. My number one setback was when the Junior Dynamics of Louisville Ky disbanded. This was the best group that I have ever witnessed to date - young men at the time and so talented; a great loss to Gospel Quartet singing.

  • @Sensiblehuman

When 50% of people in America can't maintain a life-long parnership, it may be a stretch to thing that human beings will never part ways to do other things. It is difficult for those fans who come to consider them an institution in a way, but it's life. I understand how you feel.

  • @Sensiblehuman sound like you are from louisville, ky. i remember the junior dynamics when i was a teen from my church. then there was the solomon airs. do you have any gospel for either groups?

  • @jessejazzyj My family made many trips to Louisville, KY to hear various gospel quartet groups when I was quite young. I was overwhelmed by the talent that was concentrated in this small city. I remember a program that was downtown Louisville and the Pilgrim Jubilee, Blind Boys, maybe Swan Silvertones, and the Junior Dynamics all were on the program. The Dynamics took the show!! I was amazed at the talent of these youths. We came back to follow the Dynamics but found out that they had broke up.

  • Here are a few more great Gospel quartets that get no play but were better than most all named: Bright Stars of Flint, MI; Kingdom Bound; Southern Faith; Junior Dynamics of Lou, Ky; Jimmy Ellis and Riverviews; Salem Travelers; Mildred Clark and KC Melodyaires; early Pilgrim Jubilee (We're the People LP), Highway QCs ( He is my Friend).

  • Love It!

  • yeap I know the violinaires and the keynotes have to be the two greatest gospel groups of all time, but you also have some other great ones such as the singing stars, slim and the supreme angels, the jackson southernaires, and the evereadys...

  • I can not get enough of this song. A Classic!

  • V1, thanks for this classic selection. Who are the guys on the front cover? Lil Shot, Blaire, and who else?

  • unbelievable sound!!! i am in love with this record.

  • @lawyounger

    AWESOME! JUST AWESOME!
