That's because when Dave was remastering the albums, some tracks, for unexplained reasons. The original vocals tracks are missing. So Dave had to re-sing some tracks. That's why there's a difference. I was lucky enough to buy the (original) 1990 CD version of this album. Good old Ebay. Fuck the remasters! haha

This is way raw. Why did they feel the need to remaster it? Was Dave trying to bring it to the modern metal production trend? UA and Endgame have excellent production, you've kept with the times Dave. We get it. I wish I could say the same for Death Magnetic, that would have benefit from Endgame production. I think I speak for many people when I say we prefer the original Rust.

Poland/Samuelson > Friedman/Menza imo,

peace sells is flawless and so is Rust in peace, its a close fight but Megadeth just wouldn't have it's name without Peace Sells.

Besides Poland and Samuelson had a great chemestry together, even if most of that chemistry were used to hock guitars to get dope and shit :S. they were still a duo that we're untouchable.

I think he sounds good in the new one, it's seems easier for him to sing. But the crowd (I guess that it's Menza, Friedman and Ellefson) is more present in this version. The remastered version is only Mustaine, and he's not that good at shouting out loud.
