my dad has made this same promise to my sisters and I on our 13th birthdays: he gives us a heart shaped ruby surrounded by diamonds saying "the diamonds represent how precious you are to me and heart means that no matter what you do, I will always love you". we receive another ring on our 16th birthdays but this is a small band with the phrase "true love waits" engraved inside with our birthdays. I'm twenty and I still remember those words and have never forgotten both Gods' and my daddy love!

I LOVE this part...I got my "purity" ring when I was 15 and never lost it or never took it off! I love my dad and mom! They have put so much time and money into me and all I wanna do is please them with my life. We need more movies think these. We need more Christians like the Kendrick Brothers making movies that are clean and pure. Things that have meaning. Instead of sex pornography and all these other nasty things we see in movies these days. Thank you for posting this. Its My favorite part!

Letting go of your own daughter or sister .. it is so painful .. you wake up & her bedroom is quiet .. so quiet that it breaks your heart... I remember when my best sister got married .. I missed her .. thank you God for helping me through all of this .. I finally knew it was love ..

My daddy did the same thing for me after we saw this movie. I wear My ring everyday I even sleep with it on. It means so much to me I love My daddy with all My heart:) this is My favorite scene

very touching :) i don't know my father, but my grandfather fills that void for me, after we saw this movie, he took me out and did the same thing.... and i started bawling :'))

I lost my dad 3 months ago in Afghanistan, and when I saw this movie I cried. Then this scene came up and I lost it. I had this same conversation with my dad a few years ago.
