  • Looks like a Conquest to me...

  • @JaymezSPCM conquest is rear wheel drive the daytona is front wheel drive. They do look similar tho.

  • @Skater3z3b Yeah, I did some research after I commented on this. They look real similar. But I like the Starquest a lot better. :D

  • @Skater3z3b Mopar "used" to have a rear wheel conversion kit that allowed you to swap in a 318 or similar. I had a Chysler Laser Turbo which was the same as the Daytona. 0-60 was around 6.4 sec. They were fun cars but prone to many bugs. It would break down every other couple weeks. Dodge also made the Turbo Omni GLH and a Shelby variant. They're pretty hard to find though.

  • @angelnicolel1000 So 400+ hp from an 8 valve with a stock bottom end is embarrassing, eh? Riiight.

  • @angelnicolel1000 fuckin troll

  • @angelnicolel1000 the daytona was prolly embarrassed to be seen with you aswell...

  • @angelnicolel1000

Jezz. You could you some anger management. No one asked you to buy one of these cars. I would hate to see you work through a real problem.

  • I have a 90 Acclaim Turbo that runs 12.90 on pump gas with a tire spinning 2.2 60 foot time. It is a 4 banger with 20 plus pounds of boost. Stock parts new head gasket. Modded waste gate controller and a plumbed in intercooler.

  • Daytona's can be modified for rear wheel drive. But why bother doing that or doing a v-8 swap? They can already outrun most v-8 cars.

  • @quacksacker V8's usually last a little longer with abuse. and I think these cars should have been made with RWD in the first place. I'm going to do a V8 RWD swap soon to mine.

  • That's not a Turbo Z it's a Shelby Z. Turbo Z's are ONLY FIRST GEN.

And yes, you CAN fit a V8 in there, it's been done MANY times.

  • Hell I just found a video that shows a rear wheel drive V8 Daytona burnin' the tires, just type in V8 Daytona

  • Sometimes I wish thay didn't allow any fucking comments on these videos. And they do make a kit to install a V8,I seen it in like a 92' Mopar action.

  • Sorry kids, the car has a Turbo 4 cylinder in it. Trust me on this.

  • Cool

  • yeah a V8 will fit, I shoulda said that before. hell a 500 cube caddy motor can fit a chevette......

  • at first it looked like drag slicks on the rear.retard huh? why insult a guy for making a mistake? everybody's so brave and tough on the internet, lmao

  • FWD

  • Watch it again. The front tires are the ones smoking.

  • why is this titled dodge daytona turbo Z burnout when is is clearly a v8 rwd conversion?????

  • are you a retard, the front wheels are spinning, and besides a v8 could not fit in it

  • Yes it can. =)

  • Comment removed

  • Yes it can. Been there done that and it's fast with a v8. Otherwise the car is $#!+.

  • While you are right about the V8 being able to fit in a Daytona, your very wrong about the 4 cylinders. The turbo models were unmatched. A light Charger/omni with a stock 146hp turbo 1 could beat pretty much anything in that class right up to today. If you were lucky enough to get the T2, T3 or T4 packages they would easily keep up with V8's...albeit with a fair amount LESS hp/torque. The 224hp T3 can blow the doors off a 225hp 5.0 Mustang.

  • Yes V8 will fit in it. This car is FWD. It's got drag skinnies on the back and either street tires or drag tires on the front. I can't tell which.

  • ya itll fit if its a hella small v8 or you cut out the towers and install independant front suspention!, but why would you, its a waste of time! then you gotta cut through the firewall and floorboard just so you can fit a driveshaft and a rear end everything underneith would be changed!

  • you ignorant prick.. Shut up when you think you know something you've never delt with before... First off CRYSLER makes an adapter kit to fit a 'hella' BIG V8 in it.. and they MADE the car. Second the V8 sits side to side in the car with less room than the 4cyl (but longer front to back by just a bit). Third it's already got Independant front suspention why would you need to install it agin? As far as cutting stuff out.. The people that made the car made it so a V8 could fit. Cut your tounge out

  • Why would you want to put a V8 in it when the modded (not a lot) four banger can run 12s 1/4 mile?

These are FWD, made to always stay FWDs. And FWDs own anyway.

  • Show me where "CRYSLER" makes a kit to put a "side to side" transverse V8 in the engine bay. Are you suggesting they make an adapter for a FWD V8 setup? You're retarded. Even if you mean RWD, it's still not available in kit form, it still requires a total renovation of the chassis, it's not provided by Chrysler, and you're still retarded. So either way, you're retarded. Before you flame back, show me the kit..

  • MOPAR Part #P4529533

  • They used to, not anymore though. They are out there though.

  • you can buy kits for RWD conversion, and use the rear end out of a new yorker. i wana get it on my daytona.
