The issue isn't praying in school. People can pray in school if they want and no one bothers them. They just can't shut the school down to do it and that's what the Christians really want. Not the freedom to pray in school but the authority to force the student body into mandatory prayer assembly.

I went to a Christian school my whole life and we were forced to pray whether we liked it or not. you wanna talk about no freedom for kids? go check out a fucking Christian school.

mother theresa was obsessed with suffering. she set up hospice's where the poor and dying were dragged in and the nuns were forbidden to care for them beyond making sure they did not leave their beds. They were given dirty needles and the cheapest(weakest) of pain killers while dying and most got nothing. She wanted her "patients" to suffer, because she believed suffering brought the people closer to GOD, which is sick. She traded the Christian symbol and good, deluded, reputation for money.

calpurnpiso, I agree with you. Religious belief is in fact a mental illness. The problem we face though is that the majority of people in the world have the disease. That makes it almost impossible to make any real progress towards a cure. Those who are ill do not even realize they are ill.

Reason and logic would not have had the limited success it has achieved if it were not for the fact that most cases are relatively benign. Only in a smaller percentage is it truly malignant.

people have this irrational belief that there is a everlasting spiritual entity that holds a sense of who we are and indivdual personality. however things such as Drugs & alcohol, a blow to the head will all effect this sense of who we are and change the personality, WHY? because these thing effect the brain, so logic says this sense of who are is 100% determined by a fully functional brain, there is nothing that suggests otherwise.
