  • Mumford and Sons uhhhh how to describe them in one word would be impossible to do because they are just to great!

  • Thumbs up if Mumford and Sons came to you, and no1 else <3

  • I must bear no more Thistles and Weeds for I have single handedly fucked up my entire world... parents, siblings, friends, relatives, gone..

  • To those 38 dislikes, FUCK YOU

  • Damn that Mab is a scary looking guy at the end.

  • that 2nd comment needs to change, c'mon this is mumford and sons, not a justin beiber video -__-

  • Combined this with rainymood. Fits like a glove. :)

  • This is the only folk band I can get into.

If anyone knows any others very similar to Mumford and Sons, please let me know.

  • @AdolescentMartyrs you might like the Avett Brothers.... I really enjoy their song: Head full of doubt road full of promise... haha that's really the only song i ever listen to that's by them. Hope you like 'em! :)

  • @AdolescentMartyrs My guess is your not a fan of traditional folk, if your looking for contemporary folk checkout Frank Turner he's a God of modern folk. The songs "If Ever I Stray" is one of the best songs i've ever heard

  • @chisox100 I do like that song you suggested, but that's about it. I guess Mumford and Sons just have a unique sound to them that I like.

    Thanks for the help though.

  • @AdolescentMartyrs check out Of Monsters and Men. "Little Talks" is a really great song by them.

  • Mumford and Sons are one of the best alternative bands I have ever heard please like if you agree!

  • @pezza418 If they were alternative, I'd agree. However, they are considered folk, thus I can't agree with you.

  • @BikerJiT Fair enough, Mumford and Sons are the best folk band I have ever heard, please like if you agree!

  • @BikerJiT They aren't folk, search an artist such as Gordon Lightfoot or Stan Rogers that's considered folk...Mumford & Sons is more of pop-folk. They're still an amazing band though

  • this song is on my favs for a reason :) x

  • I'd be a little gay for mumford and sons.. if they asked

  • *dislike

  • Can we please get some top comments about the song, not your sexuality. This is an awesome song and band!

  • I will hold on hope! (N) <3

  • 0:00

  • best song on the album

  • One of the best dramatic build-ups in music. Seriously, I get goosebumps from 2:16-4:05

  • TOO PERFECT FOR WORDS. I CRY.

  • Hauntingly beautiful

  • scares the shit outta me

  • Hmm. Reminds me of Halo :s

  • VOTE RON PAUL

  • "the dead bury their dead, they will come out in droves"

    ...zombie apocalypse?

  • the most intense song I've heard from them yet.

  • I do not have ever a song belong in such a way affected like that!

  • "I begged you to hear me there's more than flesh and bones, but the dead bury their dead they will come out in droves, take the spade from my hands and fill in the holes you've made."

Each and every time I hear this part, I keep thinking of the holes made in life, the holes of loved ones lost, regrets and missed opportunities to love and be loved.

  • one of my favourite arrangements for a song

  • JOJO ;)

  • @Usterpower1 haha soo kuul :P NICI ;)

  • @Usterpower1 tschuuldigung

  • how does clarity cloud your mind? What the fuck?!

  • @JerryTheSpartan I think its meant to be like, seeing an unfortunate truth that you have trouble coping with

  • If you liked this song, you might check out my friend's one-man-band! THE OCTOBER AFFAIR. Youtube won't let me post the link but you can find him on Youtube or Sound Cloud!

    Please have a listen! :)

  • "I know you've felt much more love than you've shown"

  • This song gives me tingles ....

  • I love this song, towards the end when he starts in on the " I will hold on!" I like to throw my fist in the air and sing this aloud with him! Love that part!

  • I will hold on....still holding!

  • I'm a kid. I don't listen to lady gaga, justin bieber, or any chart crap. I listen to this. Brings tears to my eyes every single time without fail :'(

  • @TeamQuabs thats why you cant see the dislike bar...

  • This song is just terrible! Where were the overly auto-tuned and mastered vocals? Did not hear even ONE rave whistle not to mention the lack of Justin Beiber and... Yeah no I cannot continue this farce. Most things passing as music these days suck dick, let us all thank Mumford and Sons for making true music for people with brains. *hops on his mule and gallops off to Rand McNally*

  • @giantred amen

  • @giantred I wish I had a mule :/

  • I was only going to put 4 Mumford & Sons songs on my iTunes, but because every single one of their songs is tremendously epic, I ended up getting like 20!

  • Comment removed

  • Rufus Wainwright singing about ,, secret chord " .... actually hear it :)

  • I accidentally made my track have a similar tune as this song! haha Tell me if it's the same. it's "Night Lights" by Caro Music

  • these guys are amazing. compared to a lot of music these days, this is utter heaven. lady gaga? party rock anthem? nah, ill pass on those ones

  • i just raped the replay button in both ears

  • why is the text in fresh prince of bel-air font?

  • @TheChexer1231 because fresh prince was the best sit-com of the 90s... thats why.

  • You guys, type in Mumford and sons Japan, and click on my music video for thistles and weeds. It's a video i did earlier this year for the tsunami in Japan. Hope you enjoy!

  • This song gives me shivers. It also describes how im feeling at the moment. My cat is being put down tomorrow and my GF just broke up with me. I just broke 100 bucks on a depressing trenchcoat.

  • Stopp wining about how many views other songs have, if everyone would listen to this song i think it would slowly nerv me. i prefer to have these kind of insider tipss so just people listen to this who really like it. not because of the hit list or whatever. enjoy your day ;)

  • People have different tastes, and opinions. Doesn't make them ignorant, and Mumford and Sons are extremely popular, you'd be hard pushed to find a teenager who hadn't heard there album.

  • @thesunshinebus im a teenager who hasnt heard their album. i only just heard of them recently because of my friend. i know heaps of people and only one of them know who mumford and sons are and i only found out about them because of him. so i dont think they are 'extremely popular'...

  • @Munchy468 Well your missing out...

  • Beautiful song. It's almost haunting. My absolute favorite out of their entire album.

  • I don't know what you people are talking about....I'm all about the sex, drugs, and Mumford and Sons. Hehe, you can tell that that isn't true because I use proper grammar! Stupid kids with their drugs and poor grammar.....

  • @jmhanson02 You used 5 dots at the end of you sentience, rather then 3.

    Your doing drugs!

  • I'm only 14 and I am so happy to find such awsome music that doesn't revolve around sex and partying...That's not what life is about.

  • This song makes me incredibly sad and happy at the same time.

  • this is the most epic song i've ever heard,

  • i hope the mumford and sons never go big because in a selfish way i love them like this and people who dont appreciate this amazing music can lick my nuts

  • @snwangl SO what, STFU you hateful fucking Bible bitch!!!

  • The falling leaves rejected by once loving trees,

Pressuring the argument until it finally agrees,

Gathering the harvest from from earlier deeds,

That struggled to prosper against thistles and weeds.

  • @TheFryersmuck props :)

  • Just love them and all their songs!!!

  • i mean that in a positive note of course so deep that it makes one think, we got no power?break out the guitar, i think i need to hear thistles & weeds

  • mumford & sons will get theres, shit will go wrong and people will sing there songs around the fire

  • The first time I heard this song I was driving home from work at night and the first thing that came to mind was a family member that took their own life and the tears just started to fall. They may not have been able to hold on but I will in memory of them.

  • Not so sure that comparing the number of views on YouTube for Mumford and Sons to general pop music today is a fair comparison, Rather than speak to the state of ignorance in society today, I think it speaks to the demographics of people who are constantly on YouTube watching and re-watching videos. Every generation has it's own argument as to why society is going to hell in a hand-basket. The world changes, change with it or be a curmudgeon, your call.

  • 30 are just plain dead on the inside

  • <3 so much love. There's nothing about this band I don't like.

  • the best song on the album. I absolutely love it !

  • The Hell is going on here?

    V V V V V V V V V V V V V V

  • @people disagreeing with ny18888

have any of you SEEN the lyrics of some of the bands around today?

I'd be banished rather than go along with what society dictates as "good music". I listen to Mumford and Sons not cause some guy on the radio or TV show said to,but cause i heard one of their songs myself and loved it.

Ignorance of society is the ignorance to recognize what you like and not what society is listening to nowadays. I hate having to use the concept conformity, but that's what it is...

  • The best song on the album in my humble opinion.

  • This song sparked a short film idea! Ive had writers block for months and then i listened to this:)

  • its a damn good song keep it up guys

  • HANG ON MARCUS IM COMMING!!! :)

  • this is now my favorite song to sing along to. it's also quite fun to dance around while playing this.

  • wow the begining reminded me an awful lot like the diablo 2 soundtrack!

  • Its just too bad that songs by Miley Cryrus and that slore Niki Minaj get hundreds of millions of views and this gets nothing compared to that... just tells you how ignorant our society is these days... its unfortunate

  • @ny18888 people have different tastes in music, your the ignorant one.

  • @pjdlol yeah and the majority of peoples taste is listening to dirty whores sing about fucking guys you ignorant idiot

  • @ny18888 obviously your the only one who thinks that so im guessing you either are one of these sluts or your girlfriend is lmao

  • @ny18888 no i agree that its terrible, but your the one being ignorant

  • @pjdlol lmao... you agree... but im being ignorant.. hahaha... the new saying should be, "think before you type"

  • @ny18888 no, your comment was ignorant.

  • @ny18888

It is cool that there are different types of music. If all people love mumford and sons it would be like this here: Ohmygod MARCUS MUMFORD OMG OMG! All stupid people will come here, now only the cool people are listening to mumford and sons :)

  • @Loscalos Yo man your absolutely right. I never thought of it like that. If the majority of the population liked this band, then you'd get also all the phonies and wannabes. At least with this legit band, (that has more of a maturer audience by the way) real music isn't sacrificed in order to satisfy the needs of immature troglodytes.

  • @ny18888 RIght on....it is sad but that 1,367,651 are the few but true....

  • @ny18888 I think most people just like the upbeat music. Normally I hate listening to sad music, but these guys aren't just emo pop rock, they make beautiful music.

  • @Theplanetyonx word up

  • @ny18888 yikes i agree that this music is amazing and should be more popular but no need to call artists out.

  • @ny18888 These guys are one of the most well-known band in the world right now. Every 15-year-old I know listens to them.

Sure, the turds have more views on Youtube, but these guys are by no means small.

That being said, Fleet Foxes is better, and deserves to be listened to more.

  • @Stefandurrr this band is not that well known in cali...and i doubt kids under age of 18 would listen to this band since it's very vintage. kids like bieber, gaga,...etc the upbeat stuff. Anyways i fell in love with this band when i came across white blank page song.

  • @iComeWithU "vintage"? What? You mean it's folk inspired. Not Vintage. This isn't Sinatra.

My friends little sister (who is 15) and all her friends love this band. They also like Bieber lol.

  • @Stefandurrr vintage as in old style...Sinatra is classic. Hmm they definitely has good taste in music lol..if u exclude bieber.

  • @iComeWithU You cannot stereotype what kids listen to when I found this band when i was 14 and i immediately fell in love with them. I would rather shag a goose than listen to justin bieber, lady gaga, etc. Yes i know plenty of young people that do listen to gaga and bieber but im not one of them and many of my piers aren't either. You are basically saying that there are bands for adults and bands for kids which is bollocks. That's like saying all kids have a shit taste in music.

  • @allfreakedout799 you're right i can't stereotype what kids listen to but wat i can say is...majority of them r into music that r being overplayed on the radio. the rest r of course listen to the music with great lyrics...it's nice to see someone appreciate great music n not being brainwash by those music on drugs n sex.

  • @allfreakedout799 gaga is an attention whore

  • @ny18888 nothing to do with ignorance. its a commercial taste factor which most people have. doesn't make them ignorant. i can say you're ignorant to the sweet sounds or coltrane and bill evans. theres no difference, its taste. but yeah this song is something else

  • @ny18888 It's a shame you can't stop worrying about Miley Cryrus and Nikki Minaj and just enjoy your own music.

instead you have to have a superiority complex over everyone else because you assume your taste in music is the only possible good taste in music that could ever exist.

  • @ny18888 Too bad you feel you have to mention it.

  • Marvin McMack and his sister Martha recently disclosed to me during an over indulgence in pickled onions and jalapeno sandwiches that this song had been playing when they had married each other and I nearly choked on the lightly salted fillet of haddock that I had been eating while washing it down with a pint of malt vinegar and they then became agitated at my reaction but when they then told me they were both Judas priests It all made perfect sense espescially when they kissed each other

  • I hope he holds on.

  • Lovely..

  • This is one of those bands that hasn't hitten it really big yet and you almost hope they don't for selfish reasons. You've listened to and enjoyed this band for so long you almost can't bear to think you'll have to share it with some ass clown who only heard a few tracks on the radio. Regardless, even if that happens this is one of those few songs that even those people can't really "feel" it the way you do and you can keep all to yourself. I simply cannot wait to finally watch this band live.

  • @curryay they are big they are always on the radio and touring and have a million plus on all but home.

  • @curryay These guys are huge, just not in the states. If you go to Ireland or Australia, everyone knows these guys.

  • i cant wait to go see them

  • Wow. This is the CANNIBAL FEROX musical theme (from 2:30)!

  • <3 oh my. Favorite song by them.

  • take that Top 40 "music".... this is what its supposed to sound like it!

  • holy hell there IS no dislike bar! even internet trolls cannot dislike this masterpiece

  • i need some serious help finding the dislike button.

  • the dislike bar is like my mom's penis- hopefully not there

  • @shadowhawk271 you wish it wouldnt be there, but still is. :)

  • @shadowhawk271 your mom has a penis?

  • @shadowhawk271 I just made your mother's penis smaller

  • @shadowhawk271 That has got to be the dumbest shit I have ever heard. And for those of you that thumbs uped it? Get lives retards. I mean seriously think about it: Who the fuck cares if some kid's mom does or does not have a penis?

  • this my fav band ever if they stop making music i dont know how i will live

  • dislike bar? what dislike bar?

  • I CANNOT express how much I love Mumford and Sons. NEVER fails to calm me and make me happy in a way most other music doesnt! I could marry every single one of them for being so amazing!!!!! <3 <3 <3 I honestly don't understand how anyone could dislike any song they create! x

  • clarity which clouds my mind.

  • You see that dislike bar? nope, me niether

  • TRUE ARTISTS.

  • Mumford and Sons is one of the few bands I listen too to calm me down when I am stressed or depressed. I can't explain how much I absolutely love them.

  • My brother introduced me to Mumford and Sons on a roadtrip, I was reading when this song came on and I fell in love. I mean my whole music taste changed, The first thing I did when I got home was I downloaded the whole album Sigh No More, and Mumford and Sons became my favorite band. Thank you Bro!

  • This band has made me take an interest in how the world was formed and how we came to be here because before I listened to this band I didnt believe my teachers when they told me I used to be a prawn and then I became a monkey and then a few years later I was a caveman living in a 'Cave' eating 'Thistles and Weeds' until one night we saw one of the other tribes eating a Dinosaur and thats when we started being 'Little lionmen' and to this day this tribe are called Beefeaters and live in London.

  • amazing piece of art

  • 27 people don't know good music when they hear it!!!

  • I challenge anyone in the world to find someone who wouldn't like this song.

  • this is one of the most beautiful songs that has ever been created! I think mumford and sons have a contract with God, he gives them magical words and chords to play and they get to keep the rights...THANK YOU!

  • This song electrifies my soul.

  • Although I like Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, Eminem, and other modern artists I can still enjoy real music when i hear it instead of being immature and saying that the song is crap or some other immature thing.

  • Sausage

  • makes me think about Sigur Rós,when i listen to these guys....very emotional play and very well written tunes ;-) cheers from Iceland people!

  • makes me think about Sigur Rós,when i listen to these guys....very emotional play and very well written tunes ;-) cheers from Iceland people!

  • the comments on this page are far more entertaining than those I have read in a long time. Thanks to all of you whom have made this possible.

  • raping the replay button

  • i don't understand how its even possible to dislike this song, it makes no sense

  • There was a very popular card game called Thistles and Weeds

It involved playing the cards that you have been dealt in such a way that the first one who lost all their cards was actually the winner

The Thistles and Weeds were named after the low numbers of the dealt hand like the two of clubs, two of spades, two of hearts, and the six of diamonds

If you were lucky enough to be dealt this hand of cards you couldn't lose and you would definitely be spending longer in the whorehouse than usual

  • I so agree the best music, comes from UK, whatever they eating there!

  • British artists is where it's at!

Adele, Coldplay, Florence + The Machine, Mumford and Sons, Muse, Radiohead, Amy Winehouse, Jessie J and even the Chemical Brothers.

    I love them all :')

  • Its the oldest trick in the book says I to Flat Eared Fred Flaherty what are you on about says Flat Eared Fred to me so I entered into a dialogue that was only of use to Flat Eared Fred and my good self. You hire a magician like they have on telly doing all those tricks like the fellow who says to a person who is in the vicinity at the correct timeline and when said person picks a two of diamonds the street magician says look in your shoe and knock me down with a proverbial feather its spot on.
