I like what he is saying, but he may be around for only 4 years, and what happens then? Veterans have been put on the back burner so to speak for years. We go and fight/die for our country, but what happens when we come home disabled? We fight for years to get benefits that should be ours when we come home. a lot of the time it is because our records (which VA uses to make decisions) are marked classified, and can't be read/used by the VA.

The war in Afghanistan is not a war of aggression. They need to uphold the fight against the talibans. U got Italy, Netherland, Canada, USA, Germany and many other countries fighting for a mutual cause 'PEACE'. Thats what the Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) is all about, lead by USA. Talibans have to be exterminated if USA wants to bring its troops back home.

Providing necessary support to veterans is above politics. A military is necessary for the safety of our nation, regardless of which party happens to be in power at the time. Treating members of that military well is critical if we want to have a well-working force, and it is particularly appropriate for those risking their lives.

Any President, Republican or Democrat, should treat veterans well.
