  • this is too much...

  • sail to the moon

  • Interesting that a member of the dreadful Radiohead is capable of this.

  • @andross637

    Yeah.....no.

  • @andross637 He's done the soundtracks for "There Will Be Blood," "Norwegian Wood," "We Need to Talk About Kevin" as well. He'll be composing for another Paul Thomas Anderson movie ("The Master") this year.

  • @CaptainPengu Thanks for the information, I'll be sure to check those out. It's amazing what a talented band member can do when freed from the shackles of a talentless frontman.

  • @andross637 All of the soundtracks have a really sinister air to them. I think Jonny himself said that all of the movies that he's composed for have 'serious' subject matter in a 2011 interview. Also could you elaborate on Thom? I think he's fine but his live singing isn't exactly the best when it comes to thrashier songs or stuff from OKC/HTTT.

  • pyramid song

  • if this is a soundtrack can u tell me the name of the movie please? ))

  • @anti666emo bodysong

  • holy shit that weird stuff at the beginning scared the shit out of me with headphones on

  • <3<3<3<3 un verdadero musicoooo!!!!

  • this song owns me

  • the harmonies are quite different from pyramid song. Reminds me more of Sail to the Moon. But what it REALLY reminds me of is Messiaen. Look up Messiaen's 'Oraison' on youtube. that or 'quartet for the end of time' def an influence on this album

  • Getting some awesome Pyramid Song vibes here.

  • the song makes the hair on my arms stand up.. not sure why but its cool!

  • @Jpentecost15 cuz its fkn awesome

  • The piano at :40 reminds me of a song called 'Pyramid Song', by this one band I like.

  • @kingoflimbs1 wait which band again?

  • This song is beautiful, watched the film last night and I cannot get this out of my head.

  • that ondes martenot is one creepy sounding instrument.

  • theres NO chance of getting from somewhere the sheetmusic for this, right? ._.

    at least the piano sheet..

  • @yesplease91

i don't think it would be that hard to figure out by ear

  • @LfunkeyA so would you do me that favour? :D

  • @yesplease91

i only have a guitar, but i can try to figure the notes out

  • @LfunkeyA oh, that would be great! :D

  • @yesplease91

to get the violins, do a trill between E4 and F#4 (alternate between the two quickly) as well as an octave higher (E5 and F#5). i guess that's why it's called moon 'trills' :). as for the chords, all i can hear is intervals with a possible octave (my ears aren't that good for piano stuff). in its basic form, its a C octave with a high E (major interval), then an F# octave with a C# and finally an A octave with a C# (again pretty much like a major chord without the fifth). At some

  • @yesplease91

later on the piano progression starts to change actually, there's a part where you alternate between a F# and a Eb in the bass and just mess around with the higher notes in whatever key this is in :). Probably more changes too, just analyze each part note by note, might take ages but it's worth it.

  • @yesplease91

just give me a few more mins, already figured out the basics

  • @LfunkeyA

point the C# goes to a D# to transition back into the C major. Then the whole progression loops over and over. Not good at writing tabs, so I hope that helps. Later on, higher notes are added to the piano progression, and the ondes-martenot plays a melody which i think is easy to figure out (just listen carefully).

  • @LfunkeyA

oh yeah, finally, the time signature is kind of weird. it's probably 11/4, but that's just an uneducated guess. hit the first 'chord' 3 times, the second 2, and the third 6 times, with the high C# switching to a D# on the 6th time. that's pretty much the main 'riff' :).

  • @LfunkeyA wow, man, how cool you must be to explain all this stuff. thanks, even though the explanation is beyond my musical knowledge. eerie song

  • @LfunkeyA

I would give you a thumbs up on all of these but it's not coming up for some reason. you're the fuckin man.

  • brilliant song, sounds like a soundtrack to a movie , perhaps tim burton

  • @gujoe69 It is a soundtrack to a movie.

  • @atmosmurs well dont just leave us in suspence man! what movie?

  • @Gito360

It's from the soundtrack to a documentary called "Bodysong", released in 2003.

  • @gujoe69 Makes sense seeing as how it is one.
