  • Yves Devernay , etait un grandes organiste française !

  • This was differently back in the day that Notre dame was great. Hes one of the best organist i think of the 20th century. And this is one of my favorite videos. thank you for posting.

  • Look at those hands. For an organist, he had such a technique, so much facility. There aren't many who can enjoy such liberty.

  • @violinolapiano115 The Regale sounds at 2' pitch in the bass, but it is impossible to create the tiny reed pipes that are needed to continue that pitch in the treble. They have chosen to let the rest of the stop sound at 16' pitch.

  • This is my favorite of all Devernay's improvisations so far. Such an imagination, i wish he were among us.

  • Notice how he unintentionally hit a note on the second manual at 6:24. But who cares!

  • I am learning so much not only about Devernay, but about the Notre Dame organ, and improvisation in general. Thank you so very much for these videos!!

  • He seemed very humbled. I love this Improv on the CD!

  • Just phenomenal. White hot inspiration.

Love the way he removes his specs just after the beginning :)

  • Oh yes! That's what he was doing!

  • Maybe he was the best at this time. He was very Cochereau-esque.

  • Spettacolare!

  • Incredible!!! I love this! This has come out on CD as well, this impro is perfect!! Thanks so much!
