DKC is about animals vs animals, I could think of a million different villain themes all 100 times better than walking drums with skirts (or whatever the f that is), spinning sun dials, flying masks. Kremlings is to Donkey Kong what Goombas is to Mario. Its a part of the donkey kong fiction. DO you remember the kremlings noises? All different types of kremlings had their own kind of scream when they died that echoed throughout the level, and the big ones had really loud and menacing ones.

I dont care if they belong to Rare or not. Its like if somone would go to the monalisa and order her eyes or mouth to be covered. You cant just take out established images from art, its a crime!

the level design is SUPERB, looks really fun, nothing rare made can compare, but still... it feels like a mario game than a DK game, DK now has an old man's voice and the game is very cartoonish and the fact that now we have fucking MASKS as the antangonist... (seriously? no kremlins? K Krool?)

I am very excited for this game but I hope there are more environments than just jungles. Hopefully Retro is only showing us clips from the first world (which is most likely a tropical world) because if I know Donkey Kong Country, I know that there are TONS of varied environments for platforming. Glad that animal buddies are back and maybe Retro will make board walk levels similar to DKC3 that have a little bit of underwater so we can get Enguard back. I also want Mountain levels like DKC3

@sk8dudejames I am fully aware that Retro has announced that there will be no underwater levels which did hurt a bit but in all honesty I trust Retro to develop a quality DKC game. Maybe there will be levels where you have to travel on top of a large body of water with Enguarde. Most of all I'm hoping for more than just Jungle and beach environments. I love mine carts but I also liked the roller coaster and bobsled so I hope we get more variety when it comes to environments and level structures

To my disappointment, It looks like Rambi is nothing more than a glorified mine cart level. Yes, Rambi is Yoshi in DKC on steroids, unquoted, but did anyone notice, when you board Rambi, that he only seems to move forward? He doesnt seem like he turns around 4 any reason? Example: 0:31 to 0:36 . Im glad that Retro Studios was able to take Rambi into where he belongs, at Nintendo, rather than Mircosoft, yet, "Rail Shooter" feel with Rambi might not feel good. That, & DK smacking Rambi's Butt O_O;

However, I'd love to see other animal buddies come back. We already know the "underwater" levels have been fully removed, but I'd love to see Winky, the Frog, Squitter the spider, or definitely Squawks, the Parrot (Whether if it's a dark cave, or hanging onto him, while launching nuts).

Those are the 3 animal Buddies I would like to see return. Expresso was cool, & fast, but it disappointed me that he couldn't attack.

Though I think I speak for many DKC fans when I say that it's going to be a big disappointment if Enguarde and the underwater levels are absent from the game. Before development, everyone at Retro sat down and played all 3 DKC games in order to get a feel for the gameplay. So having played the games surely they understand how fun and iconic those levels are.

@TheRealCodeBlack I didn't say everyone like them I said many did, and that seemed to be the general consensus among fans. I guess it just boils down to what you think gives a DKC game its identity. Is it the underwater levels, kremlings or mine carts? Animal buddies, innovative platforming or fun bosses? I personally think it's all of these things since each game in the series shared those similarities. But yeah there's bound to be a sequel with added features, that didn't occur to me.
