  • At long last - your transfer of Belle's BLUE MOON...the "bridge" section rips my guts out every time I hear it....VIVA LA BELLA ! Gracias !

  • Lovely, lovely version of this song. Sexy saxophone too!

  • My favorite Baker tune Mona and glad you liked it too. I had to scale back my posting time due to time issues. It may be a couple more weeks before I really get back on schedule.

  • Even before it was known as The Bad In Every Man, It was an idea for a MGM movie Hollywood Party, where Jean Harlow wassupposed to sing (Oh Lord, if You're not busy up there/, I ask for help with a prayer/So please don't give Me the air. The Bad in Every Man was the third lyric and sung by Shirley Ross in the movie. Finally, MGM wanted an romantic song and it became Blue Moon. Recorded in January 1935 by Connee Boswell. Al lthis info from Google.

  • My pleasure John and still have more to come by her.

  • Really, r-e-a-l-l-y great ! THANKS, BOB!

  • I know the song, but must admit my ignorance regarding the singer. Was she primarily a jazz singer? Thanks for sending this my way, and thanks to pax41 for posting.

  • Having looked her up, I find she was originally a vaudeville performer and sang Broadway tunes of Irving Berlin (the first to introduce his "Blue Skies") and Richard Rodgers, as well as appearing in nightclubs and on radio. Any additional information about her is certainly welcome.

  • My very first introduction to Belle was this song and I have been hooked ever since. Thanks for watching and sharing.

  • I love listening to these old songs! Wonderful!!

  • Belle is my all time favorite female singer. She sings with so much passion and makes every song her very own.

  • Wonderful ! Lovely graphics! Thanks for posting!

  • Thank you for watching!

  • Absolutly beautiful! Belle Baker's style suited perfectly with this marvel. Do you know that this song was written for 1934 movie "Manhattan Melodrama" with different words and the title "The Bad In Every Man" ?

  • Sooo beautiful!

  • Lindisimo,Magico,Bravo !!!!!
