WOW!! I don't have anything against a GED, I have helped many obtain that through Credit Recovery Classes. However, the attitude you replied to me with is what I have to deal with everyday as a teacher.
This is 8th grade math. I use it everyday and people in all walks of life use it.
My question to you is, Are you content with just having a GED? Don't you want more so you can achieve more? The 7-11 clerks I see have trouble counting change, same with servers and McD's burger flippers.

I would really like to sit down and talk with you one on one.
All I hear in the news today from Rev. Al and Jesse is the same thing I hear from black students, "That's racist!!" and "You treatin them special cause they ain't black."
My perception is that many black students and many of the black population consider themselves victims.
To me, it is all about attitude. If a student is going to have a bad attitude, his view on my teaching is going to be distorted.
