There's a big difference here between using guides to male a summit and mounting an expedition off your own back. With guides and enough stamina many mountains are easily 'claimed'. But unless you go it alone and take true responsibility, you will never truly enjoy a summit. Well, getting back off it anyways, the summit isn't as fun as the climb itself in my opinion :s
Can someone answer me this question. If Mt. Elbrus is the tallest mountain in Europe, then why do some people claim that Mt. Blanc is the tallest in Europe. I know Elbrus is taller but there seems to be some debate whether Elbrus is really in Europe or Asia. Can someone clear this up for me???
just stick with elbrus. the 2 lists of the highest peaks BOTH state Elbrus - so it is defo the one you want to be doing. But the other option is just do both :-) any climbing will help you work up to the more difficult peaks such as denali, catazan, everest
Is it really highest Mt in Europe? Something makes me thing Elbrus is in Asia. Border between Europe and Asia is in Tuapse, so Elbrus must be in Asia.
I think you'll find that is not correct. Mt Elbrus is located in the western Caucasus mountains, in Kabardino-Balkaria, Russia, near the border of Georgia. Mt Cheget is pretty much on the border of Russia and Georgia. Mt Elbrus is slightly north of the border, on the Russian side.
im the yougest kid to ever summit elbrus and it is definetly not as hard as u guys make it look but its all good wer makin a video and we make it look way harder to
summit night on mountains like this are as hard as the weather makes it. If you're lucky enough to get a fine night, it can be pretty straight forward. But if the weather changes, it can become a whole different ball game. If you're really unlucky and cop a big storm, belting winds and zero visability - it's sure as hell a lot harder than this video makes it look.
thats crazy. thats awesome that u did that but if ur blind how do u read these commnets and stuff and also i sed i was the youngest because my guide told me i was the youngest to do it. but congrats on being the youngest.
Its not in Russia you stupid twat !!!!!

Mont Blanc is the highest mountain in western europe as what divindes european russia is the mountain range.
also monte blanc and the alps have a history of the golden age of climbing...!!!
most people still reguard monte blanc as the seven summit of europe but elbrus should not be left out its political not geographical reasons

Which was harder, Kili of Elbrus?
HubertusC 3 years ago
Elbrus was much colder. You're also walking in snow and ice the whole time which is draining.
They were both hard, but Kili was heaps more fun. The Russian guides aren't very friendly, whereas the Tanzanians are great fun.

Elbrus is much colder, walking in snow and ice - which probably makes it harder.
