I bought this game Brand New back when i think i was 14, now im turning 21 in a few months. This is by far my favorite game on the gamecube with my 2nd fav being Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door.

They both compliment each other IMO. I have both and don't want to give up either of them.

However I must say that Sonic Mega Collection has better games, where as Sonic Gems Collection has more obscure games.

Where Sonic Mega Collection had mainstream appeal, I think Sonic Gems Collection was purely for the fans. Hense the obscure games, artwork from the old Sonic Screensaver, and one of the first official ports of Sonic CD.

Hey,any one else notice that at the end *Where it shows all the games* look at the screen above Tails Skypatrol,it is in perfect synch with the bling at the end,as tails hits the wall at that time too.

i was so pissed when they gave the crap "not enough space" when they were about to put in sonic CD. if they can fit it on here, they can fit it on mega collection

Actually, they couldn't figure out HOW to put the SEGA CD version of Sonic CD in MegaCollection, so they ended up putting the PC version of Sonic CD on GEMS. Same with Sonic R.

OK. I'm aging myself here, but I have to be truthful. I've been collecting Sonic ever since he was born. I highly recommend this game for Sonic fans just starting out becuase it has most of the Sonic games that was on the Genesis and Game Gear collections. Plus, it's good to have when your Genesis and Game Gear systems wear out(GOD FORBID!).

As much as I enjoyed Gems Collection, Sega made the biggest mistake by removing the Streets of Rage trilogy and Bonanza Bros. from the Japanese version. Something Sega shouldn't have tampered with in the first place, as Bonanza Bros. is now on the PS2 Genesis/Mega Drive Collection, while the SOR trilogy is available for the Wii Virtual Console.

I had Sonic Gems Collection when I was 9 years old and that game was cool. I don't know where it is now, because my big brother's Gamecube got thrown away, I think.

I like this CD. I'm really enjoying some of these Sonic games from the Game Gear, the Sega Saturn, and the Sonic CD for the Sega CD.

I would give the game a 7.5. Even though it inculdes the rare Sonic CD and Sonic Championsihp, It does have lots of mediocre stuff, like the game-gear games and removing Knuckles Chaotix and SEGASonic The Hedgehog
