@tapion123 Short Block = the portion of the engine above the oil pan and below the head gasket. The best known combination for an IS300 is a short block from a 2JZ-GTE (TT engine) and the VVTi head from a 2JZ-GE which comes stock in a USDM IS300. OR you can purchase a 2JZ-GTE with VVTi from Japan out of a 94+ Aristo for about 2 grand with an Automatic Trans.. Add another 3-4 grand for a Getrag 6 speed Trans.

and the 2jz is one of the strongest motors stock you can have. its built like a champ.

Yeah, but not the naturally aspirated 2jz-ge. The NA model does not come with forged crank, forged rods, or the extra oil squirters that come with the 2jz-gte. Also, they are not as good for boosting as the 2jz-gte because they come with higher compression ratios.

I would try to keep it with in 400 hp on the stock internals. However, if it was the 2jzgte, you can comfortably push 700 hp + on stock internals.

its cool when i run 15 psi i usually run about 610 hp at the wheels and when i run my normal at 20 psi i run about 630-640 at the wheels and yea thats the only difference

dude... is300 = supra in the form of a luxury sedan... similar weight whether you believe it or not...

the stock is300 has the same engine as the supra except that the internals are slightly different and has no turbo.. a lot cheaper and easier to find though.

No point? The car has over 700hp. Wider tires is recommended so the car doesnt spin and lose control and these people die. I would never go WOT in a car like this when a skinny ass tire like a 215 is being used. Hell i wouldnt even do it on a 265 tire.

i wasnt saying "no point" to running a wider tire PERIOD, i was referring to running a 225 tire on a stock IS300 rim as it is 7" wide! he OBVIOUSLY needs wider rims, and the widest he's going to be able to fit on the back is about a 265 tire with a MAJOR shave/roll in the back.
