  • THE INDIAN PEOPLE NEED ASSISTANCE, THEY ARE FREE SPIRITED PEOPLE & CANNOT LIVE IN A CAGE OF POVERTY, THEY HAVE BEEN PUSHED INTO A SMALL CORNER OF DESPAIR. THEY HAVE CHILDREN THAT NEED TO SEE HOPE NOT HELL.

  • When you take the land from the people they can no longer live as they have lived for thousands of years. You kill their elders so they have no history, you teach them your language so they have no voice. Then you give them whiskey and you wonder why they sit there and get drunk. What else is there to do? America you are done, your turn to reap what you have sown.

  • same thing in manitoba but no as worse as this .....awe....

  • this made cry

  • The saddest part is that this doesn't have to be like this. The people have been forced into it with white economics. Money was made, or at least presented to be, a necessity. Coupled with taxation and being held onto reservations, it becomes an exceedingly toxic situation.

  • Although people on this and other reservations are working hard to improve the conditions of their people, the poverty and problems of unemployment, abuse and violence remain. The government should take responsibility for this and take serious action to help the people get a better life. Before the whites came to this land, the people had a worthy life. It is time to make amends...

  • The Govt Should give these Natives Billions of Dollars since this is Their land. They put them in Useless Reservation to say that they gave these Natives a Land. What land? What damn land you can't grow anything in these Reservations, they are useless. And then the president and president's family are living like kings. And all politicians making so much money while the REAL Americans(Natives) are suffering like this.

  • I wonder if U.S. government is not ashamed by such 3rd world like living conditions in the heart of their country (I`m really shocked, I`m german and I knew nothing about this). I mean they want to bring their lifestyle to the rest of the world - WHAT AN ADVERTISING!! I hope strongly that the inhabitants in pine ridge reservation find solutions for most of their problems by themselves. Don`t wait that others will do!! Feel free to discuss with me.

  • I want my ashes scattered on pine ridge

  • historical trauma.

  • Instead of criticizing, ask how you can help. Your judgement and opinions don't change anyone's life.

  • o.o'

  • Honestly, no trash service- organize atleast! Dig a damn pit with a shovel if you have to ! Even if your poor, it doesnt make an excuse for PURE LAZINESS! Oh, by the way, I am native too and my house and yard are clean, I kicked the drinking habit years ago and have beautiful well taken care of children! Beautiful house, marriage, and a beautiful LIFE! GOD and HARD WORK! and PRIDE! It takes one person to start a chain reaction in a community. Want Better for yourself! IT starts with you!

  • @ganeeneepie You make a good point that people need to take initiative and own their issues ... but when this is all people have known, when their will is broken from nearly day one, how do you motivate someone who has already lost all hope?

  • @ganeeneepie ...youre an idiot.

  • 12 tries to get these last 3 comments here!!!! watch vids on outher sites that dont sensor comments.whats the matter youtube ?to dedicated to the establishment and big buisness to alow free speech?

  • Yes im speaking to youtube staff

  • why cant i make a comment on this site without having to get approved?do the admins of this site understand the first amendment?

  • I couldn't give a rats ass about these useless indians, all they do is blame the white man and do nothing else. I have no pity for them.

However I feel terrible for the helpless animals. Indians are too stupid

to get their animals fixed, hence the reason they are outside with no shelter, no food. That breaks my fucking heart, I would give money to help them. But these drunken, lazy useless Indians I wouldn't piss on any of them if they were on fire. They put themselves in their situation.

  • @sarabower1 The white man took away their land. The white man killed off the buffalo. They forced them into a place with terrible climate. But how can one judge a race by a person? Impossible. So think before you say such things that aren't true.

And yes, you are speaking to a Lakota.

  • @DictatorTan I live in Canada, there are many more Indians here than in the US. Every one I know

is a lazy, drunken, thief , in and out of jail. The women are almost all whores that don't have custody of

    their children.

Immigrants come here with 2 cents to their name and end up successful.

I have no pity for you or any of your people .

    Don't like where you live?

There are highways leaving in all directions, move to a better place.

No one is forcing you to stay in that shit hole

  • @Nawal: It is difficult to put your trash in a dumpster when you do not have any trash service--because you're too poor.

@Kylem: Getting indignant is wasted energy. It won't change people's views, but education will.

@hotguy: Many people on Pine Ridge will supplement their diets with game, but they are not "wild" people anymore. Settlers "tamed" them, and then left them to die in their new world. They have been left with the worst land with the worst climates (can't grow much in Pine Ridge).

  • Pick ur trash up! Don't litter! Put ur trash in the dumpster. No excuse for trash inside ur house! Gangs? Wannabe gangs who copied Hispanic gangs or by watching blood in blood out.

  • @02Nawal At least those hispanic gangs actually HAVE opprotunities to get a job, but instead they decide to be gangsters instead. These people have NOTHING, there's no jobs anywhere. A low income apartment with running water and electricity in south l.a is heaven compared to the homes they have provided on the reservation. You're so fucking ignorant, arrogant, and retarded i could just fucking choke you. Learn about them before saying stupid shit.

  • @02Nawal easy to talk

  • Please, if you can take the time to leave a comment, please also take the time to share these videos you see of Pine Ridge Reservation, to teach others...regardless of how many times they neglect what you are trying to teach. Keep pushing.

  • Sitting Bull was right. He said if the Indians looted and mutilated Custers men at Little Big Horn, great despair would fall on them.

  • It is worse than I thought! OMG!

  • Please DONATE to native progress.org and help these people out! Don't talk about it, do something about it! Thank you.

  • It is very difficult to see the horrific conditions in which these people are born. These people come into this life without hope, none whatsoever. Even those of us whose ancestors did not contirbute at all to their current condition (like me), we have a responsibility to ensure that ALL Americans are born with the same opportunities. It is my wish that we might find the way to help not only the Lakota, but all struggling tribes, to reclaim their pride as a nation--and as individuals.

  • Devastating. The powerful Lakota people pushed into this pathetic cycle of hell.

  • wie heißt der Musiktitel und von wem ist er

  • poor - they have money for guns tattos and cigarettes maybe they could start by cleaning up their property

  • Tell me more.

  • I am headed to the Pine Ridge Oglala-Sioux Reservation in July to run a natural building workshop teaching how to build homes from natural and waste materials, the house will be made from pallets and in filled with light straw clay, an earthen plaster will be applied on the interior and exterior of the home, I am looking for volunteers, and I am taking 8 apprentices to learn this method of home building, for more info click my name and go to my website, see you there!!

  • @NewJura people like you make the world a better place may7 you aways walk in peace

  • @NewJura people like you make the world a better place may you aways walk in peace

  • @TheMady1980 thank you very much!!

  • @NewJura can women go? i would really love to help

  • @brawyn777 of course!!

  • Someday, when my writing pays off, Pine Ridge will be the first place (of many) I go with my spare money. I wish more people cared.

  • If I was in their shoes, I would be depressed too. They feel worthless. I plan on going there this year and help with whatever.

  • No execuse- they live in the greatyest nation on earth-- Give up the beer and get a life-

  • I just wish there was more I could do. No one deserves to live that way....

  • I think that more funds need to go to education and reorganization. While it is true that there is a huge drug and alcohol problem on many reservations, nothing is going to change until we teach these people a different way of life--and that means helping them to get better jobs and offering alcohol/substance abuse programs that actually work. Many have been brought up in environments that lead them to believe they're destined to fail. Changing attitudes on all sides is the first step to change.

  • @CerebralWriter many of them drink/abuse drugs to

self-medicate due to the depression caused by their situations-is it the right

way to live? no of course not, but oppression breeds hopelessness.

  • @CerebralWriter I agree with you. I'm from pine ridge, lets get rid of white clay first, then we'll have A chance to better our selves, and our children !!!!!!

  • @MrBuzzoro, I desperately want to help. I agree that White Clay is a huge problem. I wonder if there is some way of legislating away vendors' ability to take advantage of neighboring residents (I'm sure people have tried but there MUST be a way). People say, "donate, donate!" but without the real backing needed to change not only the infrastructure, but generations of hardship etc., it's a losing battle. We must get more people involved if we want to effect any real and lasting change.

  • @larsonbwl (Part1)Recent reports vary but many point out that the median income on the Pine Ridge Reservation is approximately $2,600 to $3,500 per year.

The unemployment rate on Pine Ridge is said to be approximately 83-85% and can be higher during the winter months when travel is difficult or often impossible.

According to 2006 resources, about 97% of the population lives below Federal poverty levels.

  • @larsonbwl There is little industry, technology, or commercial infrastructure on the Reservation to provide employment.

Rapid City, South Dakota is the nearest town of size (population approximately 57,700) for those who can travel to find work. It is located 120 miles from the Reservation. The nearest large city to Pine Ridge is Denver, Colorado located some 350 miles away.

Teenage suicide rate on the Pine Ridge Reservation is 150% higher than the U.S. national average for this age group

  • @larsonbwl you're correct tipis didn't have water or electricity--BUT the water that

ran in the rivers was not contaminated with URANIUM from mining. And perhaps you

should do a little studying about the REAL life of the Lakota & not succomb to the hogwash the schools teach & the stereotypes of "hollywood".Living on a rez is NOT a romantic life. Try to get a job when you live on less than $3K/yr. and have to drive over 100m. for work!

  • Pine Ridge is the poorest nation in the U.S.--a third-world country hidden within one of the richest countries in the world. We must educate the people about this atrocity. No one should have to live as these people live. We send aid and relief overseas all the time--but what are we doing about the people starving and suffering in our own country?!

  • @CerebralWriter these people won't do anything to help themselves. How do you think immigrants make it with

2 cents to their name when they come to the US. HARD WORK. Something Indans know nothing about.

These people are 100% useless. I care much more about the innocent animals suffering there than

the stupid glue sniffing, listerine drinkling Indians. They could all croak for all I give a fuck

  • @sarabower1 Animal Lovers. So ignorant. We're not all stupid, we're not all drunkards. But for those who are- what better do they have to do with their lives? It's not like they have opportunities like people who are blind to the true reality of poverty and suffrage that comes along with being born into a society with no hope. There are no ways to get jobs. This is a stigma created from birth- But that doesn't mean we can't change. We have not the resources to change.

  • @sarabower1 Also, animals are nice and all, but not really my thing.

  • @DictatorTan yeah well Indians aren't my thing either

  • This is not a race thing. Just under 8 million dollars goes right over the border to White Clay liquor stores every year, and 95% of the customers are the local Natives. Why? Again the tribal leaders,Police chiefs, officers, and judges accepting cash bribes to keep the liquor stores in business, so they all have a hard time doing the right thing for their people, and creating a thriving community. The rest of the money? Govt employment and programs. Millions upon millions dollrs

  • Great use of visuals and dramatic music to make your point! WOW
