I'm portuguese, and the first time I saw this movie, I was 22 years old, twenty years ago. But everytime i see this movie I always have the feeling that all my life, including childhood, i knew this movie... It's strange, but at the same time,magical!...
I saw this on the big screen last fall. It's amazing how the dynamic changes when you're in a darkened theater. This movie was the pinnacle of old Hollywood and the craftsmanship it took to make movies like this.
THE DREAMS OF MR MULDOON is now available on AMAZON KINDLE for 2.99.The publishers said this novel would make a great film.If you like the Wizard of Oz you will like this novel too.
@NewDisneySucksHard That's the song "Munchkinland" and they sang it when Dorothy got there and Glinda called all of the munchkins out to meet Dorothy! Dorothy then explained how she got there. :)
I love this movie and the soundtrack. It just needs a little surroundsound tweaking... On a sidenote, I've always thought that Betty White looked an awful lot like Billie Burke. They exhibited different acting styles but I'm still intrigued by the opening scenes of the Wizard and how Betty would have handled those scenes. I suspect that " I don't give a damn " would have been one of her kinder rememberonces.
The Wizard of Oz is a HUGE part of my life. I LOVE it! I luv it so much Im making a production of it with my STUFFED ANIMALS! Im performing it just like the musical (not the movie) I have little costumes and everything :)
Herbert Stothart composed the score. Who is Harold Arlen?

@gabrieljlivingston - this has got to be one of the shortest ever! its only 3 minutes long! for most musicals they are atleast 4 or 5 minutes...

I would agree with that! Though I'd have to say the best overture of all time is the Gone With The Wind overture. :)
