Ive always been a fan of the previous gen LX and GX 470s. While the new GX seems like an upgrade in almost every aspect, I can't help but feel that interior materials have gone from soft, high quality, muted leathers/plastics and woods to slightly more shiny, somewhat cheaper feeling materials. Can someone chime in on this?

i had the Lexus and its the most reliable suv ever. the range rover is not as reliable, its a fact. my friend had a range which was a nice suv but he had problems with it. the lexus is much more reliable trust me.

It's a truck engine so it's designed for low end torque. It doesn't make sense to put an engine that doesn't produce peak power until way up in the rev range in something that is more made for off roading and towing than for straight line sprints.

This is rebadged Prado (not for sale in U.S)

Prado is the baby land cruiser.

And so is the GX is the baby of the LX

I dont know why people rant about owners never going off road. Ya, because the first thing I want to do is take a $65,000+ luxury SUV off-roading and risk damaging the thing and spending thousands to fix it =/. The options are available for the times when off-raod capabilities are needed (even if they are rare), like snow, ice, and muddy conditions. Most of the features are not needed, and are used to jack up the price and make the car look appealing and high tech........

@eMilkIsland Actually, the LX is a Land Cruiser... This is based off of the 4Runner. But Lexus, Infinity, and Acura may be a suit to their parent companies, but the money is well worth it.

I don't understand how people say the ES is a pricier Camry, but say the Tahoe and Escalade are worlds apart... Makes no sense. But, thats my opinion.
