  • Totally agree with anton1990. In fact, there is a trilogy "Once Upon A Time": Once Upon a Time in the West, Once Upon a Time the Revolution (called "Duck, You sucker!" or "A Fistful of Dynamite" in the US), and Once Upon a Time in America. This one is the second film of the trilogy.

  • "I'll go get the help"!!!!!

  • If only this masterpiece would have been named after it's French title, "Once upon a time in the Revolution", it would have gotten the praise it deserves!

  • @anton1990 100% agree with you there, i really dont know what they were thinking.

  • this was a great film, and anything is still possible in spite of the morons

  • Chom - fm theme

  • DUCK YOU DISLIKER!

  • "DUCK YOU SUCKER!"

Deep respect for all contributors to these peace of art. Rod Steiger's acting is incredible.

  • the thing that i like with this movie is that the "modern" world meet the "old western " world and togheter they fight against each other.. kinda awesome though

  • but..this film is so amazing

  • isn`t it a "little bit" late for revolver in this time?..i mean the others have a ordinary pistol..

  • Sean, sean, sean!

  • chom chom

  • o Rod e o James estão num dueto de tirar o folego filme espetacular....

  • who is sean

  • I watched this the other day, great film, but I didn't understand the final flashback where John's friend kisses his girlfriend. Anybody care to enlighten me what the situation here was?

  • @ftwjme got the impression she was in love with both of them but chose his friend hence his trip to the states.

  • @bradshawvincent she was in love with both, but Sean's friend rats him out to the Black and Tans (or whoever, this film is massively anachronistic viz the Ireland stuff (Sean has an IRA flag but he's hanging around Mexico c. 1914, the IRA was formed in January 1919)) under torture (and jealousy?) and he shoots him in the bar.

  • @macchilavel thanks thats interesting maybe we have to allow some artistic license? so the mexico revolution was in 1914?? maybe he was there towards the end of it? just guessing.

  • @bradshawvincent nah, it's just that Leone needed a jaded revolutionary and the Irish revolution was the nearest and most popular thing around (historically speaking) - the Mexican and Irish revs are the metaphorical backdrops to a story about idealism and cynicism. It's almost as much about the Italian civil war his youth - which is why it's fine to have Gunter Reza pottering along in a very un1913 tank and Sean wasting his troops with a machinegun that won't be invented for another 20 years :)

  • @macchilavel thanks thats facinating. you seem to have a good knowledge of history,at least much better than mine! do you study or teach it? i suppose when your dealing with universal themes like these,a bit of mix and match, does no harm.

  • @bradshawvincent I'm studying it at the mo, but it's a life-long obsession that's only good for pub trivia and insightful youtube comments.

  • ur right about tha tank but those machine guns hav been around since 1911 shit for brains!!

  • @timokho123 nope, at the bridge scene Sean (James Coburn) is using a MG42, one of the most famous bits of Nazi weapon design ever and 29 years out of date. But at least you were polite about it.

  • a great movie with heart humour and passion and music.also a lot to say on the impact of revolutions on poor peoples lives "duck you suckers!"

  • Seeing the live performance brought tears to my eyes, it was just beautiful to actually witness live music that I grew up listening to.

  • @LoverOfVenom Lucky! :D

  • Duck your sucker! ;-)

  • Linda. Traz-me recordações felizes de minha infância com meu Pai!

  • This theme takes me back to when I was six years old and my dad had to go into hospital. I was so worried about him that I couldn't sleep for days, so one night I crept down stairs at about 2am and this movie happened to be on TV. Even at such a young age it brought me peace, and now it reminds me of that time so long, long ago. God bless you dad.

  • i just purchased this special edition movie, the music is so special and nice.

  • Sean

    Juan

    John

    its =

  • Beautiful theme song!

  • Seán is Irish for John

  • @PunkAttitude8V

    Moron.

  • @PunkAttitude8V

    what makes you say that?

  • @bollpwnbay It was weird ass movie. Zoom ins of people chewing on their food. Confusing flashbacks

  • @PunkAttitude8V

the movie says exactly what it should say... chewing food scene at the beginning makes more sense than most of the movies made today.

  • @bollpwnbay I could care less

  • @bollpwnbay i agree. the close up on the food chewing really emphasised there greed and his hunger!

  • @bradshawvincent

that's exactly what director wanted to say.

  • @PunkAttitude8V You sir, can suck my balls

  • @BeardedHoplite Hey man. This movie was retarded. There are WAY better westerns than this crapfest.

  • brilliant movie and music

  • When I saw the directors cut... I realized... this is a MOVIE... in all it senses and should be. Please folks, take a step from the vampire flicks and whatch a movie. This gives you all what life has to do with it. Maybe too many male roles... but yet again... fantastic movie... it's a MOVIE. Longing for a daring director... and pleeeeze... do not TRY to make a remake.

  • im 14 and i love the film its one of the best films ever made and its a sad movie too

how fortunate to be around when art like this is born

  • classic love it

  • ahh - this is reharmonised - I had a ennio moricone cd once and it had ANOTHER different version of the theme tune - where from arises such crazy assymetry? What and where is the one I remember from the american film version shown on British TV in the early 90's while I was drunk and crying?

  • A wonderful movie and soundtrack from a earlier time when I thought anything was possible. Thanks for the memory

  • There is actually another version to this song on Hollywood Records thats sounds better in my opinion. But my copy is in bad shape. Wish i knew someone that had it.

  • @farodyoung
