My JVC camera sucks because it records in a type of file that nobody or no program uses and the program they have to do the one touch upload crap also sucks because it turns out in horrible quality on YouTube. It's a great camera though for playing on your tv via HDMI but other than that it's useless. I want to upload 1080P on YouTube not 240P.
@Gman200108 You mean the .MTS files? Use a free program called "VLC media player" which you can download, it works fine. If you get strange lines on the video then you need to de-interlace first.

I have a JVC everio GZ-MS230AU camcorder and when i export my videos from the camera and put them in a folder on my desktop they show up. But then when i try to edit them with windows movie maker 2.6 i go to the folder and they dont show up. They are in a .MOD file format as default. When i change the file format to something like .AVI or anything else and drag it on the timeline the video wont show up. I know you do not have anything to do with windows movie maker but maybe its something else

@MonctonScooting There are two ways to upload videos to YouTube when using an Everio Camera -- directly by going to YouTube’s web site and following their procedures, or you can use the provided Everio MediaBrowser software. When using the Everio software, you can change the quality of the video from standard quality to high quality. This affects how the video is compressed before uploading. We recommend using the high quality mode for better quality video, but uploading will take longer.

@themaratshow It's not clear exactly what you're trying to do, but to upload a video to YouTube you first have to move the file to your computer, and that requires connecting the camcorder to your computer with a USB cable.
Is there a way you can edit the footage before putting it on youtube? Like add special effects, put scenes together (vs. put it all in one clip of footage)? I hope so, or I bought the wrong camcorder.

@terminator96744 The MediaBrowser software is for Windows computers. There's a separate tutorial that explains editing with iMovie. As for uploading to YouTube, this can be done using the YouTube uploader.

I tried allowing it as an exception on my firewall, I tried uploading it to my computer, this camera is garbage. DO NOT buy. Save your money and buy a better camera. And it is NOT HD. Grainy video unless you are outside in daylight. My house has LOTS of windows and light and the video is still shit. Thank god i got this on sale.

Go to the JVC home page, click on the "Support" tab at the far right, select "Software Updates" from the drop-down menu, scoll down to "Everio and Camcorder". There, you'll see "Everio MediaBrowser Update". We'd provide the url here to make it easier, but YouTube doesn't allow url's to be posted to comments and replies.
i want to put a series of videos into one video before i upload it. but when i upload the videos onto my computer one at a time, they are not formatted to be an .mpeg file or .avi file. its always a .mod file. therefore, i cannot put all the videos into one video and edit them. i use windows movie maker to edit them.

@demminicole1346 You most likely need to update your software. Go to the jvc website, click the "Everio/Camcorders" tab, at the bottom there's a button for "Everio Software Updates & Offers". Click to be taken to a software update page. Sorry, but YouTube doesn't allow us to include url's in these messages.

I'm buying a HD Camcorder real soon and i will be recording at a convention and planning on doing some Video Game playthroughs, but i don't know how would i record for like 2 hours each and put it on youtube for like 10 minutes each in Parts.

@TheRain911 Most likely, you need to update the software. Go to the jvc website (YouTube doesn't allow url's to be posted here, otherwise I'd just provide you with the link). At our site, click on the "Everio/Camcorder" tab, and toward the bottom on the left you 'll see a button for Everio Software & Updates. Click that and you'll be taken to the update page.

@matthewm04 You can use any USB cable that has a standard or "Regular A" terminal on one end and a Mini (or B) plug on the other end. The camcorder also came with a disc containing software for organizing your video and, depending on what model you have, for uploading videos to YouTube. But, you can still upload to YouTube without the software using the YouTube uploader. If you've lost the disc and want a replacement, contact our Customer Care department: 800-252-5722.

However I don't believe I can upload the .mod files directly to You Tube - believe I need to jump through some hoops to convert it to a more mainstream format. @stevebroski I was able to upload to youtube by using the youtube upload tool and browsing to the video stored in my computer without changing the file type.
@stevebroski You didn't explain what it is you'd like to do that can't be done. If it's uploading to YouTube through the MediaBrowser software and you're getting the "cannot connect to network" message, we will have a fix for that this week. However, you can upload your files to YouTube without using the provided software. Just go to YouTube and use the upload function there. YouTube will convert the video and upload it provided it meets all of YouTube's requirements.

Please find a solution I seems we all are having this problem. When I first got my cam I uploaded on vid.. but I hadn't put the cd rom in the thing I havn't been able to upload anythng since..
I have the same problem so on Everio MediaBrowser HD i have to convert the files to avi and then upload the videos and because of it my video quality on the videos is far from HD

I have successfully backup and upload video to youtube through Everio HD ver.
The problem I have is my UXP (HD) video is in 240p resolution. At first I thought youtube is still processing but it has been a day.

@demminicole1346 You most likely need to update your software. Go to the jvc website, click the "Everio/Camcorders" tab, at the bottom there's a button for "Everio Software Updates & Offers". Click to be taken to a software update page. Sorry, but YouTube doesn't allow us to include url's in these messages.

I'm buying a HD Camcorder real soon and i will be recording at a convention and planning on doing some Video Game playthroughs, but i don't know how would i record for like 2 hours each and put it on youtube for like 10 minutes each in Parts.
if i put it in one folder like 2 videos like over 2 hours of video footage will it be put it in parts like p 1/4?
If anyone can help me out just let me know

I press upload and it tells me cannot connect to network (step 4) but I do have internet connection I did everything the video said. Instead of me having to go and talk to customer service could one of you please help me, thank you.

@TheRain911 Most likely, you need to update the software. Go to the jvc website (YouTube doesn't allow url's to be posted here, otherwise I'd just provide you with the link). At our site, click on the "Everio/Camcorder" tab, and toward the bottom on the left you 'll see a button for Everio Software & Updates. Click that and you'll be taken to the update page.

@matthewm04 You can use any USB cable that has a standard or "Regular A" terminal on one end and a Mini (or B) plug on the other end. The camcorder also came with a disc containing software for organizing your video and, depending on what model you have, for uploading videos to YouTube. But, you can still upload to YouTube without the software using the YouTube uploader. If you've lost the disc and want a replacement, contact our Customer Care department: 800-252-5722.

@jvcamerica - fair enough, I'll remove my comment as it was a bit inflammatory. However I don't believe I can upload the .mod files directly to You Tube - believe I need to jump through some hoops to convert it to a more mainstream format. Let's just say the provided software was underwhelming to begin with, and now that the YouTube upload functionality is broken it's really frustrating.

@stevebroski I was able to upload to youtube by using the youtube upload tool and browsing to the video stored in my computer without changing the file type.

@stevebroski You didn't explain what it is you'd like to do that can't be done. If it's uploading to YouTube through the MediaBrowser software and you're getting the "cannot connect to network" message, we will have a fix for that this week. However, you can upload your files to YouTube without using the provided software. Just go to YouTube and use the upload function there. YouTube will convert the video and upload it provided it meets all of YouTube's requirements.
