@665sophi they didn't base Alien off of Metroid, Metroid came out 7 years after Alien. Metroid is obviously heavily influenced by Alien, which is great cause Alien was very cool, very eerie, and Metroid is even cooler and while not as frightening still gives you that eerie feeling.

@McdBzsarok Really? you should try Metroid Prime 3 Corruption on Normal. You can't freaking die unless you did something incredibly stupid for at least 10 times in a row. Final boss was way easier than some of the earlier bosses too.

Out of all the video game composers, Hip Tanaka is absolutely astonishing for his ability to come up with haunting tunes using so few instruments and abstract but tantalizing melodies.

Kraid was the best boss ever, second only to mother brain. I really wanted mother brain to be in the prime series. It may be in other M but there is no way I will ever play that in a lifetime. I don't know, I just can't imagine playing a Metroid game without taking time to take in the atmosphere and the music, or to just mindlessly explore.

The only one I've ever done a speedrun of is Zero Mission, and that was just because I had already played threw it casually about five times already, and I wanted to try something new with it.
