THIS IS SUCH A GOOD SONG!!! SO WHY CAN I NOT FIND A GREAT COVER!!? SO I TRIED TO DO THE JOB MYSELF!! PLEASE CHECK IT OUT ON MY CHANNEL!! THUMBS UP IF YOU LIKE IT SO OTHERS CAN SEE IT!
@665sophi they didn't base Alien off of Metroid, Metroid came out 7 years after Alien. Metroid is obviously heavily influenced by Alien, which is great cause Alien was very cool, very eerie, and Metroid is even cooler and while not as frightening still gives you that eerie feeling.
@TrafficRiot911 Yeah, what I meant. The song that plays when the Sigourney Weaver is on the planet scanning the eggs sounds very similar to the Kraids hideout music.
I think there is only one game missing to complete metroid series, between metroid prime 3 an metroid 2: the return of samus, because at the end of metroid prime 3 an unknow ship follows samus at the end of the game (at 100%)
@FissionMetroid101 Well Metroid has this weird thing called a "time line" that most Nintendo games disregard, and in the current time line Kraid is dead so we'll never hear this amazing music again! But no need to worry, we have Meta Ridley to compensate.
@IRSPONGEBOB Well Ridley has been in almost all of them, and the excuse to bring him back was that they cloned him. So they could bring Kraid back that way.
i wish games still had this sense of mystery.i mean, just look at the background for this starting screen. just a barren landscape with some hills/mountains.
@kralle333 I actually thought this theme was a "catchy melody common in the NES days", which is a good thing, because it made it memorable. Probably the catchiest tune in the game. =P
You know at first Kraid and Samus use to look the same size in the NES version. Now in Super Metroid, I don't even think Samus is the size of one of Kraid's Fingernail let alone Finger.
@acegotflows they were so terrified by the Metroids that they forgot to roll into a ball so that they could lay their bombs and now they live their lives in constant fear of this Metroid music.
I guess I've become an old fuddy-duddy because I don't play video games much anymore but I won't lie and say that I don't have some good memories from playing Metroid.
I gotta say, Even though I've never even Beat a Metroid game (honestly cause the final boss is usually a shit fuck of hard (Like metroid fusion... only game I have)
I like the metroid games. I think their the best Nintendo game franchise by far. I just like the fact that they take a step away from the kids stuff and make you kill Things that want to suck your brains out. =3
@McdBzsarok You say that you've never beaten any because most are hard, but then you say you only have one. How would you have fought the other final bosses?
@McdBzsarok Goomas secretly want to suck your brains out too. Mario games are heavily censored. IN reality Mario viciously crushes their skulls when he jumps on top of them causing a huge bloody mess.
@McdBzsarok Really? you should try Metroid Prime 3 Corruption on Normal. You can't freaking die unless you did something incredibly stupid for at least 10 times in a row. Final boss was way easier than some of the earlier bosses too.
@BrandonAngelDragon Corruption was the first really easy Metroid game to come out. Other kind of out did that, which is not good. The last two games to come out in the series have both been the worst, imo. I really hope they get back to form on Metroid 3ds/wiiU.
@McdBzsarok You should get a medaille for that comment ! I think it's sad that people prefer Zelda. Don't get me wrong, Zelda is a GREAT franchise but Metroid is just... perfect.
It's amazing that an 8-bit tune can be so atmospheric. I can't think of any other song in the world that sets a mood more than this does. This song single-handedly made me buy the Metroid Trilogy today :)
This is JUST ME talking here now....but in my opinion, THIS MUSIC from the Kraid stage of Metroid is the BEST video game music of all consoles, of all genres, of all stages, of all levels, of all types, of all games, of all Technology levels, and ultimately of ALL times.
Out of all the video game composers, Hip Tanaka is absolutely astonishing for his ability to come up with haunting tunes using so few instruments and abstract but tantalizing melodies.
Even for when technology was so advanced back in the NES era, this song only has two instruments.
Kraid was the best boss ever, second only to mother brain. I really wanted mother brain to be in the prime series. It may be in other M but there is no way I will ever play that in a lifetime. Samus, talk? Gtfo right now, just get out. MP3 was WAY pushing it with human interaction, but talk? FLASHBACKS? Congrats, you just murdered metroid.
Ain't heard this tune in a good while. I was hooked on this tune, and it would play in my head all the time back then, it was stuck in my head. This was a great tune, and Metroid had some great music:)
around 20 seconds starts the fretboard tapping on the guitar :) Hey this is good stuff Metroid was an amazing and mysterious game. So was Super Metroid. Let me explain. Back in the day there wasn't gamefaqs.com or youtube or that many strategy guides so you just had to discover the game between you , your dad, and your friends. Such great days of gaming.
@Headcrabman99 Other M is awsome!!! I never played Super Metroid, since its a little before my time, I'm 18, but from what I've seen its similar to SM only more modern. I freakin love playon Other M =]

Hip Tanaka is one of the best NES composers. While his music is not technically impressive, He pack sin a lot of emotion, and this is one of the best in the game.
Before I played Metroid I thought you suppose to move from one stage to another like Mega Man but it is actually an exploring game, this is hard especially when you get lost in there.
i wish they had kept the kraid lvl from melee in brawl but made kraid appear more often that would be so much fun keepin everyone on their toes for the lvl rotation
Anyone else find it impossible to speedrun this or any Metroid game?
I don't know, I just can't imagine playing a Metroid game without taking time to take in the atmosphere and the music, or to just mindlessly explore.
The only one I've ever done a speedrun of is Zero Mission, and that was just because I had already played threw it casually about five times already, and I wanted to try something new with it.
I find it hard...I tried to make a speedrun of super metroid....I even used save states but I coudn't do it...I made it in 2:46 ...and I've seen a video on youtube with 1:36 or something like that...not to mention my item collection was 64% when a pro gets 100%...XD
@neoman289151 .......WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA....You are making mighty big claims there mister! In my opinion, THIS EXACT metroid theme is the best VG music of all consoles since beginning of time. However, I must really say, of AAAAAAAAAAAALLLLL people on this comment list, you have put a theme out there that tells me.
A. You know what you're talking about.
B. You might actually have a point!
C. I respect you for pulling out a killer classic AND KNOW ABOUT IT!
@neoman289151 ..OKAY, I went back and did my research ...megaman 2 wiley stage 1/2... is a winner! I guess it's like this, if you liked adrenaline pumped 8-bit music as a kid, then that was your song (besides NES' first castlevana beginning song (vampire killer)) to this day, memories of TURNING ON A NINTENDO for the first time back in 1986 gives me goosebumps hearing that VGM.

i wish they had kept the kraid lvl from melee in brawl but made kraid appear more often that would be so much fun keepin everyone on their toes for the lvl rotation

Really? I thought Norfair was ten times worse.

For an 8-bit song, this is EPIC. It sounds like it could be perfectly ported to the DS without remixing it.

Classic. I think I'd say Ridley's theme's still my fave, though.

I like Ridley's Lair music alot too, but it's too short.

Hip Tanaka always made the best music. Metroid and EarthBound, maaaan.

@Dragoonknight717 not really... there were a few better ones like megaman 2 wily stage 1/2

I have to give you props!~

@neoman289151 ..OKAY, I went back and did my research ...megaman 2 wiley stage 1/2... is a winner! I guess it's like this, if you liked adrenaline pumped 8-bit music as a kid, then that was your song (besides NES' first castlevana beginning song (vampire killer)) to this day, memories of TURNING ON A NINTENDO for the first time back in 1986 gives me goosebumps hearing that VGM.
