I have nothing against the Ultimate series but I think they should have stuck with the original storyline. It would have made all three movies better especially this last one. It was horrible and I could hardly see any relation to the comics. I am not going to go into details but Spider-man 2 is the best one by far.

I loved Bryce, but I don't think the movie actually portrayed that much of a "Love Triangle" between Spidey/MJ/Gwen Stacy. They seemed to imply MJ was THE love interest, and Gwen Stacy was phased out of it and was only brought in to complicate the relationship between Peter and MJ for storyline purposes in the movie. Peter actually uses Gwen as a hot date to make MJ jealous after they break up. As a matter of fact, they pretty much cut Gwen out of the rest of the story after that.

Bryce did justice too Gwen. I like the Gwen Stacy in the original comics, she's sweet and gentle and very carrying and layed back. Where as the Gwen Stacy in Ultimate Spider-Man is very brash, outgoing, and rebellious. Bryce kicked ass!

WOw you don't know much about Spiderman if you consider Gwen to be a secondary character. Sure she is dead. But she has probably had one of the biggest effects on Peter being Spiderman. Gwen was Peters first true love, She was a very well liked character and her death still impacts the comics today. The only other character to have an impact on Peters life like that was his Uncle Ben.

Actually, that was the main idea, that Peter and Gwen stayd together, Stan Lee and his crew soon realize that it was a very unrealistic situation, that two boys that just came ourt from high school got married. Therefore, they decided to ddo something with Gwen, a breakup would have been pretty much rejected by the public, so they killed her in a very nice twist on the story ( i personally liked the unexpected situation) that´s when MJ came out to become one of the main characters.

From what I understand. Stan had been moved up to publisher or something. Editor Roy Thompson,Writer Gerry Conway,and Artist John Romita wanted to kill off a supporting a character. Conway and Thompson had decided on Aunt May but Romita suggested Gwen because killing May would be a mistake. Gerry was happy to oblige with this because he thought Gwen was bland and felt that Peter and Mary Jane should be together

But the movies are not part of the comic universe. So who is not to say they can't keep her alive. Plus they already did the whole bridge thing with MJ in the first movie. People will feel ripped off if they did that scene again.

But, the films are being brought too life because of the comics. If they keep her alive, and don't kill Gwen, then, the comics were just a waste of time, and the stories would have been useless. Their bringing the stories in the comics too life by making the movies. She will die. What people don't understand is, yes, Gwen originally is Peter's first love, then Mary Jane comes along, but, in the Graphic Novels of Ultimate Spider-Man, Mary Jane comes first. Gwen originally dies on the bridge.
