@metalicb0x Colorado is different then Cali. Their medical marijuana is in the states budget meaning without the tax money from the collective/dispensory they would go broke so the feds lately have left them alone last time I checked (I don't live in Colorado so I don't keep up that often)

There's no way that was tested at 29% THC! That would be among some of the highest ever tested. It's possible but there's no way one dispensary is carrying both a 24% and 29% strain. But good marketing, I bet a lot of people will go there because he seems so confident of his bud.

Some of the numbers are alittle off. The grape train had 29% total assailable cannabanoids. It was actually 25.8% thc, and 3 and change cbd, for a total in the low 29's. @devon... I didn't sell the lab their test standards, so if I'm just using the numbers to sway my decision to purchase, they're still high. Other centers have tests from the same lab ranging from 11% THC to 23%...some higher, some lower. Like the stuff you grow, if you'd take it to the same lab in Denver, it would probably test about 7%....accurate or not, RR's stuff is 4 times more potent than your bullshit

THC is found in a trichome head am I right? %29 of dry weight that means the trichomes would have to be like %110 THC by weight. So then where do the other 60+ cannabinoids fit?
%15 is the average yield for hash. assuming you only get HALF the trichome heads thats %30 trichome heads overall weight. They would have to be 100+%THC
@bumr055 the % number does not refer to percent by weight. the nug is burned and the gasses it releases are analyzed. the thc% you see with test results tests the cannabinoid content of the smoke, not the raw physical plant material.

The only bud I've got with foxtails(I think) seems to be a very unstable cross between an indica and sativa.
The batches always seemed very inconsistent, Buds from indica dominant all the way to sativa dom. The ones in the middle(less dense but not too fluffy) usually had foxtails

Dry sift hash usually yields 15% of total weight. Being generous say it's a 20% return and it's 100% trichome heads. That means the total amount of trichome heads on the weed is 20%.. but the amount of THC in the trichome could be anywhere from 50% to 0.0001% and it's completely inconsistent.
Until someone puts out accurate numbers we'll never know.

Looking at microscope pictures of trichomes showing where the THC is supposedly located I don't think there could possibly be more then 10% THC in a single trichome head. Some trichomes could contain no THC what-so ever.

If you pay any more than 55-60 an eigth for the highest quality, you're getting ripped off. There are a couple clubs in socal that try to push 65 and 70$ eigths but thats just robbery. I think you get better prices on regs on the street though.

THC is found in a trichome head am I right? %29 of dry weight that means the trichomes would have to be like %110 THC by weight. So then where do the other 60+ cannabinoids fit?
%15 is the average yield for hash. assuming you only get HALF the trichome heads thats %30 trichome heads overall weight. They would have to be 100+%THC

@bumr055 the % number does not refer to percent by weight. the nug is burned and the gasses it releases are analyzed. the thc% you see with test results tests the cannabinoid content of the smoke, not the raw physical plant material.

@tokinGLX So what does the percentage mean? It's the amount of THC in the smoke when it's burned? If so, at what temperature? Near vaporizing or more like a jet torch?
What is the percentage suppose to reflect? Sounds like it would only give indication of how potent a toke that particular bong-*cough*-i mean science test equipment puts out of that particular bud.
If it's not the percentage of the overall bud, it's just numbers pulled from thin air-or thick smoke IMO.

Cannabis testing is primarily conducted with Gas Chromatography. The exact method of detection varies depending on the lab equipment. FID, MS, or even TCD in ghetto labs may be used. Dried flower is typically placed in the injection port and usually burned at 220°C – 240°C. The entire sample is consumed and % of THC in the vapor is calculated. By taking the mean of several samples the overall plants THC content is determined.

Testing in Colorado is done by independent laboratories like Full Spectrum Labs and Cannlabs. The preferred method of testing is gas chromatography (GC) and is generally accepted in the scientific community as being a very accurate method when using the proper standards and trained lab techs. 29% THC is not impossible, however, RIverRock's Grape Trainwreck tested 29.06% total assayable cannabinoids, not 29% THC. The THC % was 24.68%, the CBD % was 3.23. The rest were other active cannabinoids

The only bud I've got with foxtails(I think) seems to be a very unstable cross between an indica and sativa.
The batches always seemed very inconsistent, Buds from indica dominant all the way to sativa dom. The ones in the middle(less dense but not too fluffy) usually had foxtails
My guess would be unstable genetics. Theory based solely on some bud smoked lol.

@mechanoid2k Weed cant even be 10% THC. it's not possible. Trichomes(crystals) only contain a TINY amount of THC. The trichomes them-selfs only make up a fraction of the bud.
Even if the crystals were 10% THC, which the likely aren't. It wouldn't mean anything because it doesn't take into account how many they are.

Dry sift hash usually yields 15% of total weight. Being generous say it's a 20% return and it's 100% trichome heads. That means the total amount of trichome heads on the weed is 20%.. but the amount of THC in the trichome could be anywhere from 50% to 0.0001% and it's completely inconsistent.
Until someone puts out accurate numbers we'll never know.

Looking at microscope pictures of trichomes showing where the THC is supposedly located I don't think there could possibly be more then 10% THC in a single trichome head. Some trichomes could contain no THC what-so ever.

Paul, i gotta question. is the dispensary weed more or less potent than the street weed, cause i've heard different opinions? for example someone told me i can go get Xgrams for Xamount, but to get high quality weed i smoke, i would have to pay upwards of $40 a gram for something i get on the street for $25. Also, vice versa they told me for reggie i can get 1/4 oz for $7-$10 when on the street for real good reggie im payn $30-$35?

@stonerunit5 Its the other way around in my opinion. I get fire from some collectives that you wont find on the street. If you pay any more than 55-60 an eigth for the highest quality, you're getting ripped off. There are a couple clubs in socal that try to push 65 and 70$ eigths but thats just robbery. I think you get better prices on regs on the street though.
