  • hey man I like this video thanks for it. You got more video caming for down shifting at what speed and what gear to choose ?

  • mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm CLICK CLICK mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm CLICK CLICK MMMMMMMMMMMM etc...... Music to my ears.

  • i have an important question.. when you are about to start moving, do you release the clutch pedal slowly wihtout pressing the gas? or do you use them simultaneously like driving a car? same question about reverse....

  • @georgetennisman Your never supposed to take off in anything above idle rpm, regardless of direction. But you can use the pedal to maintain idle rpm if your trying to take off up a hill or something.

  • Boy, This brings back memories of going thru the gears on the 13 speed.

  • Nice very smoth slides in are you clutching or not just wondering

  • Mate if u were a pro u would use th fucking CLUTCH.

  • @catbangin73 Guess that shows what you know lol

  • @catbangin73 Hey Mate! In America, we don't have to use the clutch! It's called floating or coasting. America has real trucks, go play with your tonka toy!

  • @DairyFarmer814 In Australia we have the biggest trucks in the world, look it up.

  • So you're using a stick, but without having to clutch in order to shift? :D Now that's pretty cool! But to go into neutral, you'd just pull the stick, or is there a trick? (I drive manual, but just a 5 speed 99' Chevy :P, so if they make regular vehicles like this, I want one.)

  • I drive a 13 speed & I will NEVER change. The best shift pattern EVER invented!!!

  • thak you! finally a video i can learn from, other than watching theese other nuckleheads shift without actually showing you jack shit.

  • A lot of people also did the gear swap to the 10 speeds giving them a big overdrive. UNFORTUNATELY in those days most of them didn't have enough motor to pull them in overdrive. (LOL)

  • I remember those days. I learned to drive 18 wheelers on a 1964 B-75 Mack with a 335 Cummins, and a quadraplex. However after that I drive a lot of emeryville IHC, with 5X4, and 4x4 transmissions. I drive the first RTU 9513 in 1971, it was behind an 8V-71 285 hp detroit. I owned a 66 B-61 with a 711 and it wouldn't pull an ant off it's hill!! (LOL) I could walk faster uphill than it would pull.

  • Many comments here argue the transmission. The Fuller 13 speed transmission is a five speed main box and a 2 speed auxiliary directly attached to the rear. Fuller recommends using five gears on the low side or range, then only using the top four gears on the high side, (each of which can be split): 5+4x2 = 13. Using first gear or reverse in high range actually overspeeds the (twin) countershafts and is therefore not recommended although some of us did anyway.

  • First put your seat all the way down and back, and take the belt off....

  • When downshifting can you skip gears? I mean can you go 8H to 7H with out going through the low ranges?

  • Actually most modern day truck driver don't know there were actually 14 gears in a 13 speed road ranger. You had to know the transmission to get them. I prefered the 2 stick 5X4, because they had no spaghetti lines to freeze in cold weather.

  • @RUSeriousnow high range 1 st gear (O.D.), or as I used to call it "super gear". About 4mph faster than 5th. Also video says L and H but should be "direct" and "overdrive". Thats a big ten four on the two sticks. New transmissions with syncros etc make it easy for anyone to drive. Older 13 speeds couldn't downshift from OD to Direct passing through neutral. Always had to do the upshift portion first, which meant dropping an additional 400 rpms each shift.

  • @rasalas2x Were you aware that Eaton made a splitter box (13 speed) especially for the 335 Cummins (very popular in the 60's) That had an under drive, and direct, instead of direct and overdrive? It shifted (splitter) backward from the od version. This was because if you pulled the 335 under 1700 RPMs you would likely either break a head bolt, or blow a head gasket, because of the high compression.

  • @RUSeriousnow I had forgotten the RTU 13's, but do remember well not to lug the 335's. The RTO 9513 was the transmission in my Brockway 359 and my conventional Kenworth, both with 335 Cummins. My first K100 had an RTO 12513 (350 then a 400). All these were OD transmissions. I started in conventional Brockways with RT 910's with 220 and 250 Cummins. Up grades I could pull the hand throttle and wash the windshield or wizz standing on the fuel tank. then GA OD on the other side.

  • @rasalas2x for the noobs: RTO 9513 could handle 950 ft lbs torque. RT 12513 could handle 1250 ft lbs torque. The splitter attached directly to the rear of the main 5 speed was the weak component in both of these and usually the first to fail.

  • @RUSeriousnow Eaton's underdrive was called the RTU 9513. I drove both a 359 Brockway and a W900 KW with the 335, but both had RTO 9513. (The 95 series was good for up to 950 ft lbs. The 125 series good up to 1250 foot pounds). I installed a 27 button in the fuel pump which put me about 375 HP and a couple of shims on the throttle to max at 2300RPMS. The head bolt problem went away at the higher revs but without the intercooler I had a problem with turbo running up to 1400 degs.

  • @RUSeriousnow One of the company trucks was a 1961 K100 335 and Spicer 4x4. The shift tower was so worn I had to hold the main stick against the seat so I could shift the auxiliary. Shop took it all apart to remove the slop and fix a seal in auxiliary but put the finals in backwards making it a double OD. Top gear was a 900 rpm drop at 78 mph. Top end over a hundred (only downhill) but it gave quite a thrill to pull all the way down if you had the nerve.

  • Nicely done

  • seems to me that there is a lot of confusion here between a splitter and a range selector. the range selector shifts between high and low range and the splitter shifts between overdrive and direct. the range selector will only function in neutral even though it can be pre-selected and the splitter will only work in high range ( on a 13-speed )

  • nice job

  • Your wrong when you went to the high side you went into 7th not 5th.

  • @PeterbiltTruckin15 you're both wrong... the tranny has 5 gears on the low side and 8 on the high side. therefore he actually shifted into 6th gear. the shift pattern on the dash or shifter knob is a bit misleading.

  • @northernchicken He's wrong but your being difficult, the video and the shift pattern is right. No one is counting counting off all 13 forward speed starting with low. If you are then he started off in 2nd and ended up in 13th. I find it preferrable not to count that way because the splitter takes half-gears.

  • @killer2600 I'm not being difficult, I'm simply stating facts !! they call it a 13-speed not an 8 + 4 . the slang half gear came to use due to split shifts being 250 rpm apart and non-split shifts being 500 rpm apart. basically by split shifting you are shifting the auxilliary section in and out of overdrive or underdrive ( depending on the transmission ) during each shift. almost all over the road 13 speeds are overdrive or double overdrive !!

  • @northernchicken thanks for the technical briefing but I knew why it's called half-gears. Also I know why it's called a 13-speed. But since you want to state facts, the fact is eaton-fuller labeled the gears 1-8 and gave the high range 5-8 a H and L split. Now if you want to argue with eaton-fuller and how they mistakenly mislabeled their shift pattern and how it should be numbered 1-13 then please take that up with them.

  • @killer2600 I'm pretty sure they labelled the shift pattern 1 through 8 because you can't count past 10. They did it just for you !! It's sad really that they have to label the shift pattern wrong so that people won't get confused .

  • @northernchicken I'm just sorry you never drove a 13-speed and don't understand even in theory why the shift pattern is what it is. I bet you also get flustered with 4 and 5 speed automatics not having 1-5 as well as D on the shifter. You can try to insult me over the internet but it's futile because I don't care nor do I have any passion for the topic other than pointing out counting 1-13 with a splitter and range shift is practically stupid.

  • @killer2600 I'm not exactly sure how you drive a 13-speed, however I have driven trucks equipped with 13-speed transmissions including the Eagle that I haul tank with now ( it's a 13 double-over ). I sent a letter off to Eaton as well, I'll let you know what their response is to the mis labeled shifters.

  • @northernchicken I'm so impressed. Amazing a driver you must be to be able to figure out where the splitter, stick, and range shift must be to hit any one of your 13 numerically remembered gears, especially when skip-shifting from say 13th to 9th. A safe driver you must also be to not waste any attention to correlating the shifter to numbers.

  • @killer2600 ha ha ha 13th to 9th, ouch I hope you're running a gas engine. a big jump like that in a diesel would seriously over-rev it !! of course you're idea of a 13-speed doesn't have a 9th gear or 13th does it ?? Not sure what knowing which gear is which really has to do with safety. I guess it's relevant if you are using that knowledge to insure that you are in the proper gear for descending a steep hill.

  • @northernchicken Well your right my 13-speed wouldn't have a 9 or 13 on the pattern. While you were busy thinking about how big a drop 4 gears is I would have just done a double-down going from 8H to 6H. Simple and easy, but you want to be difficult and keep track of gear numbers remembering everything 1-5 is 500 rpms and 6-13 are 250 rpms apart.

  • @killer2600 that's 1000 RPM step there so if you are grabbing it at 1300 RPM ya need 2300 to cog it of course taking into effect the amount of vehicle speed you lose and your sloppy shifting slowing things down you can probably jam it in there at 2150. even at 1000 you'd be talkin close to 2000 . sounds like you're a super trucker.

  • @northernchicken yeah IF one was to grab it at 1300, but at 800 it's just right.

Super trucker HA!, wouldn't be caught dead as one of them cowboy hat and boot, big belt buckle wearing dumbass asshats. You a CB rambo?

  • @killer2600 ha ha ha.... 800 RPM in top gear you are a joker for sure !!

  • @northernchicken it's a downshift so the truck is slowing and rpms are dropping.

  • Why did 5 people deslike this? What's wrong in this video??

  • well spilting in gear does nothing. its when you take ur foot off the gas the it shifts

  • im 14 and belive it or not my dad showed me how to do this and now i can

  • Aren't you actually starting out in 2nd gear?

  • @wngnutmv Yeah, he kinda is because there's actually a gear called "Low" right below reverse. So technically he was in 2nd gear when he was in 1st. But whatever...

  • Jak to jest, polbiegi zmieniasz z uzyciem sprzegla?za cholere nie kumam hehe;-P

  • I have never seen this before. It made me laugh. Very cool!!

  • Very nice shifting and everything. But I can't understand why all say "professional" and still taking off in first gear, when you don't need to?

  • what ddi do HIT A NERVE HAHAHA TTHHATS FUNNY i bet you were empl of mouth .any way got more in rev Than you have going forward that will 1big mack one fry please. OR YOU COUULD STAY ON YOUR.FARM HAHHA YOUR FUUNNY .KEEP FLIX THEM KEYS P~S I THINK MY DADDY NEW YOUR MOM . YOU COULD BE MY LOG LOST SISTER . NOW THAT WAS FUNNY

  • @amusichound you should go back to mcDonalds

  • @amusichound ok think i got it

  • What type of truck is this?

  • @nolibab3 what motor do you have

  • @nolibab3 a to w starszej budzie pewnie zadnej roznicy w w nich nie ma volvo vnl 770 i 780

  • @4NZZZ454CATEngine check the shitty dash layout its a volvo nice comfortable riding trucks but terrible dash layout

  • @amusichound ok...before you had explain to me on changing those gears..i want to make sure i understood you..so i understand it like this....u change gears normal from low to 4th...then flick the hi range switch...change to 5th then hit the splitter switch to go 5th overdrive then flick it again to get in direct then chang to 6th..then flick to overdrive and you keep doing that till you reach the top gear

  • @amusichound sounds complicated, it should become clearer on thursday...my instructor is going through range, splitter, and range-splitter transmissions with the class

  • is this a range-splitter transmission

  • 2nd.. A few years back I popped into the logging scene for 2 years. I had a Sisu truck again, 6x4 with a 4 axle trailer, Cat's C-18 and 18 speed Fuller. 'Twas easier compared to the time I started when trucks had only 320-350hp and the GWs were 64-67 tonnes in practise. Now the legal gross vehicle weight is higher, 60t/132277lbs and I had ca. 630hp without talkin' about the torque. Thought it wasn't a rocket either when nearly 80t at times, especially in the night times.

  • I'm an old, lazy fart who use to skip over gears as much as possible, started on late 70s as a timber truck driver with Sisu trucks. At first with RR's engine until pretty soon they were Cummins powered. Sisus with 13 speed Roadrangers were my favorites as timber trucks. At the time Fuller was fully pneumatic by its low-/high area changing + high range splitting, these functions were with a single lever its horizontal movements, pre-selects weren't allowed due to the straight pneumatic..

  • took me bout 2 weeks to get the hang of this tranny when i drove it but lotsa fun to drive once u figure it out

  • i drive a straight truck for the junk yard i work at it is a 96 with the same tranny do i need to shift between low and high for each high end gear? i always wait till i hit 8th then toggle the high/low selecter... but i do see how it would help on heavier loads like 14 ton of stone

  • hey stupid so wheres 1 gear

  • @fnvaladez You can't find it can you? I agree you must be very stupid.

  • Do you flip the splitter while in gear? I flip it in neutral........and is that bad for tranny?

  • @4inches4u oh yeah you can flip the splitter while in gear no problem and no damage, it will shift by itself when you pass your stick thru nutral

  • @4inches4u I am not 100 percent but i think your are suppose to switch right before you switch gears, not nuetral.

  • @4inches4u you are always suppusosed to preselect range shifts. Eaton reccomends this.

  • @4inches4u you should be fine doing it both ways in neutral or in gear

  • @4inches4u flipping the splitter in neutral is bad for the syncro on the splitter, I have seen drivers eat a syncro in a month by doing that. Just a friendly word of caution

  • @4inches4u yes I think it is

  • Sure , thats a nice tranny, 20 years ago, you could also find the 13 or 15 speed

fullers in many european trucks, like MAN, DAF, Ford Transcontinental, Fiat and Pegasso...

now its all synco or auto.

  • @haustan123 in my opinion non sync trannys are the best because they allow you to feel the gears along with the engine rpm. It gives the driver more control, and once you've learned to control it without the clutch it's even easier :)

  • Comment removed

  • @haustan123 volvo only offers the non syncro in the US i think

  • @haustan123 They are popular here in Australia, because of the strength.

  • You should try driving the real original old school 2 stick deal.:)

  • These video make me cry..

I love the sound of trucks, especially heavy ones. I LOVE the sound of changing gears. There are games, so called "simulators" that "simulate" gear changing, but its nothing compared to real gear shifting. Peace out dude.

  • this is a good transmission and i got one in my truck but in my other truck that i use it has an 18 speed but id prefer the 13 speed

  • i have a 6 speed audi

  • TO NOLIBAB3. YOUR NOT A TRUCKER AT ALL! 18 SPEED IS VERY USEFULL IN THE ROCKS WITH A HEAVY LOAD! THAT'S ROCKY MOUNTAINS TO YOU. 18 FOR LOCAL WORK? YA RIGHT! TRY A 9 SPEED FOR LOCAL WORK. YOU ONLY DRIVE A 49 CC MOPED!

  • @surfnfx thanks for sharing with me your opinion. With all due respect, I have nothing againts the 18 speed box. The fact is that I only pull loads up to 44 000 lbs so 18 speed is not needed, and again, I do not own my truck, so my company chooses what kind of equipement I drive. So far, in my short 6 years experience I find that the 13 was giving me the most fun. I hacen't have the chance to try the 18 thank You

  • @surfnfx What's with the attitude? 18 is nice, but a lot of time splitting the bottom 4 isn't needed. It is nice though.

  • I would rather driver my 18 speed any day, a 13 is good for light loads but when you pull b-trains with 58 000 kg gross weight you thank the good lord for a 18's

  • @7981abcd I pull 60K kg and the 18 is nice, but could get away with a 13...

  • Okay,One person missed the "like" boutton lol.

  • Good gear floating careful with it,I burned my transmission doing that all the time.Plus I drive a 18 speed something, not an Eaton.

  • @BIGTRUCKSROCK1

You'll only burn the tranny if you suck at floatin'! been drivin 10 years no problem

  • At what circumstances can you skip gears?

  • @cbetts1982 when you have a light load you can skip the hi low, but allow the extra time to let the rpm adapt, but even then I enjoy using every gear that I have. You will have to skip gears when you decelerate suddenly

  • I couldn't have said it better myself. Just as we were taught in school...;)

  • do you have to let off the gas to go from low to high?

  • @379peterbilt530 yes you simply slightly let go the gas and it shifts by itself

  • @379peterbilt530 Yes you do, and you have to give it gas to get back to low.

  • @beerrunner81 yeah well my uncle will teach me how

  • @379peterbilt530 Once you learn how it works you don't even think about it, you just do it.

  • Volvo 2003 ... ha

Been in that truck 6 days of the week ...

I know how it breats Cummins ISX , Eaton Fuller 13 speed ,

  • the RPMs went up pretty quickly. There was no need to go through all the gears.

  • I drove trailer for 29 years before retiring on disability, but the best transmission as far as I'm concerned, is an 18 speed. I spent pretty much all of my 29 years in the milk business and I've better in many a spot where I sure was happy that I could split the first five in the low side. I had experience on 5,6,7,8,9,10, Super 10, 13, 15, 18, 20 (Quad Box) and if I was able to go back to driving, I definitely would prefer and 18 speed. Smooth shifting btw!

    God Bless,

    Jeff

  • @ nolibab3 Kudos on a still camera dude. I'm not mad at you at all. Good work ;)

  • This was the most helpful video I've seen on shifting, showing what gear you are in as you change gears is a good idea. If the camera were on the other side of the shift lever you could see better what you are doing with the hi lo button. Thanks good video.

  • Eaton Fuller 18spd is the best transmission known to any big ol trucker driver who respects himself and his or her equepment and likes to own the road and not have the road own him. The first time I upshifted on a big ol hill fully loaded with gravel and just upshifting I was hooked.

  • @TheDidlo1 listen, I never pretended that any kind of transmission is better or worst.

Up to now, with my 5 years small experience with trucks, I found that the 13 speed was the one that I enjoyed the most. I've never driven an 18 speed, shame on me, I never had the chance to, but consider this :It is only my opinion, and up to now, well hell 13 speeds eaton rulez. Driving an 18 imply that you do local job and hell I am not interested with that. I'd rather trade the gears for the landscape.

  • @nolibab3 What ever you can see from the breath takeing interstate anyway. I've done both local and over the road. Now, The BigRubberD!ck knows pretty much anythang and everythang that could ever be humanly obtained as practical knowledge, and I would agree that for OTR 13spd is the best choice techneclly, U SHUD no why mr. sooper truker. Better then 9,10,15 and 18.........................

  • @nolibab3 But for company drivers the less sh!t they can break the better, so 9 or 10 would be best...techneliclly. And 15 spds in my has been drip under pressure opinion are worthless. Ever driven a 1964 Mack with a Browning 5 and 4 double stick attatched to the tranny box with linckage rods located 3ft behind the cab? Their fun if yer a gear jammer guy but absolutely ridiculess in a practicul sense

  • @nolibab3 They used to all be like that but haven't been for quite some time. UStayKoolFool...kuz IIIIII'm gona. The BigRubberD!ck..has spoken. Yer welcum.

  • i hated this gear box yuk old mans truck

  • nice

  • When you split the gears in high range, do you use the clutch or does it shift it self without the clutch

  • no clutch my man. you just let go the gas and it will shift by itself. Downshifting the splits same story. Shit then apply the gas to match the rpm of the angine and the transmission and there You go :)

  • Cool thanks man. I was jus wondering cause i'm goin for my license in 4 weeks. I just wanted a heads-up.

  • hey no problem ! if I can help then I consider this video has its meaning :) I don't wish You luck. You will get your licence !

  • @shadowofnight202 With all due respect to the guy in this vid,you are supposed to double chutch all your gears and just let off the gas for your splits, you can actually fail driving tests for not using the clutch

  • well, of course. to pass the test You need to double clutch. But after learning to feel the transmission and coming to the point of a total control over it, for me it is way much easier and faster not to use the clutch. and this comes in handy when your clutch actually is broken. I once did 2600 miles with no clutch because the cylinder fell off.

  • when i went for my license i never had to use the clutch at all. i did not fail and i asked at the end of the test if i did anything was wrong. and he never said anything about the clutch

  • @nolibab3 cylinder fell off wtf .lol lol lmao what a moron you pro drive for swift

  • @suzuidude Good for you. When was the last time a DOT officer took you out for a test drive? It should only happen once. I've heard of this happening, failing some body for floating, that's pathetic.

  • @suzuidude Nobody double clutches except on official sate road tests or whatever. I always ask before any new job on my road test id They want me to double clutch, they always so no. As long as you float the gears smoothley and let em drop in and out of gear....why wear out the clutch? If you can't shift smooth use the clutch, if you can save the clutch for uphills fully loaded and what have you.

  • @suzuidude Yeah, you're supposed to double clutch for the test. Then, you get out in the real world and you either float the gears or you eventually have (left) knee replacement surgery :-P

  • nice but 18 spds are better

  • u only need an 1 speed for out west up in the mountians all u need is a 13 or 15 speed! but you are right 18 speed is batter

  • damn good shiftin skills, i wish my past drivers drove like you. Coulda saved on parts and fuel. Im my 89 t600 turned up b model cat, i average 6mpg

  • This volvo had a lazy engine, have a Scania with 16 litre v8, it starts at 2nd gear and i sont split before th 5th fear, and i have the smallest v8 serie from scania, with only 500 hp

  • no way man. this is a cumins one of the nicest and powerfull engines I ever drove. I am just going easy on the gas .hehehehe fuel economy :D

  • ok, i did see the same dashboard as volvo, theyre old models was slow. here we drive much mountains and economics are ok afterall. i dont knoe so much about us trucks, but know you would like scania R620 (620) hp v8 with 3000nm :) with opticruise gear. how much does your truck use pr 10 km ? :)

  • Its called taking it easy on the throttle and clutch. I can start out in 6th but its hell on the clutch.. Bobtailing i start in 3rd. loaded its lo. Seeing im paying for the clutches and the fuel id rather be "LAZY" on it...

Oh, and the smallest scania v8 isn't 500 horse..

  • i use 2nd high, sometimes low, and sometimes 3rd, since its common rail. yes theres smaller v8s of scania, i just forgot to say i ment th R series of scania and the biggest is 620 hp fabric, and heard the next one maybe gonna be 780 hp, who knows :) i dont pay this, but if the boss dont have to pay either i guess my new equipment will be more expensive 2, so i take it easy :)

  • bobtail I take off in fourth or fifth around town

  • what model truck?

  • I only counted 12 actual gears (or ratios)... 4 direct low gears... and 4 split gears on the hi side... for a total of 12 ratios (excluding reverse)... unless the 13 one is that Lo-Lo gear (on the lower left corner on the shifter) never driven a 13 or ever saw the shift pattern sticker... only 10's & super 10's_city driver). could experts explain this?

  • @epicenter25hz Yes, he did not use that LO-LO gear, so 12 gears only used.

  • Comment removed

  • nice sound off that truck u got there

  • twin shifter, ten 9, super 10, 13, 15, 18 eaton spicer or rockwell, dont matter which one, all can be done without the clutch, and real drivers should shift any of em. what ever it takes to get the job done. Mind you havent the right rear ends spec'd with the right tranny helpd you in those shifts too

  • You just gave my wife the courage to jump from our present Freedomline automatic to a 13 in our (soon) new truck. The automatics are just too problematic after they get some miles on them. I used a 13 RR back in the old days (1977~80) hauling logs in N Calif and loved it. Never had one problemo',,,

  • 18 or nothing...might as well drive an auto.

  • @gearGrinder18 what a moron you pro drive an autoshift 18 speed lmao

  • So, it's basically like a 4 speed transmission in a car but with switches on the shifter for low and high?

  • Don't like 10's,missing gears for hills. What I like about the 13 is you can drive it like an 8 if empty or bob. I don't drive an 18 often, don't haul over 44k lbs. Got an auto box now, boss says next batch he leases he's going back to 13's. Mine is a 2007 freight with 10 auto, turned 162k miles last week and the tranny has allready been opened up for a complete rebuild. Takes forever for clutch to disingage when taking off, sticks leave me in the dust. Some say they're great but i'll take a 13!

  • 13 speed is complicated, I'll take the 10.

  • dude thats a roadranger on a cummins engine

  • На Вольво любой сможет так переключать одним пальцем.А ты попереключай на сраном Интернешенеле?

  • Do you need the clutch, to shift from low to high

  • Just flip up the splitter and your done.

  • no!!!!!!!!!

  • never known a volvo to use eaton fuller trans

  • Only in america

  • Good gearbox..But i had a dispute with eaton which they wouldn`t cover on warranty.Great gearbox but warranty isn`t worth the paper it`s written on.I won`t be buying another truck with this transmission.

  • Not using the clutch. How is that not cheating?

  • my dad doesnt use the clutch only the starting gear he uses the clutch

  • Iam currently driving 9 speed Eaton (again brilliant transmission), originally some time ago it was hard to grasp the concept of a 13, 16 or 18 speed... but after watching this it made everything so easy...

  • most 9 speeds can be turned into 13 speeds with the replacement of the back box.

  • professional way

  • i'll have to agree with shaned8845. the 13spd is only good for the lower gcm applications. anything over 45t would generally require at least a 15spd if not an 18spd

  • 15speed is made for super low reduction mostly used on trucks that see alot of off highway use, 10, 13, and 18 are great for on highway applications

  • the only bad thing about this video is the trucks a volvo

  • First of all I cant believe there are shifting videos on youtube! That is crazy. Anyway I would like to concur that The 13 speed transmission is truly the best truck transmission ever made.... Ever! Ijust started teaching my nephew how to DRIVE.....not drive a truck. I just found him the perfect homework assignment. Good stuff fellas.

  • Good job. I'd trust this guy to drive my truck. Not many I would. Too many cowboys out here.

  • "13 speed, the best gearbox ever"

    Them there's FIGHTING words.

13's a good for freeway/highway, but there are plenty applications that 13's don't suit, I'll say here and now that you havent spent enough time driving other stuff to make an informed opinion

  • My Uncle Randy jerked off to this video twice.

  • nice shifting

    i liked the vid

  • Nice job.
