Why when I want to choose the gradient and other tools it doesn't work?

I'm new to lash, right now I'm doing a small project for my lab, which include making one animation about a chromatography process simulation using flash. could you please point me to the right tutorial video which shows how to create a moving or interactive boxes or something similar ?

i am watching another one. after 3 hours i finally learned that to label a layer you have to click on the layer 2 times. now i want to know how to delete layers that keep adding up. secondly when you drag a select sqaure over your project to save how? i can't get the window to pop up to label after you press f8 please explain. this video you mention some of the buttons not enough good instructor your growing in me!

Flash 8? OR Flash 9(CS3)?

CS3 has more features so it's technically better. I'm not a huge fan of ActionScript 3 though. If you have the money and you're going to use it a lot, it's worth getting CS3.
