You seem to have misunderstood the intent of Ashura mourning ceremonies. *Remembering* and *mourning* for Husayn as a martyr have nothing to do with associating anyone with God.
@PedyZ how can u refer to imam hussain ass "Ya". u only shud use "Ya" toward someone our lives are dependent on, and that is only Allah swt. Imam Hussain was a great man, but even he will be infront of the Almighty Allah answering. imam Hussain isnt God
The Nabi Mohammad SAW was and is the most perfect being ever to have stepped on earth. He is the best and only example for mankind to follow. He didnt take part in this "Mourning" ?? He never inflicted himself with any harm? In Islam is is Makroo, often Haram to cause any harm to your health, so much so that some scholars say smoking is haram. Now what category would beating and slicing yourself come under? We are only accountable for our own actions, not our fathers or forefathers.
it is haram to intentionally harm yourself, however the intention here is to 'express greif' NOT to harm yourself.
for example when we fast in Ramadhan, our intention is to fast not to harm ourselves, even though harm may be caused in the process of fasting , as our intention is different the action is permissible (as you know we MUST fast as muslims!!, ) so if i applied your logic you would be saying fasting is also haram.
expressing greif goes hand in hand with showing love/devotion towards someone, as you probably aren't aware it is commanded by the Qur3an itself to show love towards Ahlul-Bayt (as) and as Hussein (as) falls under Ahlul-Bayt (as) thus it is a must to show love towards him and one of the ways of doing this is to mourn his oppressive, and heart breaking martyrdom,
@SICKM0F0 if you love someone would you feel emotion at hearing the details of his killing, especially if it was as heart-breaking as the details of the event of Karbala? the answer is yes ofcourse you would! if your parent died would you mourn? if your friend died would you mourn? Know that Imam Hussein is dearer to us than our parents and our friends therefore we mourn his tragedy!!
@SICKM0F0 “Say (O Muhammad)” I do not ask you any reward for this except (to show) affection for (my) near ones”. (42:23)'' ...Qurtubi in his Tafseer narrates that: [When this verse was revealed, people asked: “O Prophet of Allah! Who are your near ones? Who are they whose love has been made compulsory upon us?” He (saww) said: “They are ‘Ali, Fatimah and their two sons Hassan and Hussein”. And he (saww) repeated this thrice!!

I'm sorry. What you say is a bit confusing.
Are you saying it is forbidden to a Muslim to feel sympathy towards the oppressed?
Are you saying no Muslim should ever be reminded of or cry or be sad at the suffering of a fellow Muslim?
As far as I know Islam recognizes all of these feelings or emotions.
We cannot deny god-given feelings of love, care and sympathy towards others.
I do not believe Muhammad SAW ever denied these feelings. In fact, he encouraged them.

you do not understand the word 'Ya' in regards to the arabic language.
Ya translates as Oh .. and can be placed before anything!
eg. Ya Allah (swt)
Ya Hussein (as)
or even Ya Tree!! etc!!
Saying Ya before something doesnt make that thing God!!
