these are squire strats, so they're are a waste of wood anyway. Besides, the strats that are used are lent or given by Dirk Witte, a guitar center in Amsterdam, I visited it today. Only the last contestant brought his own guitar, wich he had bought a in haste :P. I have no idea how much this gibson costs, but I'm pretty sure it's worth all the guitars put together.

Don't put to much weight on the destruction of these guitars, it's just for fun and it's only once a year.

Well, actually the guy who won was planning to buy a new guitar, so when he read about the contest he spent a few hours at a flee market and places like that looking for a cheap, useless guitar to smash, hoping he'd win. He deserved it, I hope he makes a good use of it.
