  • experience" is an illusion. So we could be in the matrix for all we know. This idea has rerationalized the idea of a god or creator in my opinion.

  • This is the conclusion ive come to also. Im not sure im right but im not sure about anything anymore. Placebos and self assurance certainly are explained by this. I know you could also say these things are a mind-body biologic connection. But if there really is a new universe created every time there is a possibility. And our observations on things have the ability to change molecules from being everywhere to one place then its not to far of a jump at all to say that maybe everything "that we e

  • Hi, its great to see people thinking about this kind of thing, but unfortunately, alot of your figures, and logic are either flawed or misunderstood...

Im not going to go pointing them all out, but the logical flaws are very similar, maybe this example will help:

In your vid you mention the odds of some experiment showing 55% instead of 50% in favor, being 1 in 1 trillion or so..

Flip a coin 30 times and the odds of getting all heads is 1 in 1 trillion.

or.. all tails,.. or any combination...

  • actually.. thats 1 in 1 billion.. but you get the idea :)

  • i think shroders cat thing is a bit reduntant coz the cat could also be considered as an observer which throws a spanner in the works. But that aside, and imagining the cat is just an inaminate object, i still think the whole idea is a bit wrong. I don't think the cat is both dead and alive until observed. i think it is NEITHER dead or alive until observed. Which is a big difference IMO. Nice vid.

  • @mrkarlhey The cat being an observer works fine; one version sees itself die, the other doesn't. For each cat there's a version of the observer who sees the same. Neither alive or dead until observed seems to me to be saying that everything is an illusion, like a dream, which is fine too, or are you saying that when you put a cat in a box it disappears, and if so does this include from the cat's perspective? This is all rather tricky in 500 characters :) Thanks for the feedback, both of you :) S

  • @simonrobert999 By 'Neither dead or alive' I mean the observer hasn't made the distinction yet. I would never be bold enough to say everything is an illusion, but i would say that everything that we experience is an illusion. Which is different, & is the only solid fact that we can be absolutely certain of. The most solid. Even more solid than 'thought therefore mind', which i think is still up for debate, as both 'thought' and 'mind' could both be considered illusions. I hate shroders cat.
