Even though he wants- er, wanted- all humans dead, I respect General RAAM in a way. He's extremely powerful- carries a Troika with his bare hands- and it's likely his troops were as devoted to him as he was to the Locust Queen.

Plus, he didn't die like a bitch as Skorge did. RAAM went out like a man. Or a Locust man. Or something.

Does this video help at all? There's this and some others on YouTube that show some ways to take on and defeat General RAAM. I have found that co-op, having a second human player, is very helpful, especially on Insane. Also, you can't fire at RAAM all the time- you need to wait for a moment when the Kryll are not surrounding him, since they shield him from bullets when they are. The lights on the train car deck are helpful.

@Jurassic0Al That's why I originally uploaded this video. To show that when the Kryll are protecting Raam you have to use the crossbow to disperse them. Then headshot him with the sniper rifle after a perfect reload. Rinse and repeat.

That Theron at the end, he rides that hydra, he must be important yet was not in the second. maybe just some spy or next up General. u know like an heir to the throne or in this case the general, cuz RAAM was just a theron too at some point or another. i think RAAM looks awesome but the Theron's face is cooler and the palace guard's armor is too badass. well im aware its "General RAAM" but even if he is the general and Skorge is some priest leader there has to be some sovereign male monarch like a king/overlord or emperor. maybe a supreme leader and/or maybe superior of that of the queen you know? IMO. RAAM is a badass and skorge did not make RAAM look like a push over cuz i hear that in game and in the documenteries when the hipe for this game was big.

It's never expressly stated that General RAAM leads the Theron Guards, but it's possible. He was definitely a high-ranking commander within the Locust military, though little else is known about their command structure.

General RAAM does not lead all the Therons. Therons are just a rank equal to Sergeant, which means they lead their own squads. General RAAM was once Theron but then he moved up from leading one squad, to leading an entire army. Isn't that what a General is? The highest rank in the military? As for Skorge, he is the high priest. In other words, the queen's bitch.

The queen spoiled Skorge. It was bad enough he got a chainsaw staff, then he gets a Hydra? AND A GIANT PET WORM!

More or less. Since spying on them or infiltrating their ranks is quite impossible, it is doubtful the Coalition will ever learn much about General RAAM and the structure of the Locust military. RAAM himself was far from an eloquent leader, especially when speaking to his enemies, so it's not like you'd learn much from him. Still, RAAM is my favorite Locust character in Gears one, and unlike Skorge he fought and died like the general he was. Skorge ran for it and died like the pansy he was.

Yes, but he does such a great job of it! He points in a sinister, dramatic manner, and his minions go and kill the humans he is presumably pointing at. RAAM can carry a Troika machine gun by himself and use it with apparently no trouble, so he must be extremely strong. Very tall, too.

Yes, that's what he says. RAAM is not a particularly eloquent leader. If Churchill were to have an alien opposite, RAAM would be it. Highly intelligent and extremely strong, the General led the Locust quite effectively, but never really was one for talking even among his troops. "Destroy", "Die" and "Serve the Queen" are some of the only things I ever heard him say, and even when he did speak he wasn't easy to understand.
