I am doing TNT by AC/DC in my school's talent show. I'd like you to upload a video showing me how to do the guitar solo in the song. BTW I learned the song from your video.
Hi Marty I am just learning how to use a pick and play on an electric guitar. I usually play on acoustic just finger picking. Using a pick is harder than I expected. I don't know where to start to learn how to play scales and solo riffs. This video is helpful what other videos do you have to help real beginner like me?
Hey there! Have you thought about the X7 Guitar Mind Implant (just google it)? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my cousin learned a bunch of great tunes with it.
I would like to buy the solo 4 disc dvd but I need to know how many hours it contains.
I get now answer by calling for emailing the site...does anyone have the solo dvd set and what is their opinion of it...or any other courses from this teacher.
Took my first of 10 guitar lessons around 1958, ended up playing in a Beatles band in HS ('54 Strat!) in the early 60s. Guitar wasn't much back then and I never bothered to learn scales (hell, I didn't know they even existed until recently!), I just banged around with chords. Guitar faded from memory as I got married, had kids and they had kids. Now I've got time so I bought a new setup and have restarted, focusing on jazz. But it's the scales that I now think are important, this site is great!
Marty, though you are using a progression in the key of A you are using the G form major pentatonic in 5th position which would be C major pentatonic scale.
Marty, since youtube and the age of information have began, you have likely influenced more people playing the guitar, than any other human being.... ever! Pretty cool
Marty. Have you ever done a video on boom boom by john lee hooker? I can't find it if you have. There are so many versions of it out there I am totally confused about which one to learn. At least if you did it I could trust the result.
Dude! You are a gift to humanity. Thanks for providing this instruction. It DOES help and you`re making a great contribution to all of us out here who are trying to better learn the components to playing guitar. You rock Marty!!
What I like about this guy is his ability to get the viewer into the lesson with basics but assumes he's teaching at different levels of skill. If you're new, he doesn't make you feel like the struggling moron in the corner and if you aren't new, you get to feel included too.
great advice man.....id like to see how to play beat it all the way through.....not just the riff and the verse part but the bridge....lil riff in the verse....kinda like on guitar hero.....can u see when some one favs your video marty.....cuz after this im faving and subscribing.....thank you....i have been prwcticing that scale to.....ironic...
Besides a great solo practice (on the scale you should first learn) ascending and descending is also a great way to practice alternate picking. up down up down. Yeah all down strokes feels easier right now. But trust me, you are not Kirk Hammet lol.

Anybody doesn't like Marty, or his lessons, doesn't like the human race. Not to mention if you don't like him, or his lessons, DON"T LET THE DOOR HIT YOU IN THE ASS!!
@MsMMAFanatic The minor pentatonic is actually very simple, and you do not need a video for it. It is ALWAYS the same shape, no matter where it is played. ALWAYS 1-4 1-3 1-3 1-3 1-4 1-4. The ONLY exception is the Low E. Since a open E IS a E the nut of your guitar is holding the 1 for you so you would play it 0-3 0-2 0-2 0-2 0-3 0-3. Do not get confused though. That still follows the 1-4/1-3 it is simply the nut playing the *1* for you. Branching out from there, adding blues notes is easy!!
Cool man! I'm going to start out on lead guitar. I am a rhythm guitarist and I moved to drums and then to the keyboard and now I want to start out on the lead guitar....thanks for the post....I will keep heading back to your videos for more....cheers!
