  • Thanks a lot man, saved me so much time.

  • Thank you very much.Respect.

  • traktor dont see nanocontrol

  • question this only applies for the nanopad what about new mapping for the nanopad 2...i would like to know if you can send me a mapping of NP2 please

  • where did you get the nanokontrol editor? mine didn't come with it, and i need it!

  • thank you. This video is perfect.

  • fuck i have a nanokontrol 2 and nanopad 2. im so sick of this ive been looking for mappings for these devices that work with traktor 2 and ive spent all day doing so. im ready to just give up at this point.

  • I love you

  • Can you use both nano's at the same time? likethe PAD for playing and the control for effects etc etc?

  • Can I use the Nano pad with any dj software?

  • MJ Forever!

  • im using tracktor 2 and for some reason is not working can you tell me what im doing wrong? And im using a pc.. Thanks.

  • This is incredible - thank you so much!

  • armyofme4340 I do need your help :(( I did bought a KORG NANOS and after one week I already update to a mixtrack pro from numark. I do miss the reset BMP option that was on kargo. I am trying to set up a hot key, going inside Setting > Controller mnage > ADD IN

I did find the one to PUT IT IN SYNC but cannot see a way to do the way around, i mean when I press is reset the BMP. can u help?? :((

  • Ohhhhh, this is GREATLY appreciated! Thank you so very, very much for taking the time in putting this together, posting, as well as going into thoughtful, informative and easy to understand detail for all of us about tying it all in and kicking things off. You are a Godsend my friend =) Thank you!

  • @Mathemaetica no problem. don't forget to subscribe. i'll be posting some new videos soon.

  • @Mathemaetica The same thing I thought!!

    Thank you!

  • But THANK YOU once more and I only have one question. Is there a way I can get a beatmasher like the one from Virtual DJ? In VDJ it's called a beat grid but i didnt want to confuse you because i know Traktor beat editor effect is called Beatmasher 2, but to me it's hard to use and kind of boring and not very effective. Get back to me if yoou could and check out my channel for some dubstep remixes, It' time for a skilled DJ to play my shit hahaha

  • Ok. So I've been wanting to comment on this video for some time now, because if it wasn,t for you, would not have purchased the korg nano kontroller. These videos are so helpful it's so hard to describe the magnitude of knowledge I gained by watching some of your videos (Like the "How to create drama in Traktor with sweeps"). You are a fucking genius, and for that, I thank you. I'm deffinately subscribing and liking your vids as we speak.

  • you did an outstanding jog! where do you dj?

  • is it able to use at once both nano kontrol and nano pad in traktor pro with mapping from link attached to this video?

  • dos this work nano kontrol 1 also?

  • Comment removed

  • thank you so much

  • Hey great mappings, do you have them in .TSI?

    thanks.

  • wow, thanks so much and excellent explanation :)

  • genius - nice work

  • dood can you post the old mappings there way better for me

  • thanks for the info

  • i have a problem,, my triggers bottom dont work, only the touch sensor works fine... i have traktor scratch pro 2 u know how to fix it??

  • so in scene one how could i set the last top and bottom button all the way to the right ( when layed horizontaly) to make the loop keep going, like a hold button for each cue/roll point

  • does it has some dalays in controlling the eq knobs..when you show us the gain and the EQ's i notice some dalays in turning the knob up and down. tks

  • @herrschnelldj No delay. see the comments. I've answered this a couple of times. The video didn't sync with the audio when i edited it down. But yes, def no delay, delay in the milliseconds.

  • Come to my video and follow link to get full version of traktor pro FREEEE!!!! COme to the video to see!!

  • Do these mappings work for Traktor Pro?

  • question: can you use this controller next to another midi controller? you'll get a setup like this. Vestax vci100 + korg nanocontroller + laptop with traktor

or vestax spin + korg nanocontroller + laptop with traktor etc..

  • @absalomwarkor yes. traktor is very sophisticated when it comes to controllers you can add as many as you want.

  • @armyofme4340 How does one put two midi controllers on traktor pro, Do you simply plug in and it recognize it... Thank you for your time.

  • Hey thanks a lot for the mapping! this was very info filling to watch n THANKS!!!! X) now my nanopad has another purpose!!!

  • damn thanks this saved me a ton of work!

  • is this normal that you have a big delay between your command on your midi till it turns something in traktor... it looks like a 0,5sek delay or so..

  • @sebply88 The audio/video from when I shot the tutorial didn't sync. There is no delay in real time.

  • awesome bro i left u an inbox i need your help

the left side of my rmx isnt working since i used ur mappings for the kontrol everything else is awesome tho helphelp!

  • genuisss!!! thanx

  • Very good tutorial. Big Thanks for that. You seem to be clever. *Subbed* Greetings from Germany

  • I use the nanokontrol as my efx, but my only problem is, when i trigger a button, the led doesnt stay on, so i sometimes forget its on or not. any pointers? i know i can just do a midi mapping as led outs. but will that keep them on? and if so, would you happen to know the key/notes that the buttons are so its easy to do.

  • @PAGU3IS The nano's are a little tricky with LEDs. They are not software mappable. Which means traktor won't map them, you have to assign them in the kontrol as toggles. And then assign them as holds in traktor. It's the only way. But even then it's not an ideal fix.

  • where did you get the control editor from?

  • how U can use the efx of scene 2 in deck B? I don't understand....=(

  • cool.

  • This is great. Thank you! <):')

  • i have a korg nano pad i have tried everything it wont work,,,,i wish it would just work!!!`

  • thank you so much!!! really perfect video :)

  • @armyofme4340 Im making my own mapping. How can I browse with a knob? Like that "wiggleing" you did? How do I set that up? Btw, thanks for the templates, nice job :)

  • @feltq600 Hey, Add a command that says browse, list, and turn it to encoder, and just set the speed to what you want. pretty easy.

  • @armyofme4340 gee thanks. :)

  • also can i control cue points and loops with the korg control instead of the nano pad

  • @D0Work2 sure. just overwrite the command on mine.

  • how would i be able to control the song tempo? for me i found your mapping flawless except i dont want to control my crossfader i rather control one of the decks tempo

  • @D0Work2 This is easy to update... Just change the crossfader to what you need it in the midi mapping.

  • Hi. In your pack there's no .tsi file for nanoKONTROL mapping. Could you upload a pack with this file?

  • @Blay90 it should all be in there. you will see it when you import it into traktor

  • @armyofme4340 yes, it should be, but it is missing. tractor also can't see the file. there's only hercules mapping

  • excellent explanation, thanks heaps

  • excellent explanation, thanks heaps

  • Your .tsi file doesnt work in windows. why?

  • Thanks for the video, I like the look of your mappings but the tsi file for the kontrol is no longer in the download?

  • Cool video! How do you like the nanopad for scratching? I've been using the mod wheel on my keyboard with NI reaktor but it's hard to control. The nanopad seems cool and the price is right.

  • Thanks !! This really worked for me using windows !!!

  • You seem to know allot of Traktor...

My question is: Is there some kind of a sampler in Traktor? I want to buy a korg nanoPad for playing sample when i'm playing a dj set... so for vocals etc...

Is this possible with traktor and the pad?

    Many thanks!

    Great vid!

  • @fredooow The new version of traktor has a sampler. look up traktor s4. dj shiftee has an amazing video on it.

as for the current version. it doesn't technically have a sampler but you can use deck c/d and set up your samples to cue points and then map those cue points to your nanopad. check out ean goldens midi fighter walkthrough on here as well. he shows you how to globally record your samples and glitch them out.

  • Thank you so much :-)

  • Hi.... I've downloaded your mapper from the link below the video... My question is.... in the video you're using a Mac... Can the .tsi files work also in a notebook with windows?

    thank you

  • im wondering if this wold be better than my vci 100? what do you think? its alot cheaper and it controls almost everything in traktor! wow.

  • You are a Godsend.

  • A very well produced video. Good work. :)

  • Does this work on windows 7?

  • @QmarcesQ this has nothing to do with operating system. It's a software thing. As long as you have traktor pro it will work.

  • @armyofme4340

What are your thoughts of the control? the one with the knobs and such.

  • @QmarcesQ It's okay. The build quality isn't great, but in the end a midi controller just sends out messages and they all do the same thing. I have it strapped to my keyboard and just use it as a supplementary controller for synth parameters now. I don't use it to DJ anymore.

  • @armyofme4340

Well i currently Use the audio kontrol x1 and am looking for something to control filter key and track speed. as well as decks c and d. do you think this would be a good cheap selection?

  • @QmarcesQ Yeah Like i said midi is all the same. In the end it's all about build quality. But if you are just doing filter and key and some small things. go for it. it's only like 50 bucks on ebay i think.

  • @armyofme4340 What do you use now for DJ?

  • @VideosMineiro vci-100 arcade edition, and a kontrol x1

  • @armyofme4340 Thanks!

  • THANX!!!!!!!!!!

  • where I found yor hercules nanos application ( the orange that you load...)HELP!!!!

  • hey do you have tha serial numba i lost mines and i cant do nothin now

  • Nice =) !

  • it's just a video sync issue, when i rendered the tutorial. the actual nano performance is solid with no noticeable latency.

  • whys that when ur using ur faders, theres delays in traktor? i don't hv this problem with my apc40 controlling traktor. but im planning to buy nano series. hope u could ans! thx

  • link iz broken :/

  • no found

  • can you scratch with the nanopad?

  • @QmarcesQ Well you can but it's not ideal. You just set your X/Y to jog scratch and move your fingers back and forth and it will work. Here is a great video on how to set that up. Although these mappings should have it.

  • I downloaded your mappings, and being a lazy bastard they were excpetionaly helpful. Thanks so much. I know I would not have gone to all the effort you did. Thank you very much.

  • please help me, how do you put the leds in traktor on toggle mode, because when i turn on a button the led goes off when i let my finger of, i want the led standby.

  • really nice tuto , thanks

  • Well thought of. Much better than ones that I have physically used. Where is the .TSI available from ? I would really like to try your mappings 'hands-on".

  • there is a link to more current video with more features, and the download link is on that video just click on more info.

  • kid..

  • Hi. Love the mappings but alas i have the same problem as WHIPPERWEENIE, everything is out ? have done restarts etc etc etc, am using Macbook pro? any idea's???

Love the vids!! keep it up.....

    ;-)

  • can you post a video of how you are installing and show me why it's not working then maybe i can see what is going on. just do a screen recording and explain the process you can post it as a reply or private it to me

  • This is way inspiring. I'll probably roll my own assignments but this gave me a lot of really good ideas.

I've had Serato forever, and used my NanoPad mostly for loop rolling. I'm just now getting to work on Traktor Scratch Pro because of a promo thing with NI. Anyway really excellent job on the video, by far one of the most comprehensive I've seen

  • Thanks. I'm working on a really good maschine mapping for traktor, with sweep build ups, loop rolls, cue juggling, and fx presets. i'll post it up when it's done.

Yeah a lot of people don't use loop rolls in traktor because it requires a bit of midi mapping faking but i got it to work with a knob that distorts the loop roll if you wanna get a little gritty.

    Stay tuned.

  • Hi armyofme4340, or anyone else who could help. Cant get my nanoKontrol working with Traktor 1.2. Windows7, have installed korg driver. installed your nanoKontrol file into the korg editor, clicked write scene set + write scene data. then imported the .TKS into traktor. (using your updated files from the update video) but the mapping isall wrong. ie pressing the first button does not play track A. and random buttons on scene 2= line faders etc.. Any ideas what I could be doing wrong?

  • I have no idea. But i do have a lot of people who have windows 7 problems. my files work on both of my computers and friends' computers but we all run macs. all i can say is just install and do restarts.

  • @WHIPPERWEENIE the same thing happened to me.. just restarted my computer and did it all over again....

BTW: does anybodyhear like some type of distortion with the NanoKontroL on traktor?? why do i hear distortion?

  • nice work dude!

  • Hi. I have been using your mappings for the nanoKontrol and it has been working very well. The problem is that it is a hassle to toggle between scenes to control effects and decks c&d. So I brought another nanoKontrol. My question is do I need to download another editor for the newest kontrol and does Traktor support using 2 controllers in the Controller manager? If so how do I set that up? Note: I am using my HC4500 and 2 nanoKontrols. Thanks

  • Great job. I was wondering if you have come up with any reasonable way to cue /search tracks on NanoKontrol?

  • Actually yes. on my newest mapping. the crossfader knob changed into a scrub through track knob.

Check out my video called update 02, or something along those lines.

  • big up!! excellent work!!! keep it going

  • You rock!!!! ; )~

  • does this work with traktor scractch pro 1.2.2? if not, where to get

  • Check out my video that says UPDATE02 it has the 1.2 version

  • thanks for posting this.very informative indeed.sorry if im going off topic here, but dya know if you could use nanokontrol with acid pro? advance thanks

  • sure you can use it with acid pro, too

  • cool,thanks again and advance happy holidays:-)cheers

  • Seems like really bad lag on your knobs and pots. Is this a video sync on your video or is the lag that bad in reality?

    thanks

  • Neh it's the syncing of the video's. There is no lag when using in real time.

  • hey i am having problems i dont know if your mappings are the same for windows xp its not doing it right ..

    can u help me?

  • What's the issue. It shouldn't matter what platform your in.

if you are on Traktor 1.2 check out my video called update 02...

It has the file updated for version 1.2, that should fix any issues with modifiers.

  • hey man, i need some help! mapping out my DDM-4000 for traktor? any ideas how to do it?

  • Your just going to have to play with the mappings. Traktor is really simple to grasp with midi.

I'll be doing a midi mapping series in about a month stay tuned

  • the only real problem is when i move the knobs to learn the key.... i wont learn it.. like it dont do nothing

    !

  • Hi, really nice mapping, but there's few things that I find odd, like the pitch reset buttons and slider 5 doesn't have anything binded to it, I would dump the pitch reset, because even if you would use it it will mess up your pitch slider real position to the software, and slider 5 would be nice for a main volume or headphone mix.

I only own nanokontrol and I was looking a good mapping for effects and cues, this wasn't quite it, but I got lots of interesting new ideas how to map my own, thanks!

  • I use the pitch reset often actually. I have a soft takeover command on the slider so that it doesn't mess up the position.

    Good luck on your mappings

  • Do you use your nanokontrol along side of your rmx and if so could you explain how!

  • i do use it. just check out the video thats how i use it,.

  • Do you feel like having a nanokontrol in addition to a midi controller would be useful?

  • yes. I have my nano as a suppliment for effects/cues/loops.

more dedicated controls, so you don't have to worry about modifiers or sharing knobs which can get confusing.

  • hey :)

im completely new to midi controllers and electronic music and all that stuff and i recently got the nanokontrol and the pad

would this map work the same if i was using Logic or would i have to search for a specific one?

  • These are for traktor only. You would need to make new mappings for each program.

  • i need mapping for traktor

  • shut up evan

  • class )

    downloads ?

  • no sorry, I do not make custom mappings. I will be posting a series on how to map controllers. It will be a 3 part series. so subscribe and stay tuned.

  • Best video for Nanokontrol on youtube !

    Just one question :)

I want to buy this little friend :P

Can YOU "write"/creat a midi mapping for JUST effects ?

4 effects for A and 4 for B and the fifth.. and the fifth for äh... i dont know :D

  • it doesn't matter if you are on pc or mac. you would use the same programs and do it the exact same way.

  • good job,

i just got a nano kontrol and start using it with traktor...

just few modifications need because i play with external mixer!

  • Thank you so much for this! I tried for ages to use my XY pad to scratch in Traktor but couldn't figure it out :)

  • waw that's brilliant, i just bought them today... can you map nano kontrol to control the effects only while playing with time code cd or in scratch mode because i'm buying my nanos to controll effects.

  • Yeah just send me a PM with your email and i'll send it on over.

  • Actually I do have the mappings for 1.2 I need to update the illustration with some updated mappings I made it easier to change the effects while your in scene two. I basically added a modifier so that when you hold it down and turn the knob you can scroll through the effects. I can give you the file but I don't have the illustration for it yet

  • Hello Again- yes I would like the file for the 1.2 update if you have it. Im sure I could work out the functions without the illustrations- I bought the Kontrol after seeing your mapping so looking forward to trying it out!

I found your post on Djtechtools. Can you upload the file on youtube or is it best to send it by email?

    Thanks again

  • Great Mapping! really well thought out-

I know you mentioned this mapping works with Traktor 1.1- have you installed and tried this with the new 1.2 update yet?

i would love to get this mapping working with 1.2 but have had no luck yet ( Ive tried used Korg editor)

  • that is possible except that the knobs only have a specific field of rotation so if you set it to relative mode, it will scan really quick, to the point where it's hard to control. But you can try and tweak it out maybe it will work.

  • can you also make 2 of the rotary nobs to

    jogg wheels?

  • it's just the video i had to dub the sound over my camera so it's off by a couple milli seconds.

  • From the video, it looks like theres some lag in responsiveness using the vertical faders. Is this the case, or is it just the video?

  • you would just have to go into the kontrol editor software. and switch the x/y mappings there and resend the data to the korg nanopad

  • hmm they should. the only time they turn off is when you switch scenes. Also I only have the leds working where i need them to. (i.e. effect on, loop active, and most of scene 2 where the effects are in play)

Make sure that you have processed the nano through the korg editor, because that is were i made the changes for the leds, with the files provided. good luck

  • how do i change the x/y controls so the "scratch" release is on the right side and not the left . It seems set up for

    your vertical set up.

  • Nice work! good mappings...

My leds dont stay ON, how you made that? Thanks in advance.

  • nice i like your mappings, helped my think of ways to change my mappings for the better !

  • Yes Def. I have a hercules RMX and i use the jog's as my control interface and as my soundcard. But these are great additions have. you can have dedicated FX controls with the nanokontrol and dedicated hotcues with the nanopad and use your mixer externally. Lots of potential. I am always updating files so that they made more sense so check back and subscribe to the page

  • very cool!

this takes away a lot of luggage for a mobile dj who chooses to use just the midi controllers alongside traktor. Albeit the fact that it's always nice to have actual control interfaces such as TT's or CDJ's this is a really cool option. Thanks for sharing the video and cheers!

  • Hi there, the mappings for the nanopad look exactly what i am wanting but i cannot seem to get them to work?

I have downloaded the tsi and imported it from traktor but it seems to not work.

Could i be doing something wrong??

    Thanks

    dan

  • Hey There.

the most common issue would be that our versions of traktor don´t match. These mappings are for version 1.1.1

if the mappings imported okay in to traktor the only other issue would be that the nanopad itself has not been setup properly. You need to do the first step. Because the nanopad has it´s own midi mappings within itself. it´s also assigned to channel 3. I would go back and make sure you import the nanopad file with the korg editor do a write scene set and data

  • Cool glad you like them. Enjoy!

  • that nano pad setup is amazing...
