  • Man I don't know why... but... this song gives me a sort of sad feeling. I can't explain it, but looking at the pictures and matching them up with the lyrics... it makes me feel as sad as the ending of the flash place Alice --> Dere

It's awesome, no doubt. Very much so... but to me, saddening. Tragic almost. It's hard to put into words...

  • Dat bass kick.

  • I took from the translation I read, that Sanae realized too late that sustaining Kanako's faith/existence was the most important thing to her, and that she left or drifted away somehow...

  • @myxini Don't you mean that Kanako realized too late that Sanae's faith/existence was the most important thing to her?

  • @FuzzyTheLucas1010

But, it's through Sanae's efforts at gathering faith that Kanako and Suwako continue to exist at all. The line 'to keep you from ever disappearing' is what made me think it's from Sanae's perspective, since that's basically her job. And the 'wishing' was done in the past. If she's talking about a 'decrepit' shrine, it implies that she failed.

I also read it that way due to the video imagery, though.

  • @myxini What is up with Kanako not giving Sanae her hand though? It seems to me that at the end, Sanae disappears and Kanako regrets not giving Sanae her hand. What I want to know really is what happens to Sanae? Does she die or just leaves the shrine?

  • @FuzzyTheLucas1010 It's almost like Kanako regretted not telling Sanae how she truly feels. In my opinion, Kanako didn't tell Sanae how she felt because she is a Goddess, where Sanae is just a human. When she realizes that she cares about Sanae, Sanae already has left, leaving Kanako with regret.

  • @FuzzyTheLucas1010

I think it too, it's more probably.

    I call this "Tragedy of a long life"... It's really sad D;

  • でだしかっこいい!

    テクノ系大すき!

  • I don't understand a thing. But it's sad. For me, that is.

  • What happens to Sanae at the end of the video? Does she die or something?

  • i dont understand but i still keep on listening to these kind of music.

i wish i could speak jap language.

  • @lpowerboyl then get off ur lazy ass and start learning :)

  • Though i'm not a big fan of kanako , but i have to say this song is EPIC. It all talk about kanako how she lost the faith from human that once worship her with the flow of time. And how she made a gamble in moving the shrine to gensokyo, hoping the youkai instead of human will believe in her .

That's my opinion after reading the lyrics, unless i'm missing something .. ._.

  • @megawarpvideo someone named kafka has a blog and is translating EN songs and many other touhou ones.

  • this PV centers more around the music, compared to Bad Apple which had a much greater focus on the promotional video itself. The music is awesome nonetheless..!

  • Found a lyrics translation:

    tinyurl (dot) com (slash) yzjelbd

  • I've checked on the wiki, there's no translation available yet. Though I'll throw in a guess about what happened. Kanako looks down upon humans being a Goddess and views Sanae the same. But she loves Sanae but doesn't want to admit it. (Hence Kanako hesitates to hold Sanae's hand.) After all she has her pride as a Goddess. (Note the blood.) When Sanae finally passes away, Kanako realizes too late her true feelings.

Again this is just a guess, but that's the vibe I'm getting from this vid.

  • Looking at the translation, it seems that the song is actually Sanae talking about Kanako. Her 'one wish' being to ensure she 'will never disappear.'

  • I think there's a translation available at "Touhou wiki".

Anyways, this song is, by far, my favourite EastNewSound arrange.
