@pectinman agree. PF became mainstream with Dark Side of the Moon, but the previous material is so undervalued and overlooked. It isn't ALL brilliant; there's some real 60s psycho-shite in there. But Meddle is amazing..Fearless...Echoes... careful Eugene, Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun. You don't have to be high to just relax and chill :)

usually between 14-16 yrs of age. There are exceptions of course, but i see it everywhere.

@carrier3232 It's one of the only floyd albums that has songs geared for the radio. Most of the others you can't or shouldn't listen to one at a time, they were meant to be viewed as an album. When someone says The Wall is their favorite floyd album, you know it's the only floyd album they've ever listened to. The wall is a great album, but frankly it's inferior to some of their other stuff, and extremely overrated what with all floyd has to offer.

Dark Side had Money as a single and was created to be a single, as Floyd wanted mass airplay to break through their reputation as a sort of avant garde rock act. your also assuming its the only Floyd album ive listened to, wrong again. they started as a band that released singles, See Emily Play, Arnold Layne. and they only halted the process after Syds collapse Wall is great!

Echoes is the signature masterpiece of Pink Floyd. To Elephanta2, I say BALONEY. This song is not too long, it's just as long as it needs to be to achieve it's perfection. To those who feel that the Wall is Pink Floyd's best stuff, I just can't fathom that at all. While some feel that Mason's best guitar work was on Dark Side of the Moon (a superb album), I say BALONEY again, his most elegant, subtle guitar work is on Echoes, hands down! This song thrills me anew each time I listen.

I like the "live in Pompeii" version of Echoes better than the album by far... it was recorded just before Dark Side... track it down... Floyd at their best IMO... every song is incredible.
