  • fuck prop 8

  • notice the constant propaganda in the background as they air a pro gay marriage rally chanting the entire time! If this is supposed to be an issue that we view objectively, then let these men being interviewed speak so we can hear them. This program was obviously biased, and uncourteous to the guests speaking. What a joke the media is! This is why I refuse to pay for cable.

  • i totally support gay right but being gay is not like being black. Also this is not a civil rights issues. If you look at what blacks went through and then look at what gays went through. Their is no way you can compare the two. Blacks have suffered the worst out of any minority group in America. History proves that and i'm not talking about the 1960s. I'm talking way before that. Gays were not forced in to slavery. So don't say that that being gay is like being black. THAT IS BULLSHIT.

  • "Faith is the surrender of the mind; it's the surrender of reason, it's the surrender of the only thing that makes us different from other mammals. It's our need to believe, and to surrender our skepticism and our reason, our yearning to discard that and put all our trust or faith in someone or something, that is the sinister thing to me. Of all the supposed virtues, faith must be the most overrated."

    -Christopher Hitchens

  • @friteND14u gays have the same rights as me.... Its not a civil rights movement...

  • dont buy products manufactured or created by gays. Thats the only way to destroy this whole gay activism that is funded through these products. Straights just say no to stuff created by gays.

  • Gavin Newsom is awesome

  • Thank God I live in Texas where this will never be an issue.

  • I'm tired of people spewing this gay propaganda. Homosexuality is not a RACE, so these propagandists need to stop this nonsense. This is "not" a civil rights issue, but a tyrannical imposition of immoral people who are living an immoral lifestyle and imposing that that conduct be labeled a "race". Gays is a soundbite...we are not gay or straight, but "human beings" and "americans". Stop trying to discriminately favor a group of immoral men and women by giving "special" rights. Its tyranical

  • I think most if not all of the people opposing gay marriage wouldn't have a problem with gay rights if they knew that the first amendment gives freedom of religion so get rid of your imaginary friends or leave people alone.

  • will your daughter be happy marry to gay person?

  • I love Gavin

  • Reverened Jackson is such a hypocrite,,,,a minority who hates other minorities....makes me sick

  • I agree.

  • @Claronium780 Those white people are "not" minorities. So stop the false doctrine. Homosexuality is an ACT, not a race...so stop the fake propaganda...minority? please...

  • 4:00 A democracy can't vote on the rights of a minority!

  • did he just say ban? divorce? no, we shouldn't do that. we need to have it for other personal reasons.

  • How would "marriage as we know it" become extinct with gay marriage becoming legalized ! How is allowing gay marriage TOO "Redefining" gay marriage homophobes? It's just sort of like adding an amendment, you could say, to marriage...i don't understand how minortites can truly want to take rights away from another minority...back in the day inter-racial marriage was banned, why? Because whites were "threatened" by it, no ??? Well eventually that law was overturned, no?

  • americans don't want gay marriage, so stop pushing the issue

  • @prestda1 umm im an american and i definately want gay marriage...

  • @92Trojanman then u are an evil american....

  • @ElCangri137 awww thanks <3

  • the majority belief is rarely right, history has shown

  • Well that would be a stupid basis off which to make a decision, wouldn't it?

  • People pick and choose from the bible all the time this is just one example of bigotry being hided as religious. By the way all religion is pretty much bullshit. Usually people prove thier faith in the bible by quoting the bible.

  • How come all christian fundamentalists sounds like redneck idiots even if they are from cali

  • How come all gays sound like intolerant hypocrites? Because they are.

  • um, obviously you're anti-gay "all gays"??? that prooves it jerk/homophobe

  • @Claronium780 No such thing as "gays"....sex is an ACT, not a RACE....

  • @ElCangri137 No such thing as "gays"? Then who is typing this message? The invisible flying spaghetti monster?

You are completely 100% right. Sex IS an act.

However, there is a difference between sex and sexuality.

I'd look it up in the dictionary before responding ;D

  • The tyranny of the majority cannot trample the rights of the minority. Gays want the right to equal rights just because you were brainwashed into thinking homosexuality is a choice because of your religion doesn't mean you have the right to impose your bullshit views on those who are different then you.

  • Youre such a hypocrite.

My views are "bullshit" because theyre diffrent than yours but yet you want me to accept gays who are different than me. Take your own advice and learn tolerance.

  • yeah but your views are ****** because you believe in less than equal rights for an entire group of people, think about it, so tolerance of a hateful, or even just unfair point of view is not required ! and people aren't hypocrites for being intolerant of people whose entire IDEOLOGIES are against them to begin with!

  • Have you noticed that the gays are the ones posting intolerant, bigoted comments?

  • Have you noticed that it is the fundy christians who want to take away peoples rights who don't want to live according to fundy christian faith?

  • As if gays dont want to take away religious people's liberties. People are getting sued for not wanting to marry gay people, churches are being attacked for opposing same sex marriage, photographers are being sued for not taking gay people's wedding pictures, dating websites are being sued for not featuring a gay option, etc.

  • Consider this, you want the law to prohibit LGBT people from marriage, and you somehow claim that you are the victim of religious intolerance. Irony is tough medicine.

  • I never claimed I was the victim of religious intolerance. I am the victim of intolerance because Im religious. Did you not read my post? Tolerance is a two-way streak. In the case of gay marriage, there is barely any tolerance going either way. People cant agree to disagree. Its comes down to gay rights vs religious liberties and i choose religious liberties.

  • Not one LGBT person is advocating a law that requires every church to marry gays. So it seems we are tolerant, at least legally tolerant of your right to exist and not like gays, but you want to force us to not be able to marry. That makes you legally intolerant of us. No LGBT is trying to take away your marriage, so where is the intolerance from us?

This is not an issue of gay rights vs. religious liberties of the right wingers, this is an issue of us living our lives and you guys interferring

  • Right on. There is virtually NO tolerance from the gay community on this issue. They insist of calling it a civil rights issue when it isn't and call everyone that disagrees a bigot.

  • how is it not? And no, most of what you said actually isn't true?

  • Marriage will not go extinct!

  • would lmao if his daughters turned out gay

  • Then you have a bizarre sense of humour.

  • I have an even better idea. If you think it's wrong to marry a perrson of the same sex....if it makes you sick.....DON'T DO IT.....Allow others to do what is right for themselves.

  • so true, the leftist insecure puppets love to feel as thought they are saints. so politically correct and high and mighty. they wouldnt hurt a fly... and yet they are brainwashed to the highest degree. soon they will legalize polygamy, incest, beastiality. marriage is between a man and woman, gays are unnatural and perverted. they want MORE rights than everyone else.

  • How could there be separation of CHURCH and STATE when the church is meddling with the laws of the state? if there is separation of the church and state, they wouldn't argue that marriage is between a man and woman as stated in that fictional bible that they believe in.

  • that black reverend's argument starting around 2:00 is one of the lamest and most ignorant things i've ever heard in my life. dan savage's response was perfect.

  • "Majority is frequently wrong" MY ASS

  • "A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine. ", Thomas Jefferson.

Hence we have checks and balances.

  • Too bad we don't live in a democracy. We live in a representative republic, in case you didn't know anything about American politics. Oh and for all those people who say that church and state ought to be separated, tell me where that's stated in the Constitution. I'll save you the trouble and tell you that it's not there. The founding fathers never imagined a country without Christian religion involved in the politics.

  • "that church and state ought to be separated, tell me where that's stated in the Constitution"

    The FIRST AMENDMENT!!!

    Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;

"founding fathers never imagined a country without Christian religion involved in the politics"

"The day will come when the mystical generation of Jesus...will be classed with the fable of the generation of Minerva in the brain of Jupiter"-Thomas Jefferson

  • Look buddy, it never explicitly states in the Constitution, which you so kindly reproduced, that church and state ought to be separated. That line about religion means no state supported religion, such as making Christianity the national religion. The separation of church and state comes from a letter Thomas Jefferson wrote to the Danbury Baptists, in 1802, assuring them they were allowed to practice their religion. Read up on history and don't misconstrue the Constitution.

  • Oh and that same guy, Thomas Jefferson, when he was president, he would go to church at the CAPITOL. If I'm lying then look it up in the history books.

  • thats why our motto is "in god we trust." thats why every senate opens with a prayer. thats why our money has god on it. thats why people swear on a bible in court. thats why presidents are inaugurated on a bible. all the founding fathers were either christians or deists and the majority were devout christians.

  • theheartofworship,

if a simple majority can take away the right to marry, then why don't we put the rights of African Americans or Mormons or Jews up for a vote? What if we put YOUR freedom to worship up to a vote? Or your right to live? Are you ready to go to the gas chamber if a majority decides you should? Solve social security. We'll just amend the constitution so that people over 65 are euthanized, how about that? After all, a MAJORITY of people are younger.

  • the fact that religion is part of the reason for this legislation is ridiculous...religion should be practised individually and not imposed on othr group of people...that's just embarassing.

  • Dan Savage = HERO.

  • i only got one thing to say

    CHURCH AND STATE SEPERATE!!!!

RELIGIOUS FREAKS STAY OUT STAY IN YOUR CHURCHES AND STOP THE HATE

  • This is a very controversial issue!

I definitely agree that certain religious institutions are trying to grab a snapshot of the gay bigotry that this debate is ensuing, however, I do not think this is an act of desperation. I think generally, every persons opinion has been elevated and this has caused more tension.

For the African American pastor to say that the statistics on marriage present in the Black Community are a representation of where marriage is heading for everyone is a complete lie

  • and is an act of desperation. There are plenty of heterosexual marriages that are failing as well as thriving regardless of their races. And how can he say where all marriages are heading when gay marriage isn't even allowed in the first place? However, I think it is viable to state that it is impossible to predict how the statistics on marriage will change is gay marriage is allowed...

  • These Pastors and Reverends are the main proponents of Prop 8.

Not our fault the Prop 8 leaders are morons.

  • BOO PROPOSITION 8!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is why I hate when the MSM addresses this issue. They get thoughtful, articulate people to address the pro-gay marriage side, then get a bunch of pastors who aren't debaters and don't follow politics and don't know the law all that well to support to the anti-gay marriage side. It's so biased.

  • that's because they're just aren't rational logical reasons and people opposing same sex marriage

  • Please. There are a lot of very logical arguments against it. In fact, the best one I've seen was made by a gay man (Mark Simpson). Don't kid yourself, what is illogical is a man trying to get with another man and form a family. Only in this insane western culture does dumb crap like that even get tolerated.

  • It was redefined to that definition, by the way. If we had never redefined marriage, Barack Obama would not be alive. His parents would not have been able to marry.

We have redefined marriage in the past multiple times.

Regardless, gays and lesbians should be able to marry- how does their marriage hurt yours?

    "Protect Marriage"???? Bullshit.

  • marriage has been redefined many times in the past. idiot.

  • noun:

Marriage is a social, religious, spiritual, or legal union of individuals.....PERIOD!

Thank you "theheartofworship" for doing unto to me as you would have me do unto you. I think I'll take away YOUR rights now.

  • WHRE'S THE REST OF INTERVIEW?

  • wow 2 against one. what a fair situation to start off with

  • I bet that white preacher would like it if a court got rid of abortion even though the majority of people support it.

  • The yes on 8 side picked some very weak people to represent their side

  • They picked the kinda people who is behind the yes on 8: religious right. Simple.

  • Well I was on this video

  • LOL look at Massachusetts. Gays and lesbians have been marrying for the last four and a half years. Yet, Massachusetts continues to have one of the lowest divorce rates in the US. Of course, when did Americans care about facts and science?

  • Follow the money folks. The churches are attacking same sex couples because it puts money in their pockets, which allows them to give the Republicans and conservatives in this country the funds they need to take away all our rights.

  • 2:40 "Diluting an institution" right divorce rate is 50% and gays getting married would dilute the institution.

  • It is unfortunate that so many people base their entire worldview on a book that was written many hundreds of years ago. The bishop worried that his daughters won't find husbands because of gay marriage truly is laughing matter (I would bet that it would be because they are as butt-ugly as he is).

  • this shit is crazy, it shouldnt matter to anyone but the two people who are getting married and their children? the bible says so much that is now frowned upon in todays society. Its sad these cowards keep running to the bible as their crutch like they follow everything in it.

  • As a Christian, the bible stated that is okay to enslave groups of people. It was okay for women to be treated as second class citizens.
