  • My mom used to sing this to me all the time when I was little. Hearing the lyrics now, It's so sweet and I can't stop crying!

  • Thanks so much for posting this beautiful song as sung by my favorite, Richie Havens. Does anyone know if it is Billy Perry playing the guitar in the background with Richie?

  • Man... this is a beautiful song. He sang it very well. The song in this scene was recorded on March 23, 1976 during Season #7 (Episode #877). For those of you that don't know... he was born on January 21, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY. He was 35 at the time when he sang this song on Sesame Street.

  • "It's you who taught me how to see...you make me see things through your eyes...

Wonder child...wonder child...it's no wonder why I love you so..."

So profound, you could miss it in a flash. . . .

  • A very beatiful song. I saw this first on an old sccool sesame street video, and it captivated me. The lyrics are very true, and Richie Havens sings the song with great feeling. The chords are mesmerizing, and give me the chills. There is something very sad and reflective in this wonderful song.

  • This really made my day. Thank you so much!

  • I love that blazer he is wearing!

  • Helen Reddy did a version of Wonder Child for Sesame Street as well. Helen's version is on her CD.
