I don't generally get involved in who's better than who, etc, but I have never seen such an electrically charged (maybe drugs too) as Alvin Lee and boys in "going Home" at Woodstock. There performance was like an orgasm for the eyes!
Saw Cream at the old Grande Ballroom in Detroit and TYA at Ford Auditorium a couple of years later. Different blues bands, but both the best there ever was at what they did.
@Lnanopiquetero I agree, the Cream's Live at the Fillmore version on Wheels of Fire is one of the finest pieces of rock fusion to come out of that era. It still sounds great today.
Oh man, this version is the best so far! Awsome, bass. I love this song in any version (along with the Train Kept-A-Rollin' songs), but let em tell ya: after 40 yrs of music loving - this song will be on my daily program to play! Thanx
This is classic ! I've had a few evenings where everything looked like this . One of my all-time favorite blues songs , I must have 20 or so versions of it , it just never gets old .
Try THE original version...Willie Dixon wrote it and played acoustic bass, also a tune by him called "Bassology" BTW saw AL at the wharehouse 71 or so..Edgar Winter and the White Trash opened for him..Not a bad evening
@l3eEkeR Rofl ofcourse there are no dislikes cause people who dislike this cind of music don't even know it exists hehe , a fellow Ten Years After Fan
@Jezmanrulz I bought some orange barrell from some guy "near' the door. Was it you, not gonna bust ya, I ate it. weeeeeeee what a fucking night, I was 14!
@Jezmanrulz guess it wouldn't be "pc" to "glorify" the memories of the different "trips" we have taken, sunshine, owsly, purple haze...oh how I do long for the old days......every day almost for years, worked as a phone operator, no one knew, I had an excellent work record! What a trip, oh, and I can still spell small words.....ha ha ha ha L - U - C - Y I must stop this, I am too old for this behavior.
I love all Alvin's live performances of Spoonful. So sexy.
