Tease small pieces at a time. Spray the hair spray on the section of hair before and after you tease it.

Invest in a GOOD hairspray.

And if your hair is really heavy buy some hair wax and put it at the roots.. It really does the trick!

But oh well. Just a tip if you're still interested. I tease my hair EVERY day pretty much.

And recently got a complement on it which surprised me. I used to tease it back in the day and it was mostly FAIL.

I find a few good tricks are 1 get a decent comb for teasing. I have a cheap o one from Wal Mart but it works really well.

2 I've discovered the joys of hair paste.

I originally started using Wella hair paste simply because I had pink hair at the time and wanted to get as much color protection as I could. But I've been using it since. Even though I no longer have pink hair. USE PASTE!

I swear it's like key for back combing. It holds the back combed hair all day.

Then I like to straighten out the ends so it has volume/can also look messy at the roots but groomed at the bottom. Looks more polished.

what you want to do is hold small sections of your hair up at a time only tiny bit tease it at the roots so its stands up strait and spray it, do this all around your head and then when you have all them up brush them backwards and just do random bits of teasing in it.

Put gel in ur layers, blow dry upside dowwn,

straighten upside down, LOTS of hairspray, LOTS of teasing, make it look messy basically.

Also volumizing shampoo/condtioner.

get a comb, brush TOWARDS the roots, everytime you do that, USE HAIRSPRAY. also, hair wax is good too. so yeah.
