@lowgenius There was no threat until the U.S. government created one. I find this mentality remarckably dangerous. That we can bomb whomever we want and not excpect them to get angry or want to retaliate. Iraq, Afghanistan, and Sudan was no threat to our national security and they still aren't.
@lowgenius <--- Never seen a more appropriate nickname. Attack on Al Quaeda my ass! What were they trying to do, attach tiny nukes to Aspirins? Clinton committed mass murder to take the press off himself and Monica Lewinsky. He's a war criminal, just like the ones before and after him.
Far from a prediction of 911 and the bombing of Iraq had nothing to do with 911. I like Ron Paul but not good for the country now. I agree with much of what Ron says here.
The big question is why Clinton did this. I first jumped to the conclusion of "Wag the Dog" to get attention off the impeachment. Now I am thinking he had passed on his chance to "cash in" with Defense contracting and weapons manufacturers (as all presidents have done for quite a while now) and saw it as his last chance to do so (if impeachment went through).
I'm sure most of you already made this connection too.

1. Ron Paul is a sham. He was owned several times by Tim Russert for preaching about honest and better government while taking illicit funds for his own state. This guy is an idiot.
2. Clinton contained the "threat" of Iraq to the US. He kept it controlled, and yes, we accidentally bombed a hospital. That's a fact. However that mistake is still better than a full, idiotic invasion of a nation we have to spend blood and money to rebuild while our own country goes to shit.
I am sorry, man, but Ron Paul has very few things in common with Chomsky. Ron Paul is a free-market capitalist that supports wage-slavery. Noam Chomsky is an anarchist that believes in worker's control on the means of production with no government.
Chomsky thinks we should decentralize power and give it to the people. Ron Paul thinks we should let the power in the hands an even greater threat than the government: corporations.
i mean in terms of foreign policy. also, wage slavery is an illusion. its called economic mobility. btw, which corporation was it that perpetrated the holocaust? the gulags? perhaps the millions that die at the hands of a tyrannical chinese government? give it to "the people?" who manages the means of production? no hierarchy whatsoever? i'm not defending the mega corporations, but let's remain grounded in reality. i think you need to reevaluate your understanding of ron paul.
Paul's foreign policy is economic oriented... towards us. Chomsky's foreign policy is very simple: help the people in all countries achieve real democratic status through non-coercive means. both may converge at some points but definitely with a different focus.
if you have a tyrannical government (any) you don't really have the people governing, do you? there is such an obvious contradiction between 'people's control over the means of production' and the so-called communists governments.
have you even heard Paul's foreign policy? NON-INTERVENTIONISM and free trade. help how? hand outs until america has nothing left just like the countries it's "helping." OBVIOUSLY the "people" don't govern. that's because this is an impossibility, some need to govern, some need to produce, some need to be entrepreneurs. when you empower the state (under the guise of "the people") to do all of these things, you get tyranny.
when I said that Paul's policy is economic oriented I meant exactly what you are saying: it is bad for OUR economy. he is contributing to the problem by directing the focus of the damage of war from the real suffering (those we attack and kill) to a less important one (our economic damage). Chomsky and Paul are both against interventionism for different reasons: chomsky because of the human and moral loss; Paul because of the economic damage it may cause. which do you think is more important?
(part 2) neither Chomsky nor I support any type of government. you obviously do not understand what anarchy mean.... you don't even seem to know that Chomsky is an anarchist, nor a communist.
when we talk about the people in control we obviously do not mean any type of Government that has ANY more power than any of the workers. you don't have a tyranny from anyone simply because power is completely decentralized.
Do me a favor, next time you go to wal mart or drive on the street, look at "the people" you think are competent enough to collectively govern society. equality is a joke, its not real, its a man made construct just like God and santa claus. we need a system that fosters evolution and not mob rule. but i'm willing to consider your argument if you can name one historical example in history of this egalitarian socialist utopia that you profess.
that the public is too stupid to govern their own lives is a very common argument against anarchism. I seriously recommend you read some of the FAQ that page addresses.
Spain? thats your "sustained example?" that just goes to prove my point, as Franco immediately squelched the movement. you see i understand exactly what you and chomsky advocate (anarcho-socialism), i just find it naive and contrary to human nature, for inevitably there will be power and hierarchy. both anarchy and equality are illusory and impossible.
how long would suppose that system would have lasted? Think back to jamestown when in 1607, William Bradford attempted a communist model for the village. it worked at first but then after a while, without the profit motive, people grew idle and the town grew poor, until they had to privatize the previously collectively owned land (and die eventually anyway). look, i think people SHOULD share, but also i think private property is a good thing and should be handled economically.
I need more information about it. can you please provide me with some reliable information on how such system worked? I would also like to see some support to your statement that that people "grew idle and the town grew poor" because of the lack of profit motive, if you don't mind.
if everybody attempts to further his own lot, eventually all of society is lifted with a higher living standard, a dynamic unique to the free market. collectivism doesn't have this feature unless productivity is coerced.
I don't have much time to answer all these questions now because of school but these points are very well addressed in the website I provided. please care to read it carefully.
you obviously did not bother to read much, did you? did Franco only dominate anarchist circles? that a society or community is vulnerable to attacks by someone with more military power is a problem for every type of society, not just anarchist.
and there will always be, inevitably, power but in anarchy it is not centralized but on all the people. equality is obviously not illusory since the Spaniards did it and very well.
and i don;t think people are too stupid to govern their own lives, in fact i am somewhat of a libertarian. i just don't think that democratic socialism (mob rule) is moral nor effective. i believe the marketplace will sort those things out. if you truly believe in freedom then people must be free to trade as they please (anarcho-capitalism).
people should be able to trade as they please, I agree.... and so as every anarchist agrees, too. what we do not agree with is the system of exploitation and coercion that capitalism and a hierarchical system promotes by the master receiving a great part of the product of your labor. why should we have a system when few get most of the pie that we, the workers, produce?
please care to read the website I provided. it answers many of the questions you are posting here.
you also say that worker's control is not effective. why is the Government, then, effective according to you? why are markets effective according to you? are there not people that are as human as you and I taking the decisions? are those persons made of a special substance that makes THEM able to organize among themselves but US unable to do so?
this system is not a matter of plebiscite, but rather the an infinitely complex nexus of free transactions. i believe this approach is patently more realistic, especially on the scale of giant economies. btw, i don't mean to be antagonistic, and i do respect your opinion.
that the market is very complex is one of many reasons why we should be in favor of worker's control. if you have a thousand problems, should only one or ten people decide what should be done? don't you think it makes more sense to let a thousand heads think about the thousand problems and democratically choosing instead of a few imposing their authority on the majority that produce the goods? is it correct to impose your views on other adults because you know better what they need (supposedly)?
I know this is going to sound very Un-American, but Osama Bin Laden has a point. We've been bombing Iraq and the middle east for decades, but we never hear of anything about it. But than when Bin laden attacks us, all reason goes out the window and the enemy is seen as just pure evil. Why don't we stop for a few seconds and actually try to understand why they attacked us on 9/11, because if you still believe that they attacked because we're rich americans, than you're quite mistaken.
Don't even say it like it's unamerican. Humility in realizing past mistakes our leaders have made is just about as American as you can get.
We were attacked because we have been accidentally killing civilians in the mideast in our oil wars for the better part of half a century. If China had been bombing us since 1950 you can bet your ass I would hate them.
@fox9ninja are you serious they didn't attack us fool. 911 was inside you think a group of cavemen could bring down steel skyscrapers that were designed to with stand multiple jets crashing into them. Sooooo tell me this! were the towers engineering marvels or engineering disasters? THINK ABOUT IT
@fox9ninja While I agree with you, your argument is a little too persuasive to sympathizing with Bin Laden. While he was correct in saying we have been killing everything we see in the Middle East for the last 20 years, he still isn't innocent for the crime of killing his natives either. I can see his motivation to attack us, but not why he claims to be such a just freedom fighter then kill/impoverish his own people.
@fox9ninja And that right there is why this country is in trouble. When logic and truth are seen as un-American, we are on a very bad and dangerous road.
Remember that two wrongs do not make a right! It is one thing to defend our nation; to LITERALLY defend it. It is all right to strike back as well, but not to the extremes that we have been going to. By the way, can anyone tell me why we are actually still in war with Afghanistan? (So much for liberals' desire for peace.)
what a GREAT comeback! I guess someone's sarcasm detector is broken. If you had a little bit more knowledge of RP then you would get it. I guess the youtube kids are as poorly informed than the rest of the internets (same with the 2 or more that gave me a thumbs down)
I remember that day vividly, Clintin was caught with his penis stains on monica's dress after he told the American ppl that was a lie, lol. So he decided to bomb the shit out of Iraq? Scary? Or justified?
despite of Bush cheating on the election in 2000, he wanted no nation building and avoid preemptive wars and that is why he didn't want to catch Osama Bin Laden. If Osama puts a hold on 911 and see if Bush keeps his word, he may just leave us alone and far less people will die. however, i believe Osama looks at a US prez as any other prez and if he is still alive he will see Obama as no different to all other warmongers who had taken office which is becoming a fact. when will it end?
I think it fucking sucks how much OBL makes sense at the end of this video. OBL is a murderer, fascist, and religious nutjob, but he has a better grasp of history than George W Bush.
Americans in general are ignorant of history. They fail to understand that we have been bombing these countries for decades. They are unwilling to accept that our actions against civilians make 9/11 look tame in comparison. They think terrorists hate us for our freedom.
I don't know about anyone else, but if a foreign country had been bombing the US consistently for my whole life, I'd would resist them. I in no way support terrorists' actions, but is their situation all that different?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
First he did not rpedict 9/11, Clinton did not launch a "bombing campaign" you commie terrorist apologist and idiots. He flinged one harmless cruise missle at a low on the totem pole target to get attention away from the lewinsky and chinagate troubles. The terorrist armed trained and created by the PLO, Iraq, and ultimatley the KGB had bene attacking the world and us for decades....fact is 93 WTC, 95Saudi, 95 OKC, 96 TWA etc. were all terorrist attacks. Clinton allowed them and covered up.
Ironic though...when Clinton tried to kill OBL in 1996, the Republicans screamed it was a "wag the dog" in order to deflect attention from the Lewinsky affair and he stopped trying to get him.
Funny eh?
Not that I don't agree with Ron Paul here. I wish he would have gone along with the attempt to impeach Bush.
If Obama was among the founding fathers with Thomas Jefferson and George Washington while they were contemplating how to protect our freedom with a constitution during the articles of confederation in 1776 when our Country was starting.....he probably would have been laughed out of the room....and probably shot.
While I agree with the outrage over the bombing I wish he hadn't voted to impeach. Its an awfully political thing to vote for something just because its the means to an end.
You have to remember what Ron Paul pretty much is though... a strict constitutionalist. Whether or be Bill Clinton, George Bush, or Ghandi... if someone lies under oath, Ron Paul is going to look at it as an outrage and a direct attack against liberty, simply because if you or I lied under oath, regardless of what the lie is about, we would get into trouble. Why not the president? To lie under oath, jepordizes peoples faith in the letter of the law.
dang i was only 13 and i thought he was impeached for the blowjob O.o .....
So if ALL politicians are full of shit then WHO do we trust? Ron Paul is a republican O.O !! What if he is lieing as bad as obama, and all the others??!! There is no way to trust any of them, The only way would be to completely restore our constitution.
the best way to tell if a politician is honest is to look at their voting record. ron paul's voting on any issue was and is for the people. learn more about him! he'd blow your mind.
omg we did bomb them first, so even IF it WASNT an inside job, it was an act of revenge o.O Doesnt anyone remember this?? woow well i hope Ron Paul isnt lieing when he says he will go by the constitution only, Its too bad how easy it is for politicians to lie through thier teeth to the public.
It seems like the ignorant argument is still being debated here, despite the point of the video not being about whether Clinton should have been impeached for infidelity. The point of the video is to point out that Dr. Paul wanted to air the unconstitutional and illegal actions of Clinton and that is what he should have been impeached for without a doubt. You people arguing about the other thing are helping cover up the important issue. That's the ignorance of America.Infidelity is nothing.
Come on now, you can't ignore the CFR-controlled mainstream media who follow their policies and agendas to include elections. Americans are dumbed down, but there is an obvious force that is a major component of that.I for one, woke up long ago and even wrote in Ron Paul's name for principle, but their are very few people that are not influenced by tv, radio, newspaper, or internet. When people put things out as fact, over and over, many will believe it to be true."Elites" realize & utilize this.
What are you talking about? Ron Paul screamed bloody murder every day in Congress. He voted against the war (one of only 6 Republicans), he wrote on his website against the war. Just because the press wasn't covering him doesn't mean he wasn't speaking out. And yes, he did speak in favor of the impeachment of Bush.
Traitors with no loyalty to country or countrymen fill public office while complicit cowards in the media help to puppeteer the minds of Americans. Thousands have died in a war for Israel while tens of thousands return home injured and disfigured. Who among us has the honor, courage and commitment to stand up?

HereticNix 2 years ago
Paul's foreign policy is economic oriented... towards us. Chomsky's foreign policy is very simple: help the people in all countries achieve real democratic status through non-coercive means. both may converge at some points but definitely with a different focus.
if you have a tyrannical government (any) you don't really have the people governing, do you? there is such an obvious contradiction between 'people's control over the means of production' and the so-called communists governments.
elguanteloko 2 years ago
have you even heard Paul's foreign policy? NON-INTERVENTIONISM and free trade. help how? hand outs until america has nothing left just like the countries it's "helping." OBVIOUSLY the "people" don't govern. that's because this is an impossibility, some need to govern, some need to produce, some need to be entrepreneurs. when you empower the state (under the guise of "the people") to do all of these things, you get tyranny.
HereticNix 2 years ago
when I said that Paul's policy is economic oriented I meant exactly what you are saying: it is bad for OUR economy. he is contributing to the problem by directing the focus of the damage of war from the real suffering (those we attack and kill) to a less important one (our economic damage). Chomsky and Paul are both against interventionism for different reasons: chomsky because of the human and moral loss; Paul because of the economic damage it may cause. which do you think is more important?
elguanteloko 2 years ago
(part 2) neither Chomsky nor I support any type of government. you obviously do not understand what anarchy mean.... you don't even seem to know that Chomsky is an anarchist, nor a communist.
when we talk about the people in control we obviously do not mean any type of Government that has ANY more power than any of the workers. you don't have a tyranny from anyone simply because power is completely decentralized.
elguanteloko 2 years ago
Do me a favor, next time you go to wal mart or drive on the street, look at "the people" you think are competent enough to collectively govern society. equality is a joke, its not real, its a man made construct just like God and santa claus. we need a system that fosters evolution and not mob rule. but i'm willing to consider your argument if you can name one historical example in history of this egalitarian socialist utopia that you profess.
HereticNix 2 years ago
one example? read this:
infoshop (dot) org/page/AnarchistFAQSectionI8
that the public is too stupid to govern their own lives is a very common argument against anarchism. I seriously recommend you read some of the FAQ that page addresses.
elguanteloko 2 years ago
Spain? thats your "sustained example?" that just goes to prove my point, as Franco immediately squelched the movement. you see i understand exactly what you and chomsky advocate (anarcho-socialism), i just find it naive and contrary to human nature, for inevitably there will be power and hierarchy. both anarchy and equality are illusory and impossible.
HereticNix 2 years ago
how long would suppose that system would have lasted? Think back to jamestown when in 1607, William Bradford attempted a communist model for the village. it worked at first but then after a while, without the profit motive, people grew idle and the town grew poor, until they had to privatize the previously collectively owned land (and die eventually anyway). look, i think people SHOULD share, but also i think private property is a good thing and should be handled economically.
HereticNix 2 years ago
I need more information about it. can you please provide me with some reliable information on how such system worked? I would also like to see some support to your statement that that people "grew idle and the town grew poor" because of the lack of profit motive, if you don't mind.
elguanteloko 2 years ago
if everybody attempts to further his own lot, eventually all of society is lifted with a higher living standard, a dynamic unique to the free market. collectivism doesn't have this feature unless productivity is coerced.
HereticNix 2 years ago
I don't have much time to answer all these questions now because of school but these points are very well addressed in the website I provided. please care to read it carefully.
elguanteloko 2 years ago
you obviously did not bother to read much, did you? did Franco only dominate anarchist circles? that a society or community is vulnerable to attacks by someone with more military power is a problem for every type of society, not just anarchist.
and there will always be, inevitably, power but in anarchy it is not centralized but on all the people. equality is obviously not illusory since the Spaniards did it and very well.
elguanteloko 2 years ago
and i don;t think people are too stupid to govern their own lives, in fact i am somewhat of a libertarian. i just don't think that democratic socialism (mob rule) is moral nor effective. i believe the marketplace will sort those things out. if you truly believe in freedom then people must be free to trade as they please (anarcho-capitalism).
HereticNix 2 years ago
people should be able to trade as they please, I agree.... and so as every anarchist agrees, too. what we do not agree with is the system of exploitation and coercion that capitalism and a hierarchical system promotes by the master receiving a great part of the product of your labor. why should we have a system when few get most of the pie that we, the workers, produce?
please care to read the website I provided. it answers many of the questions you are posting here.
elguanteloko 2 years ago
you also say that worker's control is not effective. why is the Government, then, effective according to you? why are markets effective according to you? are there not people that are as human as you and I taking the decisions? are those persons made of a special substance that makes THEM able to organize among themselves but US unable to do so?
elguanteloko 2 years ago
this system is not a matter of plebiscite, but rather the an infinitely complex nexus of free transactions. i believe this approach is patently more realistic, especially on the scale of giant economies. btw, i don't mean to be antagonistic, and i do respect your opinion.
HereticNix 2 years ago
that the market is very complex is one of many reasons why we should be in favor of worker's control. if you have a thousand problems, should only one or ten people decide what should be done? don't you think it makes more sense to let a thousand heads think about the thousand problems and democratically choosing instead of a few imposing their authority on the majority that produce the goods? is it correct to impose your views on other adults because you know better what they need (supposedly)?

I know this is going to sound very Un-American, but Osama Bin Laden has a point. We've been bombing Iraq and the middle east for decades, but we never hear of anything about it. But than when Bin laden attacks us, all reason goes out the window and the enemy is seen as just pure evil. Why don't we stop for a few seconds and actually try to understand why they attacked us on 9/11, because if you still believe that they attacked because we're rich americans, than you're quite mistaken.
fox9ninja 2 years ago 100
Don't even say it like it's unamerican. Humility in realizing past mistakes our leaders have made is just about as American as you can get.
We were attacked because we have been accidentally killing civilians in the mideast in our oil wars for the better part of half a century. If China had been bombing us since 1950 you can bet your ass I would hate them.

@fox9ninja While I agree with you, your argument is a little too persuasive to sympathizing with Bin Laden. While he was correct in saying we have been killing everything we see in the Middle East for the last 20 years, he still isn't innocent for the crime of killing his natives either. I can see his motivation to attack us, but not why he claims to be such a just freedom fighter then kill/impoverish his own people.

despite of Bush cheating on the election in 2000, he wanted no nation building and avoid preemptive wars and that is why he didn't want to catch Osama Bin Laden.

Americans in general are ignorant of history. They fail to understand that we have been bombing these countries for decades. They are unwilling to accept that our actions against civilians make 9/11 look tame in comparison. They think terrorists hate us for our freedom.
I don't know about anyone else, but if a foreign country had been bombing the US consistently for my whole life, I'd would resist them. I in no way support terrorists' actions, but is their situation all that different?

First he did not rpedict 9/11, Clinton did not launch a "bombing campaign" you commie terrorist apologist and idiots. He flinged one harmless cruise missle at a low on the totem pole target to get attention away from the lewinsky and chinagate troubles. The terorrist armed trained and created by the PLO, Iraq, and ultimatley the KGB had bene attacking the world and us for decades....fact is 93 WTC, 95Saudi, 95 OKC, 96 TWA etc. were all terorrist attacks. Clinton allowed them and covered up.

While I agree with the outrage over the bombing I wish he hadn't voted to impeach. Its an awfully political thing to vote for something just because its the means to an end.
thomasw78 2 years ago
You have to remember what Ron Paul pretty much is though... a strict constitutionalist. Whether or be Bill Clinton, George Bush, or Ghandi... if someone lies under oath, Ron Paul is going to look at it as an outrage and a direct attack against liberty, simply because if you or I lied under oath, regardless of what the lie is about, we would get into trouble. Why not the president? To lie under oath, jepordizes peoples faith in the letter of the law.
