  • hi, i'm from germany and i have to say that i'm really impressed of your work. i'm glad to see people dealing with the WW2 theme in an other way, this shows real interest in the past and not just the "glory" of the allies.

    go on like this!

  • As an swedish native i work with germans almost everyday.

I can see the true german in this, the acting and langwitch is a bit ackward but rather good.

    Keep the work up!

  • Haha, deutsche generäle mit amerikanischem akzent. Göttlich :)

  • hehe,

preußischer Akzent hört sich anders an. Die waren wohl IMs von der CIA. Und die Wehrmacht hat nichts gemerkt. Deswegen haben wir den Krieg verloren. Jetzt verstehe ich alles

  • ...Seriosly, whats the point about all this. I mean its kinda cool cause the Uniforms are really wellmade...except of some details. Do you really meet and play Nazis?

  • ah its you why the gasoline in europe is so expensive... good old german tanks are thirsty. Tiger II or better known as Königstiger needs up to 780 liter per 100km or 1256 liter per 100 miles. Okay you couldn't buy the last one that drives, but serious... in Germany only people with an IQ lower than 80 are fans of the Waffen-SS and there are thousand laws. No Swastika, there is even an extensive law about which awards are allowed to be weared, you could get arrested wearing Knights Cross 1939.

  • Other than the house and the camera work, this video is great. Their German is pretty good, despite just a little stumble here and there. Of course, they're not speaking as fast as native German speakers would. The uniforms are terrific for both the Generals and the extras. The rifle salute given by the guards is spot on. Good job!

  • That house is very American looking, looks like my house..lol Build some Bunkers!!! lol Good Job with the uniforms. I enjoyed it

  • kommandüren hahahahha

was soll das sein ? etwa comedy meets WWII

  • I SPEAK GERMAN AND WOULD MIND APPEARING IN ONE OF YOUR FILMS,I AM AMERICAN CITIZEN,BUT MY GRANDFATHER WAS WAFFEN SS OFFICER.I PLAN ON BEING IN THE SF IN A FEW MONTHS

  • @prostockgear sorry for my terrible typing...........i meant i wouldnt mind and i plan on being in the SF area in 3-4 months.....please send me contact info if interested

  • @prostockgear

My personal contact for email is

    hansbeerbaum@gmail.com

Hope to see you here in 3-4 months. One way or another, we can get you on film if you look the part.

    Hans

  • @prostockgear

We will be filming in Spring of 2012. However, our films are now in English, not native language.

Please let us know when you're here.

    HB

  • @HansB1 ill do that is ther a # i can call or?either way i would enjoy being part of any film you have

  • @prostockgear

I have never heard such labored German.

  • This is a parody. We're not far frrom a Monty Python sketch.

  • This shows that one should never let people who are not actors play roles.

  • @jujufactory

    Yeah, everyone complains.

    HB

  • hahaha was für spasten :DDD

  • alter ist das schlecht geschauspielert...

  • A good effort...though

  • What is this? One of the guys does not sound that bad...

  • dont forget there are over 50 million German Americans, but only around 1-2million speak German

  • The "map room" is a dining area with two small maps laying on a table

  • sehr sehr gut gemacht

  • 0:28 woow if they had to do that all day haha

  • I´m German, and i have to say : you did a pretty good job. I`ve seen some professionnal war movies in which the actors accent sounded worse. Don`t listen to all those guys mocking about the accent.

  • Now I see why we german lost the war XD

  • :D ist funny

  • Jeah As some ppl rekognozed before ,those arent Even germans ! Only the One with the Glasses is One ! Never let Americans Play germans ! BTW: im German Aswell !

  • What I learned from this is - NEVER let Americans plays Germans! :LO)

  • @GlenRoSSe69

Please send us some Germans. There are no German actors in the San Francisco area. We looked everywhere. Or, if you're an actor, come over here for free and appear in our film. We will give you a starring role. No long hair allowed !!

    HB

  • @HansB1 - I can say nothing about this Hans, as my blute is Prussian; but not of mouth... Eng only please! LOL Best of luck my friend!!

  • @HansB1 oh actually some of you have quite good pronounciation dude

  • @HansB1 well, if i lived in the US, i'd really like to play with you

and for americans, you speak a rather good german, especially the generaloberst^^

  • Good grief! Who'd they use as actors? Only one looks Germanic!

  • @lodengreeneyes

They're Americans. Only the guy with the glasses who leads them to the map room is a German. Of course these guys are amateurs but those Americans do a very good performance.

    Well done, from Germany!

  • they really speak a very good german, but as a german i can hear directly that they are americans.but respect

  • Yeah they do have an clear American accent, but their German is excelent !

however these actors are to much actors iso the figure they have to play.

it seems that the audio tape now and than stops so they can think what to say next.

what movie is this anyhow ?

like to see the whole movie

  • what movie is this from

  • stupid american actors with shit accent -.-

  • @nymerie At least they tried, you cunt.

  • @nymerie LOL yet she still watches it...

  • Why do americans respect and love german people and german society? Not because they're nazi. The reason is very simple. Most of white americans are of german origin (about 40% standing before english ethnic group). German-americans are the first ethnic white group in United States. Germans brought many good things in american society. Among these the love for war and for warfare.

  • First off, soldiers usually didn't man their equipment unless they were engaged in battle. They usually didn't wear their helmets for the same reason, although sentry duty usually required them. Not every German general had the knights cross. The briefing rooms were usually filled with maps, and it would improve the scene considerably if military map symbols displayed proper friendly and enemy dispositions. Accents notwithstanding, a fairly decent job overall.

  • omg... why don't they take german actors without english dialect

for a german, this szcene is terrible ^^

  • i think it's cool how you can see a country's culture most by t.v shows like this, in Korea it's all about the old dynasty times, Japan it's about samuri, america it's about...junk... and Germany is ww2 ! :P

  • The one briefing the men (i am german myself) speaks the best german, there was only one mistake (when he mentioned the tank brigades and infantry divisions).

But i think it is pretty hard to learn german, the grammatical aspects are totally different, and most strangers have a hard time learning to say "ö, ü, ä and ch".

  • ha ha german officers with english dialect

    "ich lach mich tot"xD

  • @gSpore56

Vor allen dingen sehr devote sprache.

  • @gSpore56

    running gag

    hahahaha

  • Captured from the Soviets. That happened all the time. Every army loves to capture what the enemy is eating (or drinking).

    HB

  • @HansB1 Not asain MRE's.. they have like fish jerky, I love our MRE's though. I buy them now and then just to eat at home. lol

  • My only question.

How do you have freshly stole american coffee while your on the eastern front?

  • @TheKingoftheaces UPS ground shipping

  • Bad actors unfortunately - it seems like a school play...

  • As a German WW 2 reenactor I would like to say this was well done for an independent production. Keep up the good work and let us see more.

  • DIE TO NAZIS!!!!

  • The Colonel General (GeneralOberst) is wearing a Major General's shoulder patch. and they are not Germans.

  • Ein sehr gutes Video welches auf jeden Fall respekt verdient - Greetings from Munich

  • I only speak English and I can tell those accents are awful lol, but then again, I can spot a German accent a mile away. You Germans have really think english accents

  • haha wie lustig.. greets from DEUTSCHLAND

  • HB good work... can't wait to see the final product.. please tell us where we can view it.

  • @CE750

When its ready, there will be an announcement. What we're working on this summer is a combination of a new war film plus a very sexy crime thriller set in 2011.

    HB

  • God damn these guys were giants.

  • good german, the english accent sounds funny, even kind of gay xD but of course thats not your fault^^

  • it is really bad that some americans acting germans ... the acent is absolutly bullshit !

  • @ThaDonXane

What is even worse is Germans who write in English when they can't capitalize, punctuate, spell or express their thoughts properly. We can only hope that their German is better. Write in your native language--only!

    HB

  • @hansbeerbaum, i dont care how i spell or capitalize in the internet .... AND NO ! their german isn´t better XD

  • title of the movie? please

  • some of the belts are missing holsters

  • Hi,

good work! I think it is incredibly difficult speaking German in an excellent accent unless you either are German or had practiced it for years.

The only I'd like to criticize refers to the uniforms used: I think that the Colonel General actually is wearing a uniform of a Major General, but this certainly does not represent a major problem.

Good luck for the upcoming projects!

  • lol ah nice ^.^ the german is not that bad i have to say. you can only notice the accent when you are a native german speaker like me. it too a while until i noticed but i heared far worse. its just that general mostly are more casual among their own kind because they have to keep up the facade of the respectable general to their people at all times if you know what i mean. and i never saw such a mass of ritterkreuze at one place. too much lametta ^.^ but next to that its really nicely done.

  • Hans.....my comment was in comparison to "Der Untergang," as I really enjoyed that movie and German war history in general.I had not read the background of this video until now.I wish you the best in your endeavors. You are right about budgets though, you can only do so much with what you have at hand.

On a side note,I have never seen a better Hitler than Bruno Ganz .I can also see how the German people were so captivated by this man at that time in history. Take care....

  • After watching "Der Untergang" all other movies pale in comparison. This video seems very amateurist and bland.

  • @hatin11r

You have actually given us a tremendous compliment. Untergang had a multimillion dollar budget and 100% native speaker cast of professional actors. Our project probably spent $100 to feed the actors, and that's all. Being described a very amateurish and bland is quite a compliment. Imagine what we could if we had some money !

    HB

  • I don't know what this is about except some low budget production nonsense that doesn't amount to anything. When I see shit like this I wish I was in it. My part would be to throw a grenade through window then jump in guns blazing until these nazi wannabe swines are all dead. But I would let them enjoy their coffee first.

  • @lew7272

If you look closely, there were guards. You'd never get close enough to do what you wanted to do. In case you got past the guards, the aide is a Knight's Cross winner, which means he'd have the presence of mind to take you out before you accomplished your purpose. Sorry, your fantasy would fail at the hands of skilled military people.

Dreaming is fun, however, so enjoy yourself..

    HB

  • @hansbeerbaum Yes, all too true except you forget one key element. I'm Australian. Knights Cross or whatever don't mean jack to us. Check our military history, you will see we defeated the Germans more than those throwbacks ever defeated us. April 41 Tobruk. Australians are the first country to stop a nazi attack.

Crete May 41 Anzacs slaughter the fallschirmjager in their thousands. Milne Bay Aug 42 Defeat the Japs in New Guinea. El Alamein 42 Aust. 9th Div. makes Rommel look stupid to hitler

  • @lew7272 Ha ha very funny. I don't know how I made it through this tedious piece of drivel. Can understand wanting to liven things up with some action.

  • Damn these dialogs are really funny. I like how you made the conversations. Your German isn't so bad.

  • i can also here that the german is bad and i am from sweden. but i rather here it in bad german then in good english.

  • lol they didnt speak like this.

  • Ye German technology at the time was amazing and ye i agree with HansB1, uniforms were fucking epic, german is favorite language and culture-you can`t talk shit about anything about them because they probably would beat you in that factor compared to your country

  • Yes, all are Americans but not all were born in the US. Any foreign language is difficult to produce as a native unless you're a native. Germans complain about our German, but their their complaints, written in English, are usually written in poor English. We do the best we can.

Our next project will be to produce a TV season on American TV. Both Germans and Soviets will speak English. Sorry, but American audiences to not want to read subtitles for 26 TV episodes.

    HB

  • @HansB1 Well then, you are fucking piece of shit, who disrespects all of the dead veterans who died for our liberties. Grow up and get some sense you fucking child. Churchill would spit on you, trash.

  • @MajBlood

Unfortunately, I have no idea what you're responding to.

    HB

  • @HansB1 but compare our english with ur german. i didnt wirte in english since my a-level 3 years ago, cause i study german-french law. in general u can say that english peple have many problems to learn a new language, like french, spanish and espacially german.

  • @mathiehesse

Foreign language learning is a low priority in American schools and German language is almost non-existent. Few Americans will ever need to speak a foreign language, unlike Europeans who travel freely among different countries and encounter different languages constantly.

    HB

  • @hansbeerbaum thats poor :(, i mean 40% of the americans have german roots, so many big "americans" are german, from pershing, eisenhauer, heinz , rockafella etc. pp :( and they all lost their roots if they won't learn german

  • @HansB1 i agree. for the circumstances this is a very good german. would like to see more and i would be feeling honored if you would like to correspond a little. all the best to you.

  • Are all of them americans? Most have very good german.

And as others here said before: After having learned five languages, German is really one of the hardest I've ever seen.

  • I am from Berlin and i think, this video is well done in case of the fact of the difficult german language. Would like to see more. My deepest respect and greetings to your actors, very well done.

  • captured american coffee, of course...

this movie is pretty arkward to see if you're german.

  • @jeronimo486

When we put it into the final movie, it was shortened by a minute. A lot of the awkward German was removed. Its not possible to get enough German actors who can do the language perfectly. We did our best and continue to true to do our best in our newer film work.

    HB

  • @hansbeerbaum what's that project about, if i may ask?

  • @jeronimo486

Its follows the exploits of a Soviet woman sniper as she shoots and loves her way from Kiev to Berlin. Its sexy, violent and historically grounded--not your regular TV stories.

    HB

  • :D HAHA oh my god it would be sooo great if anyone would compile a textbook for Americans who want to learn German. It should be called "Jawohl Herr General". Maybe this could be the video of Lesson 12 or something.

  • Why would a knight cross holder open a door from a general at the beginning of the scene, wouldn't it be a private's job?

  • @2garfields if he is a staff-officer,its his job.

  • Also ich finds klasse. Deutsch für "Ausländer" is halt schwer. Mir gefällts^^

  • funny dialekt! :)

  • they look very american and have a strong accent, if they would have been sent on a undercover mission back in ww2, they would have been shot immidiately ^ ^ But i can imagine its a difficult language to learn and overall its well done, so thumbs up!

  • @7Starslayer7 People always say "Learn to speak German." That is very, very difficult, and I lived in Germany for ten years! My accent is good, but not good enough. Before traveling to Ukraine, i took two college classes in conversational Russian. When I got there, I could not understand a word.

In our films, we tried to speak in the right language but there is no substitute for actors who grew up in the foreign country and speak native German or Russian.

    HB

  • @HansB1 The accent of the GeneralOberst was actually pretty good. The rest really has to learn the pronunciation of the german letters. The sentences structure is fine for most of the sentences.

  • Der General Oberst spricht perfektes deutsch, wie kommts?

The general oberst, speaks a perfect german? how? is he a real german?

  • @LSMFTbitch

Yes, he is one of the rare native-German speaking actors in our area.

    HB

  • @HansB1 nice too hear that, in germany he could get a lot of trouble with a lo of people. sad thing actually, but i mean we dont have a veterans day either, stupid.

  • is this homemade?

  • @lukakiwi

Yes, our goal is to make a few scenes and then turn the rest of the script into a professionally done movie. We can do only so much without a budget.

    HB

  • @HansB1 thats cool, you have my support. Are you all members pf a large reenacting group?

  • @lukakiwi

Not reenactors, but instead, -- hopeful actors.

    HB

  • Funny, how you handle history. In Germany we only have history books and tv-documentaries.

  • Oh man, ich liebe euch xD

  • What movie was this ? This is terrible woooden acting, almost like a skit

  • What movie was this ?

  • @edko426

This is a movie project called "Frontovichki." When the editing is done, it will be sent to film festivals. The story is about Russian women soldiers.

    HB

  • Pretty neat how the general made that guy in the lobby just dissappear.

  • they're all look pretty cool until the bombs start falling in theirs asses

  • Gutes Video.

Aber warum spielen erwachsene, amerikanische Männer, deutsche Wehrmacht-Offiziere nach??? Wieso? :o)

  • @Sqoozy

Weil diese für viele Vorbilder sind.

  • the guy in 2:40 is german the others americans...

  • Ok you hear that they arent germans xD

  • ... guys, the Yanks started the war by co-operating in the insistence that Germany pay too high a demand in reparations and also by importing males of the negro race into the Rheinland and also into Berlin. Hence it could be argued that the United States seeded Nazism´s racial purity ideology.

  • LoL this sounds very american, but i can´t understand why some americans are glorifying the third Reich, because the germans don´t do glorifying that! The Americans were fight aganst them and now 70 years later their best hobbies are the reminding of my countrys worst part of history???

What is in 70 years? Are they walking in a terrorist outfit ?? LOOOOOOOOL

  • You're overlooking the most important thing,-- that the Germans had the coolest looking uniforms. Nobody cares about the ideology. :-)

    HB

  • @HansB1 they were designed by Hugo Boss you know :)

  • @HansB1

agree best looking uniform and equipment, but disagree with you on ideology , i do care deeply

  • @HansB1 lol here here...

  • @HansB1 lol especially the black ones with the red armbands.....

  • @HansB1 well, i as a german have a little other opinion to the point with the ideology. BECAUSE the uniform, the tanks, the soldier songs, the whole militrary stuff is so cool - it is, actually - you never ever should forget about the ideology and what happens. we have a simple rule in germany: never talk about ww2 without talking about the holocaust. because, when you look on it properly, there is holocaust in every action of the wehrmacht and nazi-germany in whole. you really should care, pal.

  • @jeronimo486 then you also as a German should know the Wehrmacht was nothing more than soldiers performing their duty for the elected government of Germany at that time... any problems with the ideology lays squarely on the Nazi party, and the civilian population which backed it... as well as factions of the SS. Blaming the Wehrmacht for WWII is like blaming the US Army for Iraq... when it was a Republican president that sent them in.

  • @CE750 it's not that easy, pal... it's not that easy. there were war crimes, commited by the wehrmacht. and many german people in '33 hoped the reichswehr (which was renamed in wehrmacht a couple of years later) would stop the nazis. they could have, but they didn't, so the german army is in fact heavily involved in the nazi crimes. like the majority of the german civilian, actually.

  • @jeronimo486 well, the Heer especially are no more responsible for the war crimes than the general public in that case. As a matter of fact, the majority of the senior officer corps were mostly royalists and Prussians that had no time for National Socialism and Hitler... but AGAIN, they carried out their duty to the country and for the defense of the German people... were it not for the efforts of the Heer in the final days of that war, the German people would have perished under the Soviets.

  • @CE750 well actually, i'm the thankful like i can't say that i was born and raised in western germany. but that thank belongs to the brave soldiers of the western allies.

many officers in the wehrmacht were peers, old fashioned nationalists and not into the nazi-ideology. but many were into it. and all of them did help, willing or not, keeping the nazi rulement stable so hitler could declare war on the western allies and the sowjet union.

  • @HansB1 The uniforms have everything to do with Elitist Aristocratic Ideology

  • @JKOvertake I would say it all depends of the point of view my friend. The allied killed more innocent people than the Germans did, so don't look on Germany with such hate.

  • fun i am waiting for your DVD or blueray

  • Good effort, but the actors' language & speech melody is pretty stilted & their accent sounds distinctively American.

  • Comment removed

  • Thank you, but we are not "renewing the essence of the Third Reich." We have no interest in glorifying a brutal and repressive political philosophy. Our intent is to create interesting war movies from an interesting time in history.

    HB

  • Good work. Are all this scenes made in the USA?

And why can you speck german so good?^^

  • The scene was shot in California.

The General-oberst spent most of his life in Germany. His adjutant lived in Germany until he was 12 and retains much of his accent. I lived in Germany for ten years while I was a teenager and attended several German schools. The fourth (tallest) general spent spent several military tours in Germany as a US Army NCO.

    HB

  • The "oberst Leutnant" is really a german right?

  • Yes, the General Oberst is a native speaker.

    HB

  • Hahaha Americans are funny folks got to admit

  • We are always looking for ways to do this better. Please don't TELL us how to do it better, but SET AN EXAMPLE by doing this yourself and putting it on You Tube. We are waiting for your example.

    HB

  • Grossartig!!! 5*****

  • Very good Video, nice Job!

  • So the Russian commanders were barbaric rapists, and the Germans were serious business? Seems kinda bias.

  • This was not made up but came out of research in diaries, battle accounts and other original Russian sources. Vasily Grossman describes the "field wife" as the great sin of the communist system. I would argue that there are many more, but he didn't know of them at the time. His comments were written in 1942.

    HB

  • I don't doubt such things occurred. Anything we can fathom has happened during that war.

But the Soviet sketch had the rape thing, and then you made the Germans humorous and pleasant. Why not have them talk about the time they rounded up the families of some village, made them strip in front of a pit, and shot them all? Do you want diaries and other original German sources for that? Germans were good at recording things.

And dont blame it solely on the SS. Wehrmacht executed plenty of civs.

  • Don't worry, I have PLENTY of information about German Army (Heer) complicity in atrocities. However, EVERY WWII film hits on that. Rest assured --in my next film clip, currently being edited, a Heer officer orders a private to shoot two Russian prisoners.

    HB

  • 5*****

  • Yeah you speak decent german.....but the Oberst is a real german isn´t he? He speaks very well german and without any misstake. But your german is overall very good. Go on ;)

    Now in german:

Weiter so ;)

  • nice german ;) one of them is a real german. isn't he ?

    great work! Keep it up!

  • hahaha nice german voices. ^^

  • I enjoyed the scene and will definitely check out the rest.

    -Richard-

  • Good german Voice ; )

I'm come from germany and understand all of this! =)

  • I can't wait to see when the project is fully finished and compiled, you all do such great work.

  • We are filming scenes for a trailer. Once they are done we'll see if we can get funding to film the two hour script.

Until then, there are another four segments coming.

    HB

  • Ooof, how much would it actually cost to put the movie into it's entire production? It would be truly something amazing to behold the Movie in all of it's glory.

  • I've told people that I could do a fantastic job for $500,000. However, others have said that Hollywood won't even return a phone call for that amount. So, I'll ask for $40 million and see what happens. First, I have to create a budget and a business plan, and the script is evolving as the trailer is filmed (and getting better). Keep your fingers crossed.

    HB

  • I would give an arm and a leg to become a part of something as amazing as this, but i'm trying to drop weight first as to not portray a 'Heavy' German soldier by the time I get my Impression together.

  • Where do you live?

It sounds like you're facing the same problems all Americans do (including me). The secret is to eat less and move around more. Not necessarily exercise, but simply move around more. Its tough.

    HB

  • Truth be told? I live in Cental Florida. I'm soon to be twenty years old (despite the age stated in my profile here) and have for the longest time wished to become involved in re-enactments, especially ever since watching your videos you take from the different events, and have been trying to at least find leads in where to find good pieces of kit for a Deutsche Soldat so i can eventually have a usable Impression.
