The comments on Kurtofsky are actually very well-written. I completely ship Klaine, but I am NOT against Karofsky's redemption at all. Why should Karofsky have to be dating Kurt just so he could be "reformed"? Supporting Karofsky's redemption and Kurtofsky are not the same thing at all. But than you, you guys have actually helped me understand why people do ship Kurtofsky.
OHMYGOSH YOU ARE MY NEW BEST FRIEND! Everyone at my school who watches glee hates me because I like Kurtofsky. They think I hate Kurt, but I DON'T! I just care about other characters besides him! Also, not only are people who want Karofsky to commit suicide being biased, they are also sending out a message to gay kids who are in Dave's position that they are bad and that they lost their chance, that they can't redeem themselves and need to kill themselves to make others happy.
I agree with you 100%! Out of nowhere, you get this twist that almost NONE of the fans saw coming, and there's just this really deep story line that can be expanded on. Kurt can help Kurofsky cope with his difficulties and that can develop into something more. Instead, Kurt just goes off to happy land and meets his knight in shining armor and he lives happily ever after. That's lame writers. LAME!!!

I sort of agree. But at the same time, I liked that episode because, even though they are making slow development with Karofsky (as they do with many of the characters; Rachel learns the same lesson every week), there was a development when Karofsky showed a gentler side of his personality; apologising to Kurt and even when he decided not to come out, he didn't push Kurt away or treat him like crap, so I hope it's starting something bigger for next season with Dave.
@LeaxoftheUnderworld but can't Kurt still help Karofsky through his dilemma WITHOUT rushing into a relationship with him? Why should Karofsky's development be tied to a romantic relationship with anyone? Self-acceptance goes a lot deeper than finding a boyfriend - it means loving yourself even when Mr.Right isn't around. I'm not saying Kurt and Dave should never happen - if it does, it does. But just as long as one realizes that redemption and romance aren't interchangeable. Just saying.
i cannot help getting so mad every time Fox News start rioting about Ryan Murphy's "gay agenda". It is-like you said, a story that matters, and that is incredibly relevant to some tragic things that happened this year. If they'r afraid it will cause more people to be sympathetic and understanding of homosexuals, than that reveals how completely bigoted those far right "newscasters" really are. I agree with every aspect of your argument. One part of it which I latched onto though (because it is something which I like discussing) is the depiction of homosexual people in the media. It feels like, while I like Kurt and while characters like him and Jack MacFarland may be found in real life probably, it feels recently that a set of people who aren't like that, who opt to be a bit more stereotypically their gender while still being with the partner of their choice, aren't included (contin.)

While an issue I'd worry about if Kurt and Karofsky got together is if they kill Karofsky off for some reason. Because they do that an awful lot with gay characters for some reason. And I know that the Torchwood and Buffy examples are a bit tenuous because they aren't like 'Brokeback Mountain' or 'Death Trap' or 'Children's Hour' (contin.)

I am one of those people who usually like to pair their favorite character with other characters a lot. My favorite pairings before season 2 was actually Puck/Kurt. Then I changed when Never Been Kiss came out to both Blaine and Dave. So I am stuck between those two but I don't mind if either one gets pick but since the few episodes that has been out concerning Blaine, I have been wanting the Kurtofsky/Redemption story line so bad!

Dave Karofsky is one of the best characters in Glee, and I like everything about him and I often quarrel with people on forums about his double nature. I like Max, I like Dave. He is the second reason why I watch Glee. The first is Kurt :D

Larry from Buffy was the first place my mind went when Dave kissed Kurt, while the writers from Buffy played the story for laughs showing no realistic repercussions whatsoever and having it be so great that even Larry's gran set him up on dates. I think Glee has a real chance to make point about homosexuality bullying and sense of self awareness. Dave being a bully to Kurt because he sees something in him self strikes a chord with me and my time at High School.
Your argument is spot on! Most of the glee members are pretty much cruel to each other, or selfish at the least, so why all the hate for Karofsky? People seem to excuse Puck, Santana, and Rachel's bullying because it was presented in a humorous way.
You make a good point that lots of the MAIN characters are horrible people who are still accepted as good people deserving of relationships even with people who they've hurt. And you're totally right about the lack of "dude" gay people on TV. This is a really awesome video. You made tons of good points.
Where's the picture of Max with a beard?? I think Max Adler is super hot, plus he seems like the sweetest guy too.. Im so happy he's getting an episode in April/May that's focused on him!!
They really need to show more of Dave now, because I think this just turned into a major arc. I am a Kurtofsky shipper, but that has nothing to do with the fact that I now want to see and know more of Dave. Seeing his character develop would be great. Not only for the series, but perhaps also for people in real life who are in his situation.

Dave NEEDS to be developed/needs redemption, after all the stuff going on with gay teens in the US, (I'm british) this is one storyline that can really touch people, gay or straight and I hope the writers treat it as such.

Okay....You are totaly right. Karofsky's stroyline is one to be admired and to pay atention to. I beleive that They will develope Karofsky and I know for a fact that Kurt will come back to McKinli high. He'll date Blain for a while but I think it won't work out. (Kurt and Blain are praticaly clones) But I have herd that they will put Kurt and Dave together after much struggle. But one of the bigest things Ive heared is that kurt will get Kurt by Azimio. Its gona be dramatic. But I totaly agree .
I've always liked Glee, in a detached sort of way. Why? Because I like the music, some of the characters appeal to me (in fact, Kurt and Sue have always kind of rocked my socks), but the storylines felt to me somewhat lacking in reality. Which was fine, since Glee's always been ridiculous.
Now, however, I'm a bit more invested.

Thank you! I support Kurtofsky for the exact same reason: the real potential their story could have. Klaine is undeniably aesthetically pleasing, but the fact of the matter is that the relationship doesn't bring anything else to the table dramatically. Neither one challenges the other in any substantial way to reevaluate their preconceptions or to grow outside their comfort zone. They make awesome friends, but anything more than an experiment at a relationship would be a waste of material.
Melina is amazing! Now I don't promote abusive relationship or any of that; I want Kurt to be happy. I hope that Dave grows into a better person and works to earn Kurts trust/respect. I love Blaine, the boy can sing, but there is no character growth and no plot between them. I think that Blaine will be the good friend to Kurt. Dave represents all the closeted jocks in American society. His character is groundbreaking and I'm looking forward to seeing more of him on the show.
OMG!!!! I absolutely love your opinion here. I sometimes only watch Glee to see whats going to happen with Kurt. I got super sad when they made it seem as though kurt was leaving :(. I think they need to incorporate more stories though, it seemed as though they were going to start up something with Artie more than once but never got there. The other characters are almost non existent back row dancers who argue and fight with each other..

OMG Totally 100% agree with you. Klaine is freaking BORING. If they are put together it will be like watching them date themselves. And really Kurt is already self involved enough I don't want him being even more narcissistic. Kurtofsky is interesting and requires a road to redemption and tons of story to tell, whereas Klaine is maybe one or two episodes of angst, where they realize they wore the same outfit on the same day. That being said. I love Max. He's a great actor much like Chris.

I think that the only thing that would disturb me about audience reaction to what's happening between Dave and Kurt is if people viewed the kiss as something innocuous. For me it was borderline sexual assault.
That aside, I would say that I ship Kurtofsky on the basis of redemption. It's unfortunate that there are so few gay characters; frankly, there are very few minority characters in the spotlight. So, Blane and Kurt together seemed very cliche and convenient. It does nothing for me.

I gather that the gesture wasn't exactly wanted or expected, thus I labeled it borderline sexual assault. In the context of what Kurt is experiencing I don't view it as an innocent kiss. Dave continues to terrorize Kurt after the fact and Kurt is kind enough not to "out" Dave or tell others what happened.

You ought to in good conscience believe someone when they tell you b/c that is not something most people would lie about. Hell, tons of men and boys are taught never to discuss such things but it happens to them just as it would to women and girls. The act doesn't matter. It can be a grope, a kiss, etc.
@elvenfay If having the ability and or choosing to push someone away were the litmus test for rape and/or sexual assault . . . I can't say too many people would qualify as victims of those acts. Sometimes you are so shocked that you cannot act. Sometimes you think that the best way to defend yourself is just to let it happen. I have been kissed before as both a wanted and unwanted gesture. I didn't always push the person away b/c I was scared for my life.

Anyway, my point is that the frequency of activity shouldn't have to be measured for this to be considered sexual assault. Thinking back to the most recent episode and Kurt's decision to transfer to a new school, I just can't see that kiss as innocuous. Kurt's life was threatened and he is terrorized by his bully. The kiss was not innocent in the least. Dave shouldn't be imposing his insecurity on Kurt.

I couldn't agree more. I mean, granted, I don't watch Glee a lot -- my friends do, and I tune in occasionally -- but this storyline is making me want to do just that.
I love Glee too, but the only thing that annoys me about the show in general is that is gives you a really wrong impression of what musical theatre is and people don't really get to understand it fully. I'm also tired of Finn and Rachel, I don't like their relationship at all.

I read on one of the forums that Darren Criss was entering as a character in a love triangle involved with Kurt. I think it was figured that Blaine is just a mentor to teach Kurt how to stand up for himself and help get throught to Karfosky. I love Darren Criss so much and I don't want to see him go anywhere but I think the writers' main goal is Kurtfosky and I agree that that storyline there is a lot more interesting and thoughtful:)
I agree with you...Dave Karofsky is very interesting and hopefully the writers will dig deeper into his character. I am not about shipping, I am about witnessing a character develop. I know that there are gay men who are like Dave, they feel trapped and feel like drowning. The writers hopefully will redeem him:) and Max Adler is hot!!
I completely agree. I am a Kurtofsky shipper, but I just don't want Kurt and Karofksky to get together next episode like nothing happened. Give Karofsky time to heal, figure out who he is, and make amends with those he has wronged. I think people also need to realize that it is just a TV show, and despite their current detestation of Karofsky, it only takes a few well written episodes to completely change the viewers opinion of him.

It's funny, but my favourite part of that entire storyline was the other side it showed of Sue - just the way she dealt with the bullying situation.
I don't ship Kurtofsky, but I'm not against it either, I just can't see them together -- probably because Kurt is so openly gay and Dave is still firmly in the closet and hates his sexuality and projects that hate onto Kurt... and I don't think he's even actually into Kurt, I think it was more that Kurt was the only gay guy he knew. =/

I find Glee pretty boring these days, I keep watching in hope of something spectacular happening, so I was happily surprised when Kurstofsky made his move. I like him more now, he has more depth. I was equally delighted when Sue turned out to have a sister and still be the bitch she is. It makes you connect the dots of her personality better.
I think the bullying and transferring schools-thing is a try to make up for the drama the series has been lacking so far this season. It seems desperate.
Honestly, I like the Dave/ Kurt storyline but I don't ship them =P I agree the fandom can be harsh/ annoying at times. I'm interested in seeing where they take this story for him. I would like to see him redeemed eventually. ^^ I agree about Blaine. Right now that story is quite uneventful and I just can't get into it much.

My grandmother watches glee religiously and I thought it was the dumbest show on TV, until that kiss between the jock and fabulous guy. I still think it's dumb but now just kinda cuteish and dumb. And Rachel's still an annoying twat.
Dave's kiss totally shocked me, I really wasn't expecting it at all. I think they'd have really interesting potential for relationship dynamics but realistically, Dave isn't ready for a relationship at all right now. The story will be in how he learns to accept himself. In the meantime, I wouldn't mind some temporary Blaine/Kurt romance and a crazy love triangle or something later on. Haha :)
Bravo, couldn't agree more. The Karofsky/Kurt storyline (future couple or not) was welcomed in the show and makes it more interesting (And yes, Max Addler is awesome) As for Blaine, I feel he's there to give support, mostly. He and Kurt act more like BFF than potential lovers, which is perfectly fine, but would turn kinda boring if they become a couple. They're similar. There's no conflict, no tension.. their scenes serve more as relief. I'd rather see characters evolve in all their complexity.
The fact of the matter is people don't change overnight. People will stay somewhat the same even after years of practice. I'm not surprised that the changes with Rachel (and Quinn as well) has been slow, because that's reality.
I ship "Blurt" but that might just be me being biased towards Darren Criss. I'm a Starkid, after all.
I completely agree. I actually only started watching glee because I knew Darren Chriss was going to be on it, but im extremely glad I did. The whole dave/Kurt thing is what makes me keep watching but I honestly dont think it was the best idea to make him change schools. I mean, Im scared for Kurt but it sends the wrong message. I hope they dont somehow mess up that plotline :)
I think Quin has changed, that's why I think she's by far the most interesting character. Most of them just annoy me because they're too ridiculous. I mean, I like the show for the production and because I think the guy who plays Will is really sexy, so I like it for shallow reasons. The problem with Glee is it tries to be too many things at once, and as a result a lot of plot treads are left hanging to be picked up a few episodes later.

Self-acceptance goes a lot deeper than finding a boyfriend - it means loving yourself even when Mr.Right isn't around. I'm not saying Kurt and Dave should never happen - if it does, it does. But just as long as one realizes that redemption and romance aren't interchangeable. Just saying.

i cannot help getting so mad every time Fox News start rioting about Ryan Murphy's "gay agenda". It is-like you said, a story that matters, and that is incredibly relevant to some tragic things that happened this year. I agree with every aspect of your argument. One part of it which I latched onto though (because it is something which I like discussing) is the depiction of homosexual people in the media. It feels like, while I like Kurt and while characters like him and Jack MacFarland may be found in real life probably, it feels recently that a set of people who aren't like that, who opt to be a bit more stereotypically their gender while still being with the partner of their choice, aren't included (contin.)

I am one of those people who usually like to pair their favorite character with other characters a lot. My favorite pairings before season 2 was actually Puck/Kurt. Then I changed when Never Been Kiss came out to both Blaine and Dave. So I am stuck between those two but I don't mind if either one gets pick but since the few episodes that has been out concerning Blaine, I have been wanting the Kurtofsky/Redemption story line so bad!
We will just have to see. ^-^

Larry from Buffy was the first place my mind went when Dave kissed Kurt, while the writers from Buffy played the story for laughs showing no realistic repercussions whatsoever and having it be so great that even Larry's gran set him up on dates. I think Glee has a real chance to make point about homosexuality bullying and sense of self awareness. Dave being a bully to Kurt because he sees something in him self strikes a chord with me and my time at High School.

Okay....You are totaly right. Karofsky's stroyline is one to be admired and to pay atention to. I beleive that They will develope Karofsky and I know for a fact that Kurt will come back to McKinli high. He'll date Blain for a while but I think it won't work out. (Kurt and Blain are praticaly clones) But I have herd that they will put Kurt and Dave together after much struggle. But one of the bigest things Ive heared is that kurt will get Kurt by Azimio. I mostly agree with you.
I've always liked Glee, in a detached sort of way. Why? Because I like the music, some of the characters appeal to me (in fact, Kurt and Sue have always kind of rocked my socks), but the storylines felt to me somewhat lacking in reality. Which was fine, since Glee's always been ridiculous.
Now, however, I'm a bit more invested.
I WANT Karofsky's character to develop. Because there's lots of things going on, there.
And, as you say: it's not about the shipping.

Thank you! I support Kurtofsky for the exact same reason: the real potential their story could have. Klaine is undeniably aesthetically pleasing, but the fact of the matter is that the relationship doesn't bring anything else to the table dramatically. Neither one challenges the other in any substantial way to reevaluate their preconceptions or to grow outside their comfort zone. They make awesome friends, but anything more than an experiment at a relationship would be a waste of material.

Melina is amazing! Now I don't promote abusive relationship or any of that; I want Kurt to be happy. I hope that Dave grows into a better person and works to earn Kurts trust/respect. I love Blaine, the boy can sing, but there is no character growth and no plot between them. I think that Blaine will be the good friend to Kurt. Dave represents all the closeted jocks in American society. His character is groundbreaking and I'm looking forward to seeing more of him on the show.

I think they need to incorporate more stories though, it seemed as though they were going to start up something with Artie more than once but never got there. The other characters are almost non existent back row dancers who argue and fight with each other..

OMG Totally 100% agree with you. Klaine is freaking BORING. If they are put together it will be like watching them date themselves. And really Kurt is already self involved enough I don't want him being even more narcissistic. Kurtofsky is interesting and requires a road to redemption and tons of story to tell, whereas Klaine is maybe one or two episodes of angst, where they realize they wore the same outfit on the same day. That being said. I love Max. He's a great actor much like Chris.

I think that the only thing that would disturb me about audience reaction to what's happening between Dave and Kurt is if people viewed the kiss as something innocuous. For me it was borderline sexual assault.
That aside, I would say that I ship Kurtofsky on the basis of redemption. It's unfortunate that there are so few gay characters; frankly, there are very few minority characters in the spotlight. So, Blane and Kurt together seemed very cliche and convenient. It does nothing for me.

I gather that the gesture wasn't exactly wanted or expected, thus I labeled it borderline sexual assault. In the context of what Kurt is experiencing I don't view it as an innocent kiss. Dave continues to terrorize Kurt after the fact and Kurt is kind enough not to "out" Dave or tell others what happened.

You ought to in good conscience believe someone when they tell you b/c that is not something most people would lie about. Hell, tons of men and boys are taught never to discuss such things but it happens to them just as it would to women and girls. The act doesn't matter. It can be a grope, a kiss, etc.

Sometimes you are so shocked that you cannot act. Sometimes you think that the best way to defend yourself is just to let it happen. I have been kissed before as both a wanted and unwanted gesture. I didn't always push the person away b/c I was scared for my life.

Anyway, my point is that the frequency of activity shouldn't have to be measured for this to be considered sexual assault. Thinking back to the most recent episode and Kurt's decision to transfer to a new school, I just can't see that kiss as innocuous. Kurt's life was threatened and he is terrorized by his bully. The kiss was not innocent in the least. Dave shouldn't be imposing his insecurity on Kurt.

I love Glee too, but the only thing that annoys me about the show in general is that is gives you a really wrong impression of what musical theatre is and people don't really get to understand it fully. I'm also tired of Finn and Rachel, I don't like their relationship at all.

I read on one of the forums that Darren Criss was entering as a character in a love triangle involved with Kurt. I think it was figured that Blaine is just a mentor to teach Kurt how to stand up for himself and help get throught to Karfosky. I love Darren Criss so much and I don't want to see him go anywhere but I think the writers' main goal is Kurtfosky and I agree that that storyline there is a lot more interesting and thoughtful:)

I completely agree. I am a Kurtofsky shipper, but I just don't want Kurt and Karofksky to get together next episode like nothing happened. Give Karofsky time to heal, figure out who he is, and make amends with those he has wronged. I think people also need to realize that it is just a TV show, and despite their current detestation of Karofsky, it only takes a few well written episodes to completely change the viewers opinion of him.

It's funny, but my favourite part of that entire storyline was the other side it showed of Sue - just the way she dealt with the bullying situation.

I find Glee pretty boring these days, I keep watching in hope of something spectacular happening, so I was happily surprised when Kurstofsky made his move. I like him more now, he has more depth. I was equally delighted when Sue turned out to have a sister and still be the bitch she is. It makes you connect the dots of her personality better.
I think the bullying and transferring schools-thing is a try to make up for the drama the series has been lacking so far this season. It seems desperate.

Honestly, I like the Dave/ Kurt storyline but I don't ship them =P I agree the fandom can be harsh/ annoying at times. I'm interested in seeing where they take this story for him. I would like to see him redeemed eventually. ^^ I agree about Blaine. Right now that story is quite uneventful and I just can't get into it much.

Other than that, this was cool. I haven't been watching Glee recently, but it's nice to know the writers are breaking some boundaries and exploring new territory. ^_^

My grandmother watches glee religiously and I thought it was the dumbest show on TV, until that kiss between the jock and fabulous guy. I still think it's dumb but now just kinda cuteish and dumb. And Rachel's still an annoying twat.

Dave's kiss totally shocked me, I really wasn't expecting it at all. I think they'd have really interesting potential for relationship dynamics but realistically, Dave isn't ready for a relationship at all right now. The story will be in how he learns to accept himself. In the meantime, I wouldn't mind some temporary Blaine/Kurt romance and a crazy love triangle or something later on. Haha :)

Bravo, couldn't agree more. The Karofsky/Kurt storyline (future couple or not) was welcomed in the show and makes it more interesting (And yes, Max Addler is awesome) As for Blaine, I feel he's there to give support, mostly. He and Kurt act more like BFF than potential lovers, which is perfectly fine, but would turn kinda boring if they become a couple. They're similar. There's no conflict, no tension.. their scenes serve more as relief. I'd rather see characters evolve in all their complexity.

The fact of the matter is people don't change overnight. People will stay somewhat the same even after years of practice. I'm not surprised that the changes with Rachel (and Quinn as well) has been slow, because that's reality.
I ship "Blurt" but that might just be me being biased towards Darren Criss. I'm a Starkid, after all.

I completely agree. I actually only started watching glee because I knew Darren Chriss was going to be on it, but im extremely glad I did. The whole dave/Kurt thing is what makes me keep watching but I honestly dont think it was the best idea to make him change schools. I mean, Im scared for Kurt but it sends the wrong message. I hope they dont somehow mess up that plotline :)

I think Quin has changed, that's why I think she's by far the most interesting character. Most of them just annoy me because they're too ridiculous. I mean, I like the show for the production and because I think the guy who plays Will is really sexy, so I like it for shallow reasons. The problem with Glee is it tries to be too many things at once, and as a result a lot of plot treads are left hanging to be picked up a few episodes later.

I believe that Karofsky should be able to redeem himself. I'd like to see where his story goes. But I will never ship "Kurtofsky".

Right now I think Blaine and Kurt are acting like girly best friends, so it doesn't really seem like they're going to end up together to me.
My dad really doesn't like Dave because he's a teacher and, I dunno, he's really sensitive about bullying. I hope Dave can redeem himself.
